Evangelicals Back Off Putting Muslim Children Orphaned by Tsunami in a Christian-Run Home

On 9-11, what if kids
Who lost their Mom and Dad
Were taken out of New York
And the lives they all had

Then flown to South Asia
On a very special mission
So they could be brought up
In the Islamic tradition?

The very fundamentalists
Whose idea was just dropped
Would have absolutely made
Damn sure that plan was stopped.

The lesson here is simple:
It’s more than a tad unwise
To think catastrophes are
A good time to proselytize.
