Yes, the dynamic duo of truthiness appear to have a far better handle on reality and the way that the world works than the poobahs running for the White House. They certainly can only do better than the nefarious nitwits currently in the Executive Branch -- and, boy, the State of the Union Address would be a stitch!

As we have said, we are not endorsing any Democratic Presidential candidate in the primaries, but God it would sure be fun to have Stewart and Colbert deflating the pomposity of the political posturing that is endemic to a presidential campaign.

Heck, they could even report on their own run for office! We'd love to see Colbert interview Colbert!

And, heck, Colbert's television persona is a Bill O'Reilly knock-off, so would he run as a Democratic? Of course. Did you see him be the only person to whittle Bush down to size, remember at the D.C. Press Correspondents' Dinner? That was a breathtaking dressdown.

Of course, capturing our hearts and minds on television doesn't mean that they would be good leaders, but look at what we got! These guys at least will entertain us while dispensing the truth -- or truthiness -- with a wink and a nod.

Not that we are endorsing them, as we have said, but we sure are ready to have some fun.
