"No one is better placed or qualified to call for the impeachment of George W. Bush than Elizabeth Holtzman. She is a former Congresswoman and Brooklyn District Attorney who was a vital member of the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment of President Richard Nixon.

In The Impeachment of George W. Bush, Holtzman and her coauthor, acclaimed journalist Cynthia L. Cooper, have written a clear, lucid and damning legal brief that reveals that the 43rd President of the United States of America has committed high crimes and misdemeanors.

This book focuses on four articles of impeachment: The Offense of Wiretapping Surveillance in Defiance of the Law; the Offence of Lying and Inducing America to Support a War; The Offense of Reckless Indifference to the Lives and Welfare of American Troops; The Offense of Torture in Violation of U.S. Laws and Treaties. It also provides an invaluable guide to how citizens can get involved in campaigning for impeachment, as well as an important historical analysis of impeachments past. The publication of this book is a summons to action in this process."

BuzzFlash has stopped counting the number of Bush impeachment books that we have carried. And remember, it has to be a joint impeachment with Cheney. Otherwise, were it ever to happen, Cheney would become President!

In any case, all of this is a dream unless the Democrats are able to bring down the Rove/Bush/Cheney terror frightfest "show of shows," coming now to a television set in homes across America.

What it has come down to is the truth and reality vs. a third-time around Hollywood mini-series of fear.

Impeachment will only become even a remote possiblity if the Democrats regain control of the House. And to do that, we have to convince the majority of Americans that the Bush Administration is the Fantasy Island version of government -- and a peril to both our national security and our Constitution.

Elizabeth Holtzman is the youngest woman ever elected to the US Congress and won national attention for her role on the House Judiciary Committee during Watergate. She was subsequently elected Districts Attorney of Kings County (Brooklyn). A Harvard Law School graduate, she is a practicing lawyer with a firm in New York City.

Cynthia L. Cooper, a former practicing lawyer, is a journalist and author in New York. Her articles have appeared in The Nation, American Bar Association, Marie Claire and many others. She lives in New York City.
