| Margaret Cho - Assassin Tour (DVD) BUZZFLASH REVIEWS
And the fact that she's an unabashed political activist and advocate adds credibility to her performance. Because she just doesn't get how the right wing thinks or functions. To her, talking about them is like trying to figure out what makes an alien from Mars tick. But, in the end, Cho has their number -- and let's just say that she doesn't mince words. She cleans Laura Bush's clock, so to speak, by providing a one-word description of how a certain part of her anatomy smells. We guess there are even some BuzzFlash readers who might be offended. But we just find Cho so, well, on target. Even if you are offended, your inner voice is probably saying, "You know, she's right about that." Cho has a big gay following, in part because she includes gay humor in her act. But mostly, it is because her humor comes from the vantage point of the classic outsider. She's a human rights comedian, with special venom reserved for anyone who opposes inclusiveness. No, Cho is not for prudes or those who get queasy about anatomical details. But if you want a comic who fiercely cuts to the chase while still being endearing as she imitates her Korean mom talking to her on the phone, then Cho is for you. Filmed at the historical Warner Theater in Washington, D.C., this is a live performance of Cho's latest tour. BUZZFLASH REVIEWS |
