Even at 96 songs and 4 CDs, this incredible compilation just gives you a taste of the legendary king of soul, Sam Cooke.

Due to copyright legal issues, Cooke's "Shake" and "A Change Is Gonna Come" are not included (the latter is most certainly going to be sung a few times at Inaugural Balls).

But if you want to take a dip into 96 songs of Sam Cooke soulfulness, this is the collection/box set for you.

Cooke was shot to death at the age of 33 in 1964, leaving behind a rich legacy of music (including gospel). Amazingly, these 96 songs represent only part of his prodigious musical recordings.

But listening to them, you'll long for some slow dancing and a romantic drive in one of those big Detroit cars that are now dinosaurs.

There were, no doubt, a lot of baby boomers conceived to the caressing, soulful voice of Sam Cooke.
