On Thursday, April 11, 2007, we lost the great Kurt Vonnegut, who passed away due to a brain injury resulting from a fall. He captured the voice of more than one American generation in penning imaginative narratives that embodied absurdity, reality, science-fiction and a tender sense of humanity.

Vonnegut, until his death, was also a passionate voice against the cruel embrace of death by the Bush Administration. He wasn't a writer who retreated to the ivory tower of art. He had much to say about the world in which he lived, and the politics of those who kill in the name of peace.
