Half Empty or Half Full of It

by Tony Peyser

Around the globe and across our nation
He's developed quite a reputation.

Democrats have often found him reasonable
Neo-Cons call his actions treasonable.

But many of us have reason to scowl
On hearing the name Colin Powell.

Early on, we marveled how could he lie
About the massacre at My Lai.

And later we saw this fellow make
A stunning "error" about yellow cake.

Republicans in need of plausible denial
Have put Powell on top of their speed-dial.

In time I realized that his approval
Covered up for folks who deserved removal.

Powell has only has himself to thank ---
He's overdrawn at the credibility bank.
