Now nearly 60, Jackson Browne is one of the great lyricists of his generation, and an emotionally moving singer who explores both internal regret, love, and the immorality of American foreign policy. His words are more poetic than didactic: Browne is someone you definitely listen to. He's one of the last of the great troubaours that grew out of the '60s.

Browne's voice has become a little more limited in its range, but it remains distinctively his own and makes up in authenticity for the relatively minor vocal adjustments due to so many years of solo performances.

The now grey-bearded Browne is one of the select group of vocal artists whose voice and lyrics evoke a distinctive mood and perspective. Like many great artists, he has led a somewhat tumultuous personal life, while remaining true to his inner voice.

Browne is an introspective lyricist and singer, with a deep political sense of morality and mutual responsibility.

This is his first full studio release in six years.
