Charges Fly in Tight Kentucky Campaign

GOP Sen. Jim Bunning
Should have won this race with ease
But now that it's close he's peddling
Some rather spectacular sleaze.

Opponent Dan Mongiardo
Bunning's pals recently insisted
Is not merely a "bachelor" but
A fellow who is "limp-wristed."

A double standard applies to
Cheney's lesbian daughter Mary
Don't you dare label her that!
(But let's call this Democrat a fairy.)

The insult to injury is Bunning lately
Has so often been inclined
To make statements which suggest
He's literally losing his mind.

This gay-bashing strategy
Karl Rove has used before
Here's hoping it's one Kentuckians
Will wisely choose to ignore.
