Other issues have crowded AIDS from the front pages, but it is still with us -- and continues to be a particularly ravaging diseases in underdeveloped nations.
So let people know that you haven't forgotten about AIDS, even if our politicians aren't talking about it much anymore.
And let the Christian right know that abstinence-based solutions are not effective, because studies show that almost all abstinence education programs are ineffective in stopping sex over the long-term, and leave young people more vulnerable to AIDS because of ignorance about AIDS prevention.
So put this flag up and let people ask you what it represents. It's a chance to educate the public that AIDS has not gone away.
It's just been forgotten and politically tucked away.
