| Conservatives, Criminals and Garlic MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON What is a conservative when speaking about the Republican Party today? I used to think we needed a two-party system and we needed those conservatives for balance. I still do believe that ... but, we no longer need the present day conservatives, because they have become "unbalanced."
It gets better ...
Everyone knows we have a "living language," and words change their meanings for many different reasons ... for instance, the word "conservative," when used by Republicans today. They say they are the "Conservative Political Party," but today that party is responsible for many abrupt changes in the world, including the killing of innocent people in Afghanistan with the excuse of going after bin Laden and then allowed him to just "fly away" ... lying the US into a war in Iraq, that has destroyed an unarmed country and killed tens of thousands of innocent people, and a very non-supportive and deceitful move towards our military that has cost over 2000 deaths and tens of thousands of injuries; this "conservative" Bush GOP has given the US our highest debt in history, and if that wasn't enough, they can't account for the debt, and there is no indication that they (Bush GOP) intend to stop. Then, this unstable and unprepared Bush GOP administration killed one of our own cities, New Orleans, where the dead are still being found, months after the Katrina disaster. I won't even go into the cynical and abusive legislation that has taken money from the American people to help pay for these criminal actions. A war for profit. Oil for profit. Treason for profit and power, and it just keeps going on, like a tsunami of corruption that has knocked this country off our stable footing and is threatening to destroy US democracy as we all know and love it. Does any of the above describe the present Bush GOP of today? Of course not, so why would any American trust any GOP member who follows this extreme Republican regime and think they are more secure and more safe than in the hands of the Democratic party, whose base does still believe in the traditions of our Country? (I'm not referring to the silence of the DLC.) That's because Americans refuse to realize in no way, does the Bush GOP represent the conservatism of the Republican party today. Five short/long years later, whenever I hear the word "conservative" today, the hair on the back of my neck, stands up; I immediately want to throw up my hands, because I have this sneaky feeling that I'm going to be robbed at "gun point," and they might either jail me or incapacitate me (a nice way of putting it) with an NRA gun because I do not support them, plus, I also get a sensation of urgency in wanting to adorn myself with gobs of garlic. Conservative does not mean "conservative" when applied to the Republican Party today ... it comes much closer to meaning "criminal," a person who has committed a crime. If in doubt, think of the old saying, "What you see, is what you get." (Actions speak louder than words.) And, if that is to be changed (relieved of duties in the White House, impeached, and prosecuted) ... it will be up to those who used to be the GOP, because the leadership of the Democrats have joined Rip Van Winkle somewhere and we can't find them ... in order to save the party of true conservatism, they (the real GOP) must stand up and separate themselves from this treasonous and criminal Bush GOP and demand justice for five years of malfeasance. I won't take off my garlic or hold my breath, I'll believe that when I see it. Thanks BuzzFlash, Shirley Smith * * * Shirley Smith is a regular BuzzFlash Reader and Contributor.
