I've been intrigued by bamboo towelettes ever since I've read about them. I asked the start-yp eco-firm Geo Mio to send me a sample so I could try them out. Each towelette comes wrapped in a thin plastic seal that protects it from moisture. When you wet this circle which has a diameter of 1 3/4 inches and a quarter inch thickness, it becomes a multi-purpose towel whose dimensions are roughly 11" x 30". Its expansion qualities are magical.

My assignment for myself was to use the bamboo towelette at the office at times when I'd normally use a paper or cloth towel. Typical uses are drying my hands or drying a plate or utensils, or wiping off the counter or a desk. It was a bit of a challenge to master at first. The bamboo is not dry like paper. It has a softness and a bit of moisture. Once I realized that the bamboo towelette was working superbly, that it wicks moisture well even though the feel of the cloth was unfamiliar, I decided I loved it. I especially like the idea of all the paper towels I wasn't using and it's terrific when you're on the go because it's so tiny and lightweight.

The fact that bamboo is naturally anti-bacterial is especially appealing because the towelette can be reused so often. Plus you can hand wash the bamboo towels with a little soap if you wish.

As of now, I've used my bamboo towelette several times a day for a week and it hasn't shown any signs of wear. If you're already using cloth dish rags instead of paper towels, you may think of having a small supply of these bamboo towelettes for clean-up jobs when you're on the go or in place of paper napkins because they're reusable and so very compact.
