Waiting to get their physicals
Were police and army recruits
The fact they were sitting ducks
Is one that no one refutes.

Here’s a very simple idea
To keep these recruits alive:
Don’t let them congregate now
In groups bigger than five.

Didn’t this occur to someone?
It’s impossible to ignore
That these kinds of brutal attacks
Have often happened before.

Unarmed recruits in public?
Someone’s not using their noodle
It’s like expecting a pit bull
To “play”with a toy poodle.
