A View From the Sunshine State

JJ, who lives in Florida,
Sent me his election take:
Lights, music and noise
But the whole thing seems fake.

It sounds like Kerry vs. Bush
And what happened in November
But he’s referring to Iraq
A fact you should remember.

It reminds him of wrestling
Minus the occasional headlock
And also because he suspects
It won’t end in a deadlock.

My activist cyber pal swears
White House folks in the know
Picked Iraq’s election winner
A number of weeks ago.

You may think that he belongs
Atop some paranoid pinnacle
But he does make sense to me
It appears I’m just as cynical.
