"Bad President" is a short, biting view of the first six years of W's performance in the White House. The "fiction" part of the book is comprised of "entirely made up" captions underneath a variety of photographs. The "fact" portion consists of one page articles called "The Sad Truth" which present actual statistics and and evidence that prove Bush has indeed been a bad president.

The photos and the captions under them are humorous. "The Sad Truths" are not. Several of the pictures are placed under the banner "BAD PRESIDENT WARNING SIGN #---" such as #548 on page 101. Under a picture of George W. with his lips sealed and his eyes closed the caption says:

"President threatens to hold breath until Liechtenstein joins the Coalition of the Willing."

Under a picture of Laura Bush seemingly wiping something off of the president's mouth, the caption reads:

"First Lady sometimes helps president form words in English."

One of my favorites is a picture of Bush facing President Clinton with the caption showing Bush saying:

"It's funny, Bill. I'm beginning to think my Dick is more dangerous than yours."

Bush is not the only target for photos with funny captions. Under a picture of Tom Delay displaying a two thumbs up gesture the caption reads:

"House Majority leader Tom Delay signals victory in bitterly fought competition for Most Corrupt Man in American Politics."

Generally, after three pages of humorous photos and captions, "The Sad Truth" details actual facts that are related to those pictures. For instance, after some photos of Rumsfield and Bush laughing about "putting one over on everybody about Iraq", the authors present serious statements by General McKieman and Colonel Andrew Bacevich who characterize Rumfield's "war plan" as the height of recklessness.
