| It's Okay To Be Gay ... It's Not Okay To Be GOP in DC MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON In my opinion and I have said this before, it's a badge of honor to be Gay today for just having to put up with some of these self-proclaimed moralists who think their imbecilic prejudices are worth killing for ... and it would serve Bush right if every person in the military confessed to being Gay today. In fact ... I wish they would. Any wonder what our military would do then? I think we would find that it would be a-okay to be a military Gay. The attacker should have been punished, not for beating up a Gay, but for beating up a fellow soldier period ... and maybe he will be, but our military is led by the corrupted morality of the Bush GOP warhawks, full of hairy-breast-thumping homophobes ... and, as for that soldier who was discharged, he can feel blessed, as he has been given a second chance at life ... whereas most of our military serving under an AWOL treasonous Commander in Chief ... won't fare so well. If I was the family of this soldier who was discharged, I would be relieved as I would never want the life of my loved ones put in the hands of someone like the guy with the small pea-sized brain that just slugged my loved one and broke his nose, for being himself ... another brother human being in a country that the US has illegally invaded and those US military units need each other to survive. It would be hard to know who the real enemy was, wouldn't it? Of course, this attack was not on a battlefield or in barracks, but such attacks could be prevented, except for US military policies that are just plain Neanderthal and belong to that period and, I believe that to make a point, I just insulted the Neanderthals, because these prejudices actually started in what we refer to as closer to modern day history and probably can be traced to organized man-made religion, rather than to the early history of this world ... that world wasn't prejudiced against Gays. Of course, anyone who is outwardly prejudiced against Gays, that prejudiced behavior doesn't stop there, so why would we want that type of person fighting alongside other fellow Americans, who might be Black, female, Jewish, Mexican, rich, poor ... maybe too plain looking for his liking, or someone who he just thought looked threatening to him ... (does that sound familiar to anyone? FL, CO, WY, and, that almost sounds like the story he was giving in his defense, but only someone with half a brain would believe such a lie or think it enough to attack someone) or, heaven forbid (because our military won't) if one of his military buddies happened to be Arabic ... get the picture? No, our military kept the one whose outbursts of simple-minded prejudices were against his own fellow American in the military ... now, maybe people understand why this nation gets pulled into wars for no other reason than lies and fabricated evidence ... because we don't have the brightest stars out there ... that's why! Gay soldier discharged; attacker stays Prejudice is the flame that grows inside the shallow mind, causing people to self-destruct, eventually. But, with a shallow mind, they never know it, anyway. Maybe that is why this nation is teetering on that very thin line, even when it comes to the real reasons behind the illegal invasion of Iraq and threats to other Middle East countries led by this Bush GOP administration. This soldier may have had to feel the rejection of a life in the military that he chose ... but, that is not his fault ... instead, another sign of a nation that is still too willfully ignorant and full of the rhetoric of the caustic Christianized bigots to be called a leader of nations ... but, of course, we fouled that up all ready thirty years ago ... didn't we? Gays are not the anomaly of US society today; that honor is reserved for the intolerant, illiberal, racist, close-minded, jaundiced, chauvinistic, bigoted super patriots. One day, with the right leadership, these fascist-leaning, narrow-minded individuals will either learn to be tolerant or learn to be silent and exist on the outer fringes of a real democracy, where their type of anti-American hypocrisy belongs. Just a thought, Thanks BuzzFlash, Shirley Smith * * *
