Don't think of this as a commemorative book put out by a newspaper -- although it is something to preserve for the years. It's an art photography book that happens to be about a historic charismatic march to the White House and a candidate who moves people and lends himself to the camera with grace, affabiity and charm.

Scout Tufankjian, the photographer, graduated from Yale and has spent a good deal of time on assignment in Gaza, where she photographs the carnage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on paid assignment. What a jarring contrast it must have been to follow Obama as he moved toward the White House, shooting more than 12,000 photographs, 200 of the best ending up in this collection.
