| Re 'Cheney cabal hijacked foreign policy' . . . MS. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON I can buy everything being said, especially about Cheney and Rummy, except for the quote below. I remember when Powell testified, if he wanted to be a "hero," that was the time, not today, but when he could have chosen to step down in protest of this war . . . he didn't. Instead, he did just what the Bush GOP told him to say. We don't know what would have happened if Powell had not done that, but we do know that his testimony was a lie and he knew it was a lie at the time. In my mind, Powell knows he screwed up and doesn't want to be associated with this treasonous group today. A tad late.
