An online reviewer:
"If you like documentaries, you will love this one. I think it is a great example of what the world would be like if humans no longer exist. I loved seeing everything turn back into its natural state. I liked how it focused on everything from household pets becoming wild again, if they survived, how long man-made structures lasted without the everyday maintence of humans and, at the very end, the possiblity of evolution happening again. Overall, I found this to pretty outstanding film. I recommend this to everyone."
Another online reviewer:
"One of the best History Channel presentations ever. Something different and a little off the beaten path and really quality that I expect from the History Channel programming. The story takes you through different world changes as nature reclaims the earth after humans are gone. Details so many aspects of that reclamation that I was pleasantly surprised with the whole program start to finish it held my interest."

The pyramids may stand forever. The cities will disappear. Our greatest masterpieces will fade and crumble. And our water bottles will form vast floating islands bobbing on the oceans for millennia.
As global warming and the depletion of natural resources become ever more pressing issues it is critical to consider how we can reduce our impact on the planet. LIFE AFTER PEOPLE considers a total reduction of that impact: if humans simply disappeared.
The intriguing notion of our planet's post-human fate a fascinating thought exercise explored by scientists and scholars is exhaustively depicted in this special THE HISTORY CHANNEL documentary through vivid imagery and captivating computer renderings.
Journey with LIFE AFTER PEOPLE to locations around the globe already going through this process. You'll be amazed by the changes wrought in just decades in ghostly settlements like Chernobyl, abandoned since only 1986, and island towns off the coast of Maine. This hyper-visual, cinematic production spins the clock forward through centuries to depict the Earth as it would be without us. Experts in engineering, botany, ecology, biology, geology, climatology and archeology provide answers to many thought provoking questions.
