Not So Gentle Benedict

During the campaign, he said guys like Kerry
Absolutely should be left in the lurch
Because views he held about abortion
Went against the teachings of the Church.

But Benedict back at this same time
Didn’t give our President the what for
Even though his boss John Paul opposed
Execution and The Iraq War.

It wasn’t just because of Jesus
That Benedict was being critical
The actions he took on behalf of Bush
Were nothing if not political.

Priests will soon pass out GOP flyers
Wherever they're giving communion
Republicans despise organized labor
But organized religion is their union.
