"There are not enough superlatives in my repetoire to register the delight of this CD. I have played it three times today and will soon listen again.
The New Boss Lives On."

So writes an on-line reviewer of this just released 2-CD set of 23 Springsteen songs recorded live in concert in Ireland.

The playlist is:

Atlantic City | Old Dan Tucker | Eyes On The Prize | Jesse James | Further On (Up The Road) | O Mary Don't You Weep | Erie Canal | If I Should Fall Behind | My Oklahoma Home | Highway Patrolman | Mrs. McGrath | How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times And Live | Jacob's Ladder | Open All Night | Pay Me My Money Down | Growin' Up | When The Saints Go Marching In | This Little Light Of Mine | American Land | Blinded By The Light | Love Of The Common People | We Shall Overcome

"The double-disc set Live in Dublin brings the Boss's latest project, the Pete Seeger tribute We Shall Overcome, to the live stage in fine style. As Springsteen continues to mine his roots in folk music, blues, Dixieland, country, swing, and gospel, he brings renewed energy to his effortless brand of rock 'n' roll. The disc was recorded on November 17, 18, and 19, 2006, at The Point in Dublin, Ireland, with a track listing that leans heavily on The Seeger Sessions but also includes numerous Boss favorites. The collection is likely to become a treasured item in every Bruce Springsteen collection."

An online reviewer describes the album: "Bruce Springsteen's manager Jon Landau said, "'Live in Dublin' charts the development of a band from an informal gathering in Bruce's living room to an onstage powerhouse. It also documents the growth in Bruce's vision of American music; it includes folk music, blues, Dixieland, country, swing, gospel, rock, down to and including his own writing. It's all performed with Bruce's classic energy and focus. I think it's some of the finest music he's ever made." The 23 songs on this CD are the best of the best. Included are many from his Seegers CD. They all belong in Springsteen's chest of dreams."

How does the Boss keep it going at such a high energy level and with such high standards of performance?

New Jersey is a state that receives an unfair share of ribbing for its chemical plants. But Bruce is a product of the Garden State, and for that alone we should be singing its praises.

With "Live in Dublin," the Boss is back, as rockin' and ageless as ever.
