A woman heckled Laura Bush
With a loud verbal attack
About the death of her son Seth
Who'd been fighting in Iraq.

This grieving mom was hard to miss
As was her anguish and hurt:
" President Bush You Killed My Son"
Was written on her shirt.

The campaign crowd shouted her down
With very familiar jeers
(Rove thinks every problem's solved
By yelling "Four more years!")

Did Mrs. Bush try to console
This grieving, New Jersey mom?
Offer a prayer for her child
Who died disarming a bomb?

As she talked to supporters about
The attacks and Ground Zero
Did she remind the people there
This woman's son was a hero?

Did the mother in Mrs. Bush find
A compassionate thing to say?
No, she ignored Sue Niederer
Who was grabbed and hauled away.

November's just around the corner
But this is no time to give in:
Do you want these values to rule
The world that we all live in?
