Armageddon Blues (Vol. #2)
by Tony Peyser Revised 11-7-04
The Connecticut cowboy has attacked Iraq
Now that it's done there's no going back
It's an offer that we all tried to refuse
There's a question here and I'm gonna ask it:
Are you ready to go to Hell in a hand basket?
Oh Momma, I got them Armageddon blues.
Now that Iraq's in rubble, I guess Bush can
Cause more trouble and occupy Iran
That's a move the Neo-Cons think can't lose
He'll blow up Jordan's bunch of rowdies
But not his very good friends the Saudis
Oh Momma, I got them Armageddon blues.
After he's cornered all the Middle East oil
Bush'll start a war on other foreign soil
Rumsfeld says Europe is yesterday's news
Good-bye Germany and good-bye France
Canada and Mexico don't stand a chance
Oh Momma, I got them Armageddon blues.
He'll arrest trial lawyers and along the way
Get swift boat vets to smear the NEA
To insure The Rapture, Bush will help the Jews
Ain't Lady Liberty quite a babe!
What, me worry about Abu Graib?
Oh Momma, I got them Armageddon blues.
For sure this White House will also promise
More Supreme Court justices like Clarence Thomas
They'll make marriage an option gays can't choose
"
No Child Left Behind" will bite the dust
East Coast intellectuals will just combust
Oh Momma, I got them Armageddon blues.
Free speech will wind up in a body bag
Forget The Bill Of Rights --- just salute the flag
On Roe V. Wade, Bush just lit the fuse
Don't need money for stem cell research
Just praise the Lord and get cured at church
Oh Momma, I got them Armageddon blues.
The only folks left will be the extreme Right
Fox News the only channel day and night
Let's burn some books and break out the booze
If you're not like Bush, you didn't make the cut
Is this a great country club or what?
Oh Momma, I got them Armageddon blues.
