Larry David, husband of Laurie David, wrote the hilarious introduction to this enthusiastic book of advocacy. Laurie, not Larry, is a case study of a person who went from being indifferent about social activism to an anti-global warming activist fanatic.

Or as Larry David tells it: "Thirteen years ago I met a materialistic, narcissistic, superficial, bosomy woman from Long Island. She was the girl of my dreams...Finally I met someone as shallow as me...But then, after a few months, I began to sense that something had changed...She was growing...I, Larry David, the shallowest man in the world, had married an environmentalist."

Or as Laurie David says, in the dedication to the book, "For Larry, who told me that it would be a lot easier to try to change the world than to change him."

Actually, this is a serious, impassioned book that is a plea to help build a movement to stop global warming. It's full of facts, resources, and an energizing account of Laurie David's personal journey to making climate change her mission.

As Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says of Laurie, "She has a boundless energy."

Her last section of this short book is "The Solution is You!" After reading "Stop Global Warming," you get the feeling that if you don't get involved, Laurie David is going to come knocking at your door to read you the riot act.

She's that serious about it.

What's neat about David's writing is that it offers hope to those who think that one person can't make a difference. Laurie David doesn't buy that defeatism, not for a moment.

Heck, she's living proof of what one person CAN do.
