The Nation's Ari Melber points out that a recent Newsweek piece by former Bush aide Yuval Levin -- "What Coattails? Why right-of-center candidates are succeeding in the age of Obama" -- didn't mention the author's time spent in the previous administration.

This is Cuckoo! Reid Says He Trusts Lieberman and is Proud that Lieberman is Remaining Chair of the Homeland Security Committee in the Senate. Man, the Dems in the Senate Really Know How to Let Someone Piss on Them and Their President-elect and Then Say "Thank You Kind Sir." Not Only That, Our National Security and Rule of Law is Imperiled with Lieberman Continuing to Head That Committee. He Has Been a Bushevik Neo-Con Puppet in That Role for Two Years.

Why we should still keep an eye on Bush? "Just weeks before leaving office, the Interior Department's top lawyer has shifted half a dozen key deputies -- including two former political appointees who have been involved in controversial environmental decisions -- into senior civil service posts." 11/19

A Celebration of Arrogance - Bush and the Media -- Ann Davidow exclusively for BuzzFlash.com on Tuesday, November 18. The arrogant assault on our sensibilities continues from all sides. Despite a national consensus that the country was on the wrong track and an electoral victory of major proportions, media pundits and Republican loyalists have contorted the election-day message so as to diminish what voters were saying when they elected Barack Obama.

A senator on Monday said he will introduce a bill to stop the release of $350 billion in the second round of funding for a massive Wall Street bailout program. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, an independent who usually votes with the Democrats, voted against the $700 billion program approved by Congress in October and enacted by President George W. Bush to stabilize the financial system. 11/18

Joe Conason: Republicans have flooded the airwaves with baseless propaganda to discredit the Coleman-Franken recount in advance. It's the George W. Bush 2000 Florida playbook all over again. Franken is not giving in to their bullying though. 11/18

ToppleBush: "Unfortunately if the Dems decide to keep Lieberman as one of their own it will say much more about them than him. And it will cause me and many other progressives to lose our respect for Senate Democrats, who are already on our short leash now. I don't think you should want this to happen if you are reaching out for broad support to pass important legislation." 11/18

"The view of Delicate Arch natural bridge — an unspoiled landmark so iconic it's on Utah's license plates — could one day include a drilling platform under a proposal that environmentalists call a Bush administration "fire sale" for the oil and gas industry." 11/18

"Though the U.S. press corps is loath to examine history, especially when it reflects badly on the Bush Family, the present – and the future – might hinge on the American people finally understanding how George W. Bush and his reverse-Midas touch managed to turn a relatively golden U.S. economy to dross in just eight years."

"Looking to bolster the fight against childhood lead poisoning, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency last month approved a tough new rule aimed at clearing the nation's air of the toxic metal. A key part of the initiative is a new network of monitors that will track lead emissions from factories. But the Bush administration quietly weakened that provision at the last minute by exempting dozens of polluters from scrutiny, federal documents show." 11/15

USING THE WANING days of power to ram through rules and regulations to burnish a legacy or preempt a successor is a time-honored tradition of outgoing administrations. That President Bush's White House is no exception was demonstrated by last week's announcement by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) that it would authorize the sale of oil and gas leases on 360,000 acres of public land in Utah. Many of the tracts are disturbingly close to national parks and some of the nation's most beautiful vistas. 11/15

Campbell Brown and John King share the BuzzFlash Media Putz of the Week for November 13, 2008. It would be very easy to give the award to Brown and King for completely forgetting that Bush and the Republicans had complete control of the White House and Congress. But no, the honor is for recognizing that the concern for "those people who have been worried about the possibility of one party controlling Congress and the White House" doesn't extend when Republicans are in charge, but only when Democrats are in control.

Will Obama By-Pass Prosecuting Bushevik DOJ Illegalities? "It would not be beneficial to spend a lot of time calling people up to Congress or in front of grand juries," Litt said. "It would really spend a lot of the bipartisan capital Obama managed to build up." Screw this guy. All Americans Must be Subject to the Rule of Law, Even Busheviks.

Cut 'Em All Loose -- P.M. Carpenter Exclusively on BuzzFlash.com for Thursday, November 13 . But give us a break, and I mean that literally: a clean, surgical break from all things Bushian. If you want to go bipartisan, do it at Commerce, or Transportation, or Agriculture (maybe some bored Republican senator from a purple state with a Democratic governor?) -- anywhere but Defense, or State, or Justice, the cabinet triumvirate of the Bush crime family.

Bush, Out of Office, Might Still Refuse to Cooperate with Criminal and Congressional Investigations. “The Bush administration overstepped in its exertion of executive privilege, and may very well try to continue to shield information from the American people after it leaves office,” said Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, who sits on two committees, Judiciary and Intelligence, that are examining aspects of Mr. Bush’s policies. 11/13

Campbell Brown and John King are the BuzzFlash GOP Hypocrites of the Week. They magically forgot that there were many nightmarish years of one-party rule under Dick Cheney and George W. Bush. 11/13
