| Just Follow the Leader MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON Other than Representative John Murtha, Al Gore is the only one who comes to mind that has ever, ever been able to put this administration down, where it should be, looking up into the eyes and listening to the voice of the real conscience of America. Why? Because the Bush administration knows where Gore should be making his speeches ... from inside the oval office. The Bush administration can't put Gore down because he knows what he is talking about ... he lived it ... as has Representative Murtha, who also has the background to put these criminals down, and who also doesn't flinch from their attacks, yet, he has had to stand alone. The Democratic leadership is probably behind him ... but, so far back that no one can see them. These are reasons why it was so important for Clinton to be doing the same thing. Clinton was a leader in spite of eight years of political harassment, of the kind that people should have been punished for and they weren't. When crimes go unpunished, they keep happening by those same people. The Bush administration would not have been able to use President Clinton as they have done during the last five years and constantly keep trying to blame him for their crimes. The Raw Story | Gore responds to White House 'hypocrisy' comments I think President Gore probably realized and regrets, as we all have had those same regrets, that a long time ago in the year 2000 ... that he and we Americans should have stood firm when Bush was placed into the White House, and didn't, not because we believed in what the Supreme Court did ... we weren't sure at that time that the election was stolen at the ballot box, and I believe everyone was caught off guard, unprepared ... everyone except the Bush GOP who knew what they were going to do. It was a pre-planned assault on American democracy. We Americans thought we had to obey (because we were not organized or prepared, either physically or mentally, to fight back against what turned out to be a Supreme Court coup for the Bush GOP to seize the power illegally of this country and unbelievable to Americans who respect the democracy of this country, and we couldn't accept in our minds, what our eyes were telling us) ... this coup has forever changed how I feel about a Court that, in my mind, has ceased forever to be Supreme. Follow the leader, the real leader, the elected leader you members of Congress ... Gore talks back with truth and honesty with heart ... that is exactly how to fight back and win ... against a criminal Bush administration ... Bush fights with lies and his own dictatorship-type of ideology ... but in his arena with his ideology ... it has costs tens of thousands of lives ... debt, death, and the destruction of our Constitution. Power for war. War for profit. That is who is in power today. We are a country without leadership, without honor in that leadership. For years and years Americans have had heroes on TV, in comic books, fictional stories ... coming to the rescue and fighting for truth and honesty and against crime, and they always, always win ... none of those heroes were liars, exploiters, criminals in costumes, and they fought the enemies, not their own people. Why do Americans not expect at least that much from their leaders, as they did and still do, from those same heroes that they cherish and want to emulate? Even today, they are used as examples in the fiction of our young people ... and, they were used in the fiction of those young Americans who are losing their lives, trying to do their duties, but not under a leader, not under someone who respects their lives ... no, not under someone who would do as they are doing. They are losing their lives under a Commander in Chief who chose to go AWOL, instead of serving his country, and knew it was wrong because he tried to hide it. Secrets and lies are the result of those who know they are committing crimes. Why has the standard of American values been lowered to where we have to crawl on our bellies to keep up? Heroes don't crawl on their bellies ... they stand out and they stand tall. Leaders stand tall ... they don't have to lie, they don't have to be secretive to conceal their own actions ... that's how we can tell who the real leaders are ... not in how they follow (like Bush follows the polls and his bases made up of the wealthy who are making billions off of the war in Iraq and the Christian Coalition, the reason for Alito and Roberts and the destruction of our Constitution, in order to keep the GOP in power) but in how they stand out and how they lead ... for the advancement, not the destruction, of all peoples in America and around the world. That's a true leader. Thanks BuzzFlash, Shirley Smith * * *
