Dennis Kucinich 2008 Campaign Button (2.25 inch diameter)
BUZZFLASH REVIEWS
BuzzFlash has long had a tradition of not endorsing a Democratic candidate running for President in the primaries. That's because we believe that our readers should best make up their own minds about who is their preference.
(We have, by the way, opposed a few candidates in the past for different reasons. There are just some people who we don't think merit consideration as Democratic presidential candidates, however nice they may be as people. It is a little too early to start that list, pending official declarations of candidacies.)
In any case, we will be offering campaign buttons of various presidential candidates for our readers to wear, if they want to show their support for one or the other. Our offerings won't be comprehensive, but subject to some BuzzFlashian decision making process that is secret even unto us -- which means we don't really have a systematic way of choosing which likely candidates we will put up on the premium page. But obviously, we will look to prioritizing candidates that our readers have indicated an interest in.
Given that this is a democracy -- and that most of our readers are Democrats -- no doubt we will get e-mails praising or decrying the candidate buttons we choose to offer. After all, that's part of being a Democrat, right!
Remember, we are not endorsing any candidate whose buttons we sell. We are just offering them to our readers.
It's up to you to decide if you want to wear one, not us.
Dennis Kucinich speaks to the heart of many progressives, as he so articulately captured the dreams and aspirations of a people in his "A Prayer for America." The media virtually ignores him, but his supporters adore his frank, hopeful appeal for the common good and the Constitution. The Congressman from Ohio wrote, "That is the America which stands not in pursuit of an axis of evil, but which is itself at the axis of hope and faith and peace and freedom. America, America. God shed grace on thee. Crown thy good, America."
More candidates to follow in the coming weeks.
