To my fellow Floridians, I have read several letters from irate, disenchanted Reno supporters. Was this a McBride conspiracy? I think not! Was this a republican conspiracy? I don't know, but I wouldn't put anything past them. Whoever wins the nomination (we should know Tues.), I pray that we all get behind the candidate to beat Jeb in November. For those who think that Reno would have no problem beating Jeb, I have to say that my brother, who works for the public school system, cannot stand Jeb and what he has done to the public schools. At the same time he has told me that he would vote for McBride, but could never bring himself to vote for Janet Reno in the general election. My brother-in-law who worked for the Florida Dept. of Motor Vehicles quit his job because of the way Jeb has handled the DMV has told me that he would do anything to beat Jeb in November, but would vote for Jeb if Reno was the democratic candidate. If people think that the 2000 elections were dirty, just wait and see what happens in Florida. All stops will be pulled out to re-elect Jeb to save an embarrassment to dumbya. God help us all if the GHP (grand hypocrisy party) gets control. Vote Democratic in November. Daniel Spencer Dear BuzzFlash, At a fund raiser in Nashville, Tennessee, GW Bush raised 1 million dollars for Lamar Alexander and told his audience that this was "the war for determining civilization"! After GW is scheduled to visit an elementary school to say the pledge of allegiance with the children. Should we take cover? Nancy PS other important info regarding W's visit: Protestors were put in a "first amendment zone" far away from the convention center and Bob Clement, a Democrat running for US Senator in Tennessee, will be riding back to Washington with GW Bush on Air Force One! Dear Buzz, Floridians shouldn't feel embarrassed over the fiasco of their most recent elections. Floridians are not the laughing stock of America and the world. Jeb Bush is whom everyone laughs at, followed closely by Katherine "Cruella" Harris. Not even Saturday Night Live's parody of them could get more laughs. And for some good and loyal Democrats to want to forget the election joke by asking Janet Reno to drop her demands for a recount would be to allow the criminality of the Republican selected election officers to pass unnoticed. Thanks to Janet Reno keeping the media's and the American people's attention on the barbaric machinations of the Repugs' "new and improved" and "reformed" electoral process, we can now pay much more attention to our own elections in November and in 2004. Just because they say the broken system is fixed is no reason to believe them. Remember, it's Floridians who kept counting after Bush took office and it's Floridians who told us Al Gore is our legitimate President. Let the people who elected "Cruella" learn how embarrassed they will be when she screws up again and again. And let Jeb Bush be embarrassed at the kind of father he is that he can't even see Noelle's need for his attention. He will protect her now, but will he help her? While he and his brother talk the big talk about family values, it seems their daughters are showing us a different story. Jenna, Barbara and Noelle aren't monsters. These are young women who are just starting out in life who have chosen the slow suicide of alcoholism and drug addiction. They deserve the caring sympathy and understanding that all drug addicts and alcoholics should have. These young women show us the dark side of being the children of privileged law breaking fathers whose sole ambition is to get as much power as they can and at whatever cost. A cost that appears to include the forfeiture of their own children's well-being. Jeb's tears don't convince many. Judith
Foster, Subj: Does Dubya Know Who He Is? Dear BuzzFlash: Now President Junior is being compared to Andrew Jackson. To recap, in his eighteen months of White House residency, he has been compared to Presidents Washington, Eisenhower, Roosevelt (Teddy and FDR), JFK, Reagan, and now Jackson. Why aren't our press whores asking the obvious, doesn't he know who he is? Chaz in Eugene Dear BuzzFlash, "We've made it very clear that we are not in the business of negotiating with Saddam Hussein," said White House communications director Dan Bartlett." Did any of us ever think for a moment that Bush would "negotiate"? He wants a war with Iraq. It's good for his buddies in the oil business and the defense business. Do you remember the first Sunday after 9/11, on his return from Camp David, Bush was strolling across the lawn after departing his helicopter, and someone asked him about the Taliban offering Bin Laden, if Bush would show proof that Bin Laden was responsible for 9/11? Bush said, "I don't negotiate with terrorists." Now Bush had just given the Taliban $43 million in the spring of 2001 for "aid" and Cheney had met with a representative of the Taliban. Bush had no intentions of "negotiating" because it was about the Caspian Sea pipeline, not anything moral. The war in Afghanistan was all about oil and so is Iraq. He wants a war with Iraq so he can control the oil. It doesn't matter that it will cost from $1 to $2 billion and the loss of countless lives. These are ruthless and greedy men running our government. They will stop at nothing to "rule the world" by controlling the oil. Gigi Dear BuzzFlash, I find it amazing that members of the Bush administration continue to found in contempt of court, flaunt the law.....and no one is calling for impeachment. If this was the Clinton administration the Republicans would be taking volunteers for the firing squad. Alan Subj: The "Get Smart" Administration Dear BuzzFlash, Back in the '60's, Don Adams played that bumbling secret agent Maxwell Smart. One of his most popular sayings was - "we were this close!" Over the past two years this phrase could quite aptly be used as a lead-in to the many Bush Administration missteps. Here are a few examples: ~ We were this close - a 10 year budget surplus projection of $5.6 trillion dollars is now down to $400 billion ~ We were this close - after being strong-armed by the White House, Jim Jeffords becomes an Independent in May 2001, giving control of the Senate to the Democrats ~ We were this close - supposedly, the day after 9/11 an NSA intercept that may have tipped us off was finally deciphered ~ We were this close - two weeks after 9/11, we are told that John Ashcroft and Robert Mueller finally catch wind of the Rowley and Phoenix memos concerns ~ We were this close - in October 2001, high ranking Taliban and al Qaeda officials in a convoy are targeted by a drone, but the order to take them out was too late; instead, we kill a convoy of liberation celebrants in a subsequent sortie ~ We were this close - in December 2001, bin Laden is trapped in Tora Bora, but somehow slips past our conscripts ~ We were this close - by vote after vote of 10 to 9, Bush's conservative crazies can't get confirmation to the bench ~ We were this close - with U.S. support, Chavez was ousted in Venezuela, but only for a day ~ We were this close - Saddam Hussein agrees to unfettered U. N. inspections of his weapons of mass destruction, bringing to a screeching halt the momentum of Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld war juggernaut At least for Smart, things always worked out in the end. For this current covert crew of conspirators, it has become apparent that very little will ever go right. Not only for their own selfish interests, but unfortunately not for our once peaceful and prosperous land either. YT Cai Dear BuzzFlash, These articles are all from the archives but they are incredibly accurate. To look at them now is a real revelation and a scary one. I have feared world domination by the US at some point but did not realize it is totally upon us and is being so readily accepted by the American public. This first article below really spells out the world order that they are determined to have. More of my comments below. http://www.tompaine.com/feature.cfm/ID/5455 http://www.tompaine.com/feature.cfm/ID/5928 http://www.tompaine.com/feature.cfm/ID/5545 http://www.tompaine.com/feature.cfm/ID/4725 I was in Washington D. C. and was a participant in a group that Jack Kemp spoke to. Kemp made the first announcement to us of Reagan's budget for the military. Now this was 1986. Jack Kemp was so pleased with himself to be able to tell us what the budget was. I was seated and he loudly announced that it was $2 TRILLION or $3 TRILLION. I just cannot remember which number that it was but I know it was one of those amounts. All I remember is I almost fell off my chair. I could not believe it. I thought a mistake had been made-some idiot typed in too many zeros. But no, it was the announcement and it was correct. However, Congress did not go along with this amount at that time and it was reduced to a semblance of reasonableness. Now I have to believe that Reagan was actually suffering from Alzheimer's at that time-no one in their right mind would have been projecting that even if we had of been in WW3. Nothing justified that amount. But put all of this together and it all makes sense. This is not going to be US domination, it is going to be Carlyle Group, Bush, Cheney, etc. domination. No doubt about it. Henry Subj: Go Aaron Brown Dear BuzzFlash, Did anybody hear Aaron Brown describe the Bush Iraq situation to that of Wyle E. Coyote? Funny as hell! He said the Bush administration must be feeling like Wyle E. Coyote after he has rigged some flight contraption to catch the road runner and shoots past the bird to realize he is headed for a great big boulder. It probably wasn't the exact example, but I recalled the various Wyle E. scenarios and laughed my behind off! Go Aaron! PJOnes Dear BuzzFlash, You have got it all wrong! Katherine Harris becoming a member of congress is going to be great! She is such an idiot that it will be fine sport indeed to watch her fall on her behind. The only people who we should feel sorry for are her future constituants. M.H. Julie Dear BuzzFlash, If you ask me the only regime change needed is in Washington! Thank you, Hunter Richards Dear Buzz, From the Reader of the Hungry Caterpillar: The Bush administration showed not the slightest indication to heed entreaties from Russia and France each with veto power over any Council resolution and Arab countries to take Iraq's offer at face value. Pressing his argument with Americans, Mr. Bush set the tone by warning schoolchildren in Tennessee, "You can't be fooled again." Is it safe to leave this man alone with our kids? Not only is he frightening adults, he now has school children checking for the Boogie Saddam under the bed. ~Antonia Dear BuzzFlash, CALL TO ACTION! STAY INFORMED! Call in your support for Senator Byrd's amendment to Homeland Security. Again, corporate media has cleverly kept hidden news that are vital to American citizen interests. The truth is, Homeland Security could change our lives forever! Congress is in turmoil in last three weeks, with Bush beating Congress into submission with an array of admonishments. I turned on CSPAN today, and there was Senator Byrd, brooding over the attempts of "this administration" to admonish Congress into--again--passing more legislation that tramples the constitution, this time, Homeland Security. He offered an amendment that ensures Congress stays involved to protect civil rights, worker rights, checks and balances, and Congressional control of purse. Byrd stated explicitly that the Senate was abdicating its responsibility to protect American citizens from the dangers of tyranny. He warned the Senate against giving unlimited authority to the executive branch, against giving up its essential role in holding the purse. Senator Byrd wondered aloud whether anyone out there is listening, in spite of his constant attempts to come to the floor to capture the "attention" of the public, his colleagues, the media. He wondered whether his feelings, like a voice in the wilderness or tree falling in the forest with no to hear, were real or imagined. He was perplexed as his colleagues were not also raising serious constitutional concerns with regard to the manner in which Homeland security is worded at present. He listed a long list of dangerous actions taken by Ashcroft and this administration, their obsession with secrecy, constant attempts to grab powers for executive branch, abort checks and balances of the constitution, stating that this made it even more necessary to ensure this administration was closely guarded and curtailed from secrecy. He warned that this administration must not be trusted, must be watched carefully, citing example after example, including the administrations formation of a secret government without the knowledge of Congressional leaders. He stated neither the House bill and Lieberman bill grant the executive branch new authority without ensuring that Congress remains invovled in the process. His amendment ensures Congress continues to play a role, that Homeland Security is established in phases, and that Congress plays important oversight role in each phase. His amendment gives Congress responsibility to sift through the details of Homeland Security to ensure that constitutional protections of workers rights, civil rights are protected, and means of quickly addressing problems that may arise at each phase. The bill forces the administration to come back to Congress, thus, protects Americans from the hazy plans and secrecy that the administration has a penchant for. He warned Congress against muzzling itself by giving the entire Homeland Security project to the administration without oversight, and how this would potentially jeopardize the rights of law abiding citizens. That Congress must insist on protecting the rights of citizens, of workers, of controlling the purse of congress, checks and balances from being dismantled. '"The Constitution," said Senator Byrd, "is the most important document in nation's history, bar none. We have a responsibility to get it right. In our zeal to get rid of terrorism, we must not dismantle the fortress of constitutional law. The power of the purse was given to Congress, the people's elected representatives, and public must be kept informed about how those funds are spent." STAY INFORMED! Turn off major media news! Chewgababy Subj: 9.11 Voices What If You Had To Tell The President? Dear SFGate.com, Your article is factually incorrect. Please watch the video of what happened at the Booker Elementary School on the morning of September 11, 2001. The school had the video posted for almost a year but for some unexplained reason, shortly before all of the 9/11 remembrance stories started to appear the video was taken off of their web site. However, all is not lost - the video is available at http://www.BuzzFlash.com/analysis/2002/06/12_BookerLinks.html. President Bush did not excuse himself within seconds of being told about the second attack. It is quite a long video, and it clearly shows the actual sequence of events. Mr. Bush sat there for quite some time before he left the classroom. You see, he had to wait for his speech to arrive before he could do anything. It took about half an hour for his speech to arrive. So he had nothing better to do than sit there & listen to the children's story. Please, just watch the video, then correct your story. Or if you can't correct the story, at least point out that what Mr. Card is claiming is just plain false (a lie). When Al Gore made these small kinds of errors, the media was quick to call him a liar, I don't think the Republicans should be shown any special favors. Thank you. Linda
Kekumu Dear Buzz: In response to "Abiding Anger" I received the following message:
Isn't that interesting. A right wing nut wants to talk about justice. Okay, where is the justice in Bush jumping ahead of 500 others on a waiting list to get into the Texas Air National Guard and then running out on his committment? Where is the justice in exagerating or lying about his record as Texas governor during campaign 2000? He stated that he supported legislation that was made law over his veto or without his signature. Where is the justice in lying about Al Gore and Democratic positions? Where is the justice in not supporting the counting of votes in Florida or in having voters' rights taken away by illegally scrubbing their names as felons? Where is the justice in campaigning as a "compassionate conservative" and then cutting social programs upon obtaining office? Where is the justice in rounding up citizens who want to express their Constituional right to dissent and forcing them into fenced in areas? Where is the justice in allowing the energy conglomerates to set national energy policy? Where is the justice in Dick Cheney's refusal to turn over documents on this energy policy? Where is the justice in not wanting an open investigation into the tragedy of 9/11? I think we Democrats have quite a good grasp of what justice means. Wasting millions of taxpayer monies to hound a president for eight years, submitting a report to Congress in which the original complaint is barely mentioned, but sex is mentioned over 500 times, and charging a president with perjury is not justice. It is a perjury trap! It is a partisan witch hunt intended to bring down a Democratic president! I could go on, but you get the picture. Rebecca Knight |
