Revolution (DVD) by Margaret Cho

BUZZFLASH REVIEWS

In our continuing series of offering premiums from artists who read BuzzFlash.com, we are honored to be one of the exclusive distributors for Margaret Cho's new DVD, "Revolution." In fact, the DVD won't be available at retail outlets until August 7th. But BuzzFlash has them in stock right now.

If you haven't seen Margaret perform before, just remember that the Chicago Tribune calls her "Honest and raunchy enough to make even Richard Pryor blush."

Another critic says of Cho, "With balls, wit, grace and, above all, rage, Cho rants like Lenny Bruce, analyzes like George Carlin and dishes the dirt like Eddie Murphy"

We interviewed Margaret after she started receiving vicious hate mail from the vast right wing conspiracy because she satirized the Republicans for attacking Moveon.org because a video was submitted to their contest that compared Bush to Hitler. Cho, always looking for the comic opportunity, responded to the RNC attacks by mocking them: "Bush could be Hitler if he applied himself."

Good line.

She responded to the Republican hate mail by writing in her blog, "the truth hurts the dumb, and it isn't my fault."

Read our interview with Margaret. You can see clips from "Revolution."

We're glad that Margaret is a BuzzFlash reader -- and that's she's given us the opportunity to offer "Revolution" as an advance premium, ahead of the retail outlets. And $5 of each purchase will go to the Illinois Council Against Handgun violence, one of our BuzzFlash hometown advocacy groups.

Cho is deservingly receiving an award from the Southern California Chapter of the ACLU for her "courage to speak out about the dangerous policies of the Bush administration." But don't expect "Revolution" to be a political tirade. It's first-rate, politically incorrect humor that covers wide ranging taboo topics involving sex, gays, lesbians, transgenders, and uptight Republicans, among other timely subjects.

Yes, Richard Pryor might blush, but we just laughed our heads off.
