| The Bush GOP Congress and Their Monkey Business MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON BuzzFlash, How many pay raises have these members in Congress already given themselves since Bush was placed into the White House? (Voting for your own raise -- wouldn't we all like to do that, and Congress has cheated themselves from allowing the American people to let them know how much they are appreciated, if only the American people could vote for their raises.) Remember, right before Clinton left office, the Republicans, probably because they already knew they were going to steal the next election any which way they could, voted for the next resident in the oval office to receive double the salary that President Clinton received and he actually worked many hours a day. That, alone, should have been a giant GOP type of clue to the Democrats as to what was going to happen in the next election. After all, they wouldn't have done it if they'd thought a Democrat was going to win. These millionaires and billionaires in Congress will never miss these raises in a financial way, but with the greed we've seen during the last six years ... they probably will have a mouth foaming fit if they don't get them, anyway. Tens years, and people are still making $5.15 an hour. Anyone voting against this financial bondage, this captivity of the poor ... doesn't deserve to be working for the American people. Any person who has such disdain for the occupations by anyone having to work for such pennies a day, should be sentenced to so many hours of community work ... and to vote against raising this amount is the same as taking food off of the table of millions of American citizens ... and most of this work for this meager sum, is the kind of work that those in Congress wouldn't ever in their lifetime think of doing for any amount of money. They hire it done. They, too, want laborers to work for them for nothing, because they do not respect the work or the worker.
In the debate where we hear about the Republicans wanting to protect America's small businesses ... how did the Democrats keep from laughing until they bled? Who has been the largest killer of America's small businesses? Who now holds the title of being the largest employer in the US? Who uses government money to expand their business? Who is known to want something for nothing from their employees, and who, also, does not want to pay fair wages for a working day? What company has more people in the top ten wealthiest people in the world? Wal-Mart ... that's who! A Republican company. A tight assed, work for nothing company that is owned by a family who are in the top ten wealthiest people in the whole, wide, world! The Republicans did not try to save American small businesses from being gobbled up by the practices of this behemoth killer of small business. Where were the Republicans 10, 15, or 20 years ago? Where are they today, because Wal-Mart is still killing small businesses, and not willing to pay a fair price for the labor of their employees. By this day and time, Wal-Mart has artfully created all kinds of ways to screw the towns who allow them to come in, even when there has been lawsuits trying to stop them ... creative ways to put small-town businesses out of business, and then, so many other ways have been created to get a few hours of work from their employees for nothing, and knowing that they can fire and hire at will, because there are no jobs in these towns. No place for people to go because other American businesses have also let the American worker down by skipping town. Wal-Mart should be a bright, shiny badge in the US business world, not of honor, but of how low this country has sunk in enterprise, manufacturing, technology, future job markets, when a business like Wal-Mart becomes the largest employer in America today, and not because they are a great company to work for, but because of their shoddy practices and taking advantage of towns who have had enormous job loss because their companies packed up and went overseas for more cheap labor, and this is considered patriotic and American by our politicians ... Republicans and some Democrats. Yeah, Republicans really care about protecting the American worker and the American small business. For all of you who do believe that ... I'm now in the process of selling shares in our government. Well, what's so strange about that? Lobbyists have been doing it for years, and it has gotten them right into today's White House. A vote for a Republican today, is the same as taking food off your table and taking gas out of your gas tank, keeping your kids from being educated, and having to live in credit card debt forever; never owning a home; having to live with family members all your life; having to live in government housing for the rest of your life or maybe, in some cases, living on the street because many Americans have no jobs today; many Americans are working two or three jobs, which means kids are home alone, raising themselves. What about those living under the underpasses in many cities, who are homeless and jobless? I'll wager that many members of Congress don't know how hard it is to even get any kind of job when in such circumstances. This reminds me of when Americans and their whole families were living in their cars, going around the country looking for any kind of work during the last Reagan/Bush wonderful, prosperous era, that left America with debt, death, and destruction, that President Clinton did clean up, the debt part, without the help of Republicans ... handed Bush, the un-elected, a surplus, and now, after six years of the same type of Republican leadership, with the same people in this administration ... we have managed to surpass the Reagan/Bush era, and now have the highest debt ever in the US, but, that didn't worry these so-called conservative Republicans, did it. The most dishonest White House in the history of this country, Republicans turn a blind eye, which makes them complicit in all of the Bush GOP administration's crimes, by the way ... but, paying an honest wage for an honest hour's work ... we can't have that. It's too Democratic. All of this is a repeat of the prosperous Reagan/Bush years. That's what a vote for the GOP is today. Nostalgic, in remembrance of that time. For Republicans, it's "their way," but, it will never be the American way. The Republican Party actually died 30 years ago, and Americans refuse to let go ... and, what we have today in its place, is anyone's guess ... but, whatever it is, it roams the earth with debt, death, and destruction. It doesn't have a heart, it's not alive, it's un-American, treasonous to our Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc., and we American people need to send it back to the dank, dark bowels of the earth from whence it came, because we are a living, breathing Democracy, and we will not let them try to kill this country again.
