Regarding Al Gore

Part I: The 2000 Election

by Rebecca Knight

WOW! You really have to hand it to Al Gore. Apparently when he speaks everybody listens. At least all the mainstream media pundits listen. Then they run like scalded dogs to write their tirades and set Mr. Gore straight. What is this anti-Gore illness with the media all about? It is really hard to get a handle on exactly what causes it, but the symptoms definitely exist. One would think that just a glance at what the Bush administration has done to this nation would be enough to give any critical thinking pundit reason to self-examine his or her previously held beliefs about Al Gore. Oh, but no! Wouldn't be prudent, as Poppy Bush likes to say.

And it's not just the media that goes negative on Gore. Joe Lieberman, of all people, had the nerve to criticize the populist theme of Gore's campaign 2000. Oh, Joe, we gotta know how you came up with that one! Did you express those thoughts during the campaign in your strategy sessions with Al? Were you thinking those thoughts when you sat like a wuss and got out-debated by Cheney? Were you thinking those thoughts when you appeared on national television and inserted foot in mouth about the military votes in Florida? Uh, Joe, clear the cobwebs dear. Gore got more. Simply put, the populist theme worked then and it will work again because it is a very relevant issue, even more so now. So, Joe, cut the crap and stop with your pathetic shenanigans. We all know you are trying to position yourself for a presidential run in 2004. Not gonna happen dear boy.

What's wrong with this picture? The candidate who tells the truth to the people is branded as a habitual liar and the candidate who lies as easily as he breathes gets a free pass. Not only that, the liar candidate sneaks around in Florida with his brother Jebbie and Katherine (Cruella) Harris manipulating the voting process, the recounts, and the judicial system so that he becomes the leader of the free world. Something is fundamentally wrong in America. Something is so wrong that, as stated in a previous column, this writer will get over it when pigs fly!

What's that you say? How dare such things be said about the pResident of the United Sates? How dare we question the accuracy of the media? We dare ask questions because it is our right and our responsibility in a free society – at least for now!

Can we talk? America needs to have a little chat about facts. The facts are rarely presented for public consumption, but they are out there in the wonderland of the Internet. One only has to do a little search to find almost anything. Yet, pundits are apparently computer illiterate or they would not write such stupidity! Sometimes the old quote regarding shinola applies. You know the one! They don't know the difference!

So, here goes, folks! Time for a little truth telling! Take a gander at these items!

Al Gore Won!

OFFICIAL RESULTS:
Gore 48.38% (50,999,897) - George W. Bush 47.87% (50,456,002) http://fecweb1.fec.gov/pubrec/2000presgeresults.htm

Okay, we know that the electoral count is really how one gets elected president. So what? We also know that the Bushes played dirty tricks in Florida and lied out the wazoo about Al Gore's efforts there. Truth be known, which it never will, Al Gore won Florida, too.

Take a walk down memory lane by reading the transcripts of the 2000 presidential debates. It was abundantly clear that Al Gore knew the facts, laid out a comprehensive plan for America, and predicted the disasters that would ensue with a Bush presidency. It was also abundantly clear that George Bush misrepresented (lied about) his record as Texas governor, spoke of compassion without showing he had any, and lied about Gore. Yet, the pundits whined about insignificant issues. Now we are stuck with a president who is doing exactly the opposite of what he said during the debates on many issues.

The Greens (Naderites) spewed that there was no difference between the Republican and Democratic Parties. Is that true? Absolutely not!

Yes, this writer realizes that many of the links provided here are left leaning. Did you expect the mainstream media to tell the truth about Gore? If you did, you were fooling yourself.

Yes, this writer realizes that the links provided will require a massive amount of reading on your part. The links could have been summarized here for your review, but that might not have given you the entire picture. The entire picture is what is required for a full understanding of what really occurred in election 2000. Also, election 2000, in it's fullest evaluation, will lead to the credibility of the candidates under consideration for election 2004, which will be covered in this writer's commentary in part two of this article next week.

Make no mistake about it, this writer believes that election 2000 was a sham perpetrated by the Bushites and the Republican Party, who would do anything and everything to obtain power in 2000 and maintain power in 2004.

Part II of this article next week will discuss why Al Gore is the right candidate to oppose George W. Bush in election 2004. Please stay tuned!
