Schiavo Supporters Argue That A Higher Authority Is On Their Side

Right-wingers claim that Terri has
A major ally in the Pope
And that backing from the Pontiff
Helps give their position hope.

But the word of The Holy Father
Those same folks all did attack
When he said that he opposed
Our invasion into Iraq.

And with capital punishment
Your basic blind man could see
That the Pope and the far right
Again happened to disagree.

It is not now my goal to make
The Religious Right mope hard
But there can be a downside when
You decide to play the Pope card.
