'The Hammer has been dropped.  Permanently.'

MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON

Headlines sound great don't they, but they are misleading to me.

The Hammer would only be dropped permanently, in my mind, if he was to leave congress. That is permanent, not in a position of hammering, which he can still do, but, I guess that only depends on what his threats were to get votes or money, doesn't it ... what he used to hammer with.

Well, I don't pretend to know the law, but to me, Clinton was impeached by this same House over a personal sexual dalliance on his own time, as President Clinton was known as a hard working president, but, the impeachment shouldn't have happened (if it hadn't been for the Senate, there is no doubt, Clinton would have had to leave the White House), even if it had been with a member of congress.

DeLay just steps down as a majority leader, but he is still in congress and he has been arrested and indicted for criminal activity. Why is he still in congress ... or, are people so used to this kind of activity from the Bush GOP that they think it's normal? If he goes to jail, will he run his office from there? He will probably be pardoned by Bush, the treasonous, anyway, before having to serve one single day. One thing about being a government criminal ... they are allowed to keep their money, so they have plenty of cash for their prosecutions.

First, they steal from Americans and if they get caught, they use the stolen money to pay for their defense when prosecuted for their crimes. Do these people ever have to pay back any of what they have stolen? But, how do they pay back legislative influence that was used to pass unfair laws?  Democracy can be a real bi*** sometimes.
