Dear BuzzFlash, Today I read Howard Kurtz Media Notes in which he talked about Senator Daschle and his criticism of Rush Limbaugh, Mr. Kurtz dismisses the Senators comments and goes so far as to say that Rush is mainstream. Mainstream? Rush has in the past had many hysterical campaigns, not on issues as Mr. Kurtz states but against individuals. Name calling is Limbaugh's stock in trade, spending weeks in the early part of the Clinton administration discussing endlessly the evidence in the Vince Foster murder, the love affair between Vince Foster and Hillary Clinton. He has alleged that President Clinton was responsible for the deaths of political opponents, bringing in Jerry Falwell to back him up, Falwell was stirring the same pot at the time. Rush has made many attacks on the personal lives of public figures because they were democrats. It has been Rush who has done the most to make the word liberal a dirty word, and whipping hate in his audience that liberals are un-American and unpatriotic. Mr. Limbaugh has continually compared liberals with nazi's, saying that Hitler was not right wing but a left wing socialist. Read some history Mr. Limbaugh, and not the revisionist trash that you heard at some right-wing dinner party. Rush has made many racist remarks, continually mocking Black American leaders such as Jesse Jackson, Vernon Jordon and others. What he does vocally is the worst sort of race baiting. Limbaugh's show is not about political discussion, it is political attack and propaganda. There is no debate with Rush, there are no guests and only callers that march in lock step with him(ditto heads) are allowed. The only voice that Rush gives to his callers is the voice of agreement. The record can speak for itself Mr. Kurtz, Limbaugh inspires hatred in many of his audience and he does it intentionally. Has this country moved so close to the radical right that now even Rush is mainstream, God forbid. People like Mr.'s. Kurtz, Matthews, and Russert have all made efforts to make Rush palatable to the tastes of mainstream Americans in recent years. It seems to me that Senator Daschle was perfectly correct when he talked about Limbaugh wanna be's. Many of those wanna be's are in the media, they want the wealth and recognition that Limbaugh gets from the fringe. These men envy Rush his audience which liberal commentator could never get. Unlike Rush and his wanna be's, Liberal commentator's can be respected, but it is the nature of liberals to be free thinkers and innovators never in total agreement with anyone but always with a variety of opinion. Free thinking is Mr. Limbaugh's worst enemy. Rush complains constantly about a liberal media bias, that does not exist, in hopes of pushing the press further right, and it has worked. Limbaugh's audience are the base viewers of Fox News which itself is no more than Limbaugh lite. Senator Daschle in his comments was too kind, but then he is a gentleman. The truth is that Rush is radically right wing and an enemy of democracy. I remember Robert DePugh's Minute Men and the John Birch society, what Rush puts out is the same shit only warmed over and updated. Sincerely, Stephen Farris Dear BuzzFlash, GOP sends empty Christmas stocking to unemployed: http://quote.bloomberg.com/fgcgi.cgi?T=uspolitics_news.ht&s=APdxyQBdTQ29uZ3Jl What better illustration of the difference between Dems and the GOP. Bush refused to intervene. How is cutting off unemployment benefits supposed to stimulate the economy? just asking bakho Subj: Nightmarish Thoughts Dear BuzzFlash, Help, I'm in a nightmare and can't find my way out! Worse than that, most Americans are in the same nightmare and don't realize it. If someone came to me today and said that the democrats in congress are actually republicans who pulled one over on us, I'd believe it. What a thought! They sure fit the description... they kick up a fuss, then vote the president's heinous agendas in. Do they kick up a fuss to make it all look legitimate? That kind of fits the picture too. Oh Lord, please tell me thoughts like this are way off the wall! Are the democrats really spineless? Or are they actually republicans in democrat clothes? Something like that would be a relatively simple thing to do. Are we to wonder if Byrd and a handful of congress people are the only real democrats holding office? As I said, nothing would surprise me at this point. You have to admit it's a thought... a nightmarish thought! ~ Cathy Subj: Media Bias Dear BuzzFlash, In Palm Beach County we have an extraordinary talk show host, Randi Rhodes, on Clear Channel WJNO-AM (7:90 on the dial), from 3:00 pm to 7:00 PM immediately following Rush Limbaugh's syndicated show.
Randi's program is extremely popular. She provides so much information on politics, protesting going to war with Iraq and other various Republican agenda items, pointing us to websites to find out for ourselves. Her intelligence and passion prompted me early this year to start doing research on the Bush gang, and it was a rude awakening. You may have heard of Randi Rhodes already.
I read this week of Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Hillary Clinton (D-NY) discussing how the Democrats need to be better at getting their messages across on the media, both television and radio, including talk shows.
My point is this Randi Rhodes is an extremely powerful and popular voice for the Democrats in South Florida many of your readers might be familiar with her, as she posts BuzzFlash.com on her website. But Randi's dynamic program will probably never be syndicated, although syndication has been discussed at Clear Channel in the past. Whenever it is considered, according to Randi Rhodes' statements on-air Wednesday, November 20 - Rush Limbaugh personally calls the head of Clear Channel and threatens to pull his own syndicated program (also popular, in a twisted sort of way) if they syndicate Rhodes' program - and the executives, well, they can't risk that.
Media bias? Oh yeah. And the pressure, I'm sure, comes from many places. I and her loyal listeners are constantly vigilant that Randi's program, however popular, might be pulled off the air entirely in the present climate where everyone seems to be forgetting that this is the "Land of the Free." Until that happens, readers can listen to Randi Rhodes online at www.clearchannel.com.

Subj: What Now? Dear BuzzFlash, Okay Buzz, what do we do now? I called all my state's Dem. reps and urged them to support Pelosi (apparently they all did). But ever since she attained the minority leadership helm, she's sounded just like Dicky G. What the...? I've heard Pelosi give BushCorp hell in the past. Did they get to her, too? Is she afraid of dying in a plane crash? I don't know how else to explain the disappearance of her spine. I think we should acknowledge the fact that we now live in a corporatist dictatorship, headed by a corrupt "board of directors". All the evidence is there, but much like the stolen election most people are in denial, or are struggling too much with daily life to gnash teeth about it. Once the right-wing takes full control of the Senate, every tentacle of influence in the nation will be controlled by the corporate "might makes right" GOP. To wit, the major media; the executive branch; the senate; the house; the CIA and FBI; the Pentagon; and the judiciary. Any bastions of freedom left (e.g. the internet) will be gradually compromised as they consolidate control over our society and our lives. I want the America that the Declaration of Independence and Constitution says we're supposed to be. I want an America that looks like the one Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed about. But the way it looks now, God help you if you're not rich, white, Christian, Republican -- or any combination of the above. Mike
Kress Subj: Daschle and Dittohead Dear Buzz: I have been hearing about this for days. Obviously, dittohead is doing some ignorant impersonations of Daschle. He did those of Clinton, all the time he was in office and for a year after. Rush Limbaugh, in case anyone has not listened to him can get very disgusting, for a supposed christian!! He did one disgusting thing about Clinton buying Bathing suits for his wife and daughter when he was in South America. I had to turn that one off. He also said, of JFK, Jr....started his show this way, the day after he died..."Well, all the ladies in this country have found that not only does JFK, JR, not walk on water, he cannot even fly over it." I wish someone would get wise to that jackass and put him where he belongs, and it can't get low enough for me. It is the media, no doubt, that is in control of this country. I don't know what we can do to stop them, if I did I would do it. I am making a list of the advertisers of the Donahue show, so if he does lose it, I will write letters to boycott every last one of them. Will let you know. Shirley.............St.Louis PS: If you ever listen to this creep, he is obsessed with Sex!!!! Big fat tub of lard!!!!! Subj: 1) Rep. Ford 2) Returning to OFFENSE Dear BuzzFlash: Thought you might be interested. Regards, Frank * * * Dear House Minority Leader Pelosi: Congratulations on winning an historical first in the U.S. House of Representatives! I have every confidence in your ability to perform in that capacity admirably. After the recent election, I find myself extremely concerned over the course our party will take in the near future. Two thoughts came immediately to mind. First, I would strongly urge you to foster a close alliance with Rep. Ford. I believe that he is a person of intelligence and integrity. I also believe that he speaks the language of his generation. He has a drive and ambition which hopefully will be utilized to its full potential, and in conjunction with your own efforts, in renewing the Democratic Party. Second, it strikes me that the Democratic Party must start to take the initiative on all of the issues NOW!! One way to accomplish the retaking of the OFFENSE is to employ a method the Republicans have used over and over, to reach their goals. Basically, we need to determine which of several areas the Republicans are weakest...and start running negative ads NOW! Most democrats (including me) and the majority of voters, dislike negative advertising. There is however no way to skirt the fact that...IT WORKS! I am long past weary of watching democrats trying to run fair campaigns...and losing. If we are going to take the OFFENSIVE we're going to have to get down in the dirt and fight it out. And there is no time like the present to get started if we are to maintain any hope of regaining the House, the Senate or the Presidency. I simply cannot express how adamantly I feel about this. I do hope that you will give it some consideration. Congratulations, again! With great admiration,
Frank Kleshinski Subj: Alabama Election Theft Dear BuzzFlash, Everyone, and I mean, EVERYBODY, should be crying out for an investigation into the theft of Alabama's gubernatorial election. How on earth did those votes just disappear from the Democrat's column overnight? ma mimi Dear BuzzFlash, Did anyone else see the picture of Bush with a Champagne glass? Deborah Helle Subj: defense against Bush & Homeland Security Dear BuzzFlash, The thought has come to me, before they start reading our emails (maybe they already are), we should setup a network of safe xxxxxxxxxxxxx houses like was done during the Civil xxxxx War. What do you think? Karen Re: "They Misunderestimated Me!" 2003 Desk Calendar of Presidential (Mis)Speak Dear BuzzFlash, I have submitted seven (7) requests to this White House for a picture of the first couple for my collection, not because I like the idiot. Any way they ignore all of my requests. Guess I just don't have the dollar value they desire. Mary
Grasmick Subj: Freeps unconcerned over "1984" Dear BuzzFlash, I went to FR, their logo "Defending our Constitution" <gag me> and didn't see a damned word about the grand 1984 plan to emasculate the Bill of Rights. That proves the Freepers are all a bunch of sick frauds. I thought "for sure" I'd see at least one thing about it. Just one! Just something like "This big brother plan must go" or "Freepers, our rights are being violated." Not a word! All I really noticed was "boy eats snake" "Al Bore is back" "Daschle whines over Limbaugh" and the usual slams against Pelosi. Not a word from these infinite charlatans about the sacred Bill of Rights. They are just anti-Democrat; their site has little to do with the Constitution. They say they care, but it's all a front. Their silence is proof positive. Did you see anything, because I know you monitor FR? Mid [BuzzFlash Note: Actually, we don't monitor FR. The entire site is a complete waste of time.] Dear BuzzFlash: The election in Louisiana next month is HUGE for the Senate. I'm sure the GOP is going to pour money into the race. They will no doubt pull our every sleazy tactic in the book to try to paint Mary as unpatriotic. Mary can use all the help she can get. I'm sending her $50. Maybe your readers can help make a difference. http://www.marylandrieu.com/contribute.html Thanks, Jim Subj: Worried in NYC Dear BuzzFlash, How do you think the Homeland Security shit is going to affect you...everyday I turn people on to you guys, and they are relieved that you exist and freaked out of their minds about what's happening....you must be THE bane of existence for the Bush Cartel....are you protected? Everyone else is sounding more and more moribund by the second. What can we as readers and actual patriots do to help, aside from sending you money? PLEASE ADVISE. I know you're busy as hell, but.... Thanks from the bottom of my angst-ridden heart, Sally Subj: DASCHLE Needs to File Criminal/Civil Charges Dear BuzzFlash, Senator DASCHLE was brave to BREAK THE SILENCE about the death threats from wingnuts. And within HALF-hours of his statement, the usual wingnut spokesmen were on the air pooh-poohing the allegations: Brit HUME acting INCREDULOUS and SHOCKED that such a thing was even CONCEIVABLE, Fred BARNES claiming that LIMBAUGH was nothing more than a FOLLOWER in politics (thereby showing how out of touch BARNES is), and lately Howard KURTZ claiming that LIMBAUGH is JUST an entertainer. Then there was, as night follows day, the predictable LIMBAUGH marathon of self-congratulation for being acknowledged as the FORCE he is. He was egomaniacally eager to claim his rightful place as THE LEADER in the wingnut movement while at the same time NEVER TAKING RESPONSIBILITY for what he KNOWS is true, that any number of his adherents are fully capable of the threats. O.K., the Senator took his baby step by opening the subject, but if he does NOT GO FURTHER, the whole subject will be swept away in pooh-poohing, ridicule, callings of "whining" and "desperation" and "sour grapes". It is not JUST the anthrax letters. He said, and we know it's true, that there are NUMBERS of threats, the numbers increasing when LIMBAUGH peaks his personal attacks. Surely each threat has been INVESTIGATED by law enforcement. Surely not all of them canNOT be traced to SOME IDENTIFIABLE SOMEBODY. Senator DASCHLE needs to MAKE THE EVIDENCE PUBLIC. Criminal and civil charges MUST be filed. Too bad the Dems don't have control of conducting hearings, because HEARINGS are just what are needed------with the targets and investigators TESTIFYING. Otherwise, Senator DASCHLE might as well have not talked at all. John Garza To the Honorable Prime Minister Jean Chretien, I read with great interest and amusement how one of your senior officials called George W. Bush a "moron". All I can say to this, Mr. Prime Minister is that many of us here in the United States feel the same exact way. Yeah, he is a moron but built up to be a leader such as Pres. Franklin Roosevelt was by our own media. FDR must roll in his grave every time someone equates this moron with his leadership. Just imagine what he would be like if he did not have the media propping him up or those in his administration doing the same thing. Wait, I take that back, it would be horrific, Sir. What really makes me smile is everywhere Mr. Bush goes, protesters are not far behind or are ready to greet him. When President Clinton made his travels around the world both during and after his presidency, he is met with supporters. Tells you something about both men. One is highly intelligent (Clinton), the other is a complete moron (bush). It is times like these, Sir how many such as me, wish we could go back to the good ole Clinton/Gore years. When we had eight great years of peace and prosperity, Sir. Sincerely, Mary
MacElveen Subj: Hillary Slams Bush, Preps for 2004 BuzzFlash, Figure this one. This is the second type mailing I've received from the goofballs. I did not subscribe to this trash. This tells me the Pubs are very afraid of H. Clinton. They went to extremes to discredit her when she was 1st Lady and continue to today. A lot of it stuck. In my area of the country, Ms. Clinton is viewed as the boogey man. She really ought to sue them for defamation of character. She ought to take NewsMax to court and others like them and make them prove their allegations. That would do more for the democrats than anything. For once the democrats need to stop the propaganda machines in this country. These propagandists have wide audiences and I believe they have brought democrats down with a thud. They need to be fought. Hey, Carol Burnett did it! Why not Hillary and other dems. who are being crucified by propagandists? If they don't stop these people, all the campaigning in the world may as well be flushed down the toilet! This is how the GOP operates... they put out smear campaigns, so that if a democrat wants to run for office, their reputation has already preceded them through lying propagandists. ~ Cathy [BuzzFlash Note: This is the last mailbag entry, in the event you choose not to read the garbage below from Newsmax.
