When the Onion declared, at the time of Bush's first inauguration, that (and we are paraphrasing) "Bush Promises That the Nightmare of Eight Long Years of Peace and Prosperity are over," they couldn't have been more prescient.

"Homeland Insecurity" offers a thick collection of the the publication that is to print journalism what the "Daily Show" is to television. Which is to say that it's satire that cuts much closer to the truth than the status quo spin of the Mainstream Media.

How can you not laugh at a headline such as, "Voice of God Revealed to be Cheney on the Intercom"? Or "Bush Announces Iraq Exit Strategy: 'He'll Go Through Iran"? Let's get real. These headlines may represent reality to Bush!

"Homeland Security" is the 2006 Holiday Edition of the Onion's most recent "complete news archives." It's not just about the farce of Bushevik "homeland security" propaganda; it covers the wide swath of comic material you'll find in the Onion.
