Bush Ends SOTU Speech By Quoting Democratic President

by Tony Peyser

If Dubya ran against FDR,
His ex-media chief Don Sipple
Would’ve made TV ads that said,
"Don’t vote for a cripple!"

(In you forgot, a key part of
Roosevelt’s portfolio
Were his never-seen leg braces
Because he had polio.)

Roosevelt started Social Security
To help the aged and poor
These "touchy-feely" kinds of things
Bush doesn’t want around any more

This White House clearly despises
Everything that FDR did
So, this shout-out’s just a shameless
And feeble bipartisan bid.

As a rule, Mr. Bush manages
To never be analytical
But he sure has a natural gift
At being hypocritical.
