The album "Winter Season" is clearly a holiday season CD, but with that distinctive Sting style. He's the rock star with the soul of a cafe folk singer. Even when he does a "holiday album," he's got an alternative take that's always interesting, because Sting creates such a personalized, dreamy mood. This is a diverse group of lyrics and background music, with a bit of surprise international flavor from time to time.

Is this Sting's best album? No, but it is a fine alternative to mall holiday music and wraps you in Sting's artistic embrace.
