Hall of Fame Pitcher is Turning into a Screwball Senator
by Tony Peyser

Currently up for re-election
Is Kentucky's Jim Bunning
But some folks now strongly feel
He shouldn't even be running.

He refused as he had promised
To do a live TV debate
Questions are being raised
About Bunning's mental state.

He's made weird pronouncements
Which have caused onlookers to gape
Bunning later denied making them
And was then told they were on tape.

He's being hidden from voters
And also from the press
Bunning's handlers see this as
The only way out of this mess.

If Bunning wins, he'll step down
And the governor will then agree
To appoint himself or someone
Who's a member of the GOP.

Bunning deserves a better last season
He's a warrior and true believer
But the pitcher in him must understand
It's time to bring in a reliever
