"We suspect BuzzFlash is at the head of the list for the "disappeared-to-be."
And all of us who read BuzzFlash and share it's point of view. Have you ever thought that maybe it's time to get out of Dodge? I'm leaving tonight for Panama to check it out as a possible place to "escape" to.
Bravo. Standing ovation. You and I are of one mind.
Below, for your interest, is a quote I copied from William L. Shirer's "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, A History of Nazi Germany." Since the Bush Family once trafficked with the Nazi's (Prescott Bush was prosecuted under the USA's "Trading with the Enemy Act"), and the GOP was, and still is infiltrated by Nazis/Third Reich, I think the following is highly relevant:
Pg. 194, "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, A History of Nazi Germany," by William L. Shirer. From the Chapter, "The Nazification of Germany." Hitler, as newly appointed Chancellor of Germany, allegedly arranged the burning down of the Reichstag on February 27, 1934.

It seems to me that what Bush and Ashcroft are really trying to do with this insane TIPS program is GET VOTES!!!! They're officially deputizing a mammoth citizen's posse to "smoke 'em out." And they'll even provide them with some kind of official insignia, I understand.
But I truly don't think they care about or expect to learn anything from the program. They probably won't even try to process or follow up on all the paranoid calls they are sure to receive. They have nowhere near the facilities to do this. But just think of all the enthusiastic clowns who are SURE to vote for them.
Of course, if you're working to help Bush prevent terrorism, you're certainly NOT going to vote against him. And enthusiastic "team members" are the kind that make it their business to vote.
The whole idea is VILE, but it's real purpose is insidious and sinister!!! Its real aim is not to detect terrorists.............it's to insure votes!!! They're counting on the gullibility of the ordinary citizen, and they have absolutely no respect for the intelligence of Americans.
This administration clearly has no sense of decency!!!

I just finished reading your interview with Mark Crispin Miller and it was wonderful--thank you. I am writing to point out that Clinton was actually misquoted about his "lie" and I hope Mark didn't misquote him in his book. Clinton actually said, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman," he did not say as Mark quoted him in this article, "I did not have sex with that woman." I remember this well because in his testimony, the definition of "sex" vs. "sexual relations" was relevant to the case. I frankly didn't care WHAT he did with "that woman"--he's the best president we've had in this century!! Just thought I'd add some clarification that you may want to share with Mark or the BuzzFlash readers. Thanks again for all the wonderful things you do to keep us informed of the REAL TRUTH!!

In April of 2001, a private company signed a 99 year commercial lease with the Port Authority, a government agency, for the WTC site. At the time, Port Authority officials and Republican Governor Pataki of New York praised the deal as welcome privatization.
As a result, however, the WTC site will be rebuilt along commercial lines. The memorial area for the WTC victims will be quite small. Contrary to earlier hopes, it's now clear that the footprints of the towers will not be preserved in the memorial area.
I am not a lawyer. Do not take this as legal advice.
If the Posse Comitatus Act is repealed, the military will have the power to make arrests. If the National Guard is federalized, it will become an arm of the military. If both are done, National Guard troops will have the power to arrest American citizens. This represents a dire threat to civil liberties.
What's with this administration's sudden turnaround in their interest to undo the "posse comitatus" law? To help fight terrorists? Yea, right! It sure looks like they expect some major, nationwide civil unrest soon. Maybe, like next year?
And now Bush wants to be given the Homeland Security checkbook. Are our elected (maybe soon to be unelected if they don't get a backbone) representatives in Congress going to stand up for us on this? Or are they stupid enough to go for these latest power grab attempts by Bush and Co.? Let's hope not.

Don't know if you carried this story before, but it might be a good tie in to get sales up for "Forbidden Truth." A front page Article from the Jan 20 Wa. Post, it describes the months it took to write up the Nation Security Directive, all the warnings they were getting, and how little attention Bush & Co. wanted to pay to them...
Strategy's Cautious Evolution
Is there any chance of a commentary covering how much the administration did know before the intelligence committee rules that they didn't? We have the rank and file with all their info, we have the administration planning to go to war, was this really a crisis in middle management to put it together?
When Republicans wasted $70 million of the American worker's money on a witch trial for the Clintons, uncovering absolutely nothing about Whitewater, they called it justice. When Democrats want to ask questions about Harken, Republicans call that partisanship. Don't the Republicans realize that people are getting sick of hearing their blatant double standard all the time?
Tonight (Thursday) as I write Ann Coulter is being torn apart by Donahue. Go Phil. It will be re-aired a couple times tonight.

I suggest that all your readers be urged to volunteer. I did, and they (instantly) sent me this email.

Thank you for your interest in Citizen Corps.
"...During the Wall Street insider trading scandals of the 1980s, Pitt gained a reputation as a powerful securities lawyer for his defense of clients such as speculator Ivan Boesky, who plead guilty in exchange for a lesser sentence in the 1988 Savings & Loan insider trading trials...."
Well, now if you can't trust a man like Harvey, who in this administration could you trust?
Let me say first that I am not a public school teacher. I have been a volunteer in the schools and I have seen some realities, including the fact that most of the teachers I work with are extremely dedicated. Incidentally, they buy school supplies out of their own pockets on very meager budgets. Besides this, some teachers, especially those on emergency certification, are taking classes on weekends and in the evenings. A while back, when Bush was busy hitting golf balls at some swanky resort, the National Education Association was having its convention. I remember my husband remarking that he should have attended that convention instead of golfing if he really cared to find out what was going on in the schools. He may have been able to propose an act that actually was aimed at helping children, had he the savvy to talk with and listen to teachers instead of talking about them as though they were evil individuals who didn't deserve communication. As a result of his being unwilling to listen, the reality of his Elementary and Secondary Education Act is that is leaves the poorest children behind. Here is just one way that the ESEA hurts the poor and leaves the rich unharmed. In Title I schools, which comprise the schools in the poorest areas, personnel offices can no longer hire teachers on emergency certification. The act says only the best teachers, those with full certification, can work there. That sounds great, but here's the rub. Emergency certification used to allow a teacher to work in an area while they were given one year to complete certain certification requirements. For instance, an engineer could teach math in a school if no certified math teacher could be found. The thing that was not thought out before this act was passed was that there is a reason districts were offering emergency certification. It is because the districts could not find teachers certified in a specific field. Otherwise they would not have issued the emergency certification in the first place. Now, instead of those students being served by someone who at least knows math, they will have no teacher at all, and the classes will be filled with subs, causing turnover, where a child may experience ten different subs in one year. The reason this hurts the poor more than the rich is that the Title I schools are in the poorer areas. In the richer areas, Title I is not applicable, so if a district wants to hire teachers on emergency certification, it can. This leaves the poorest schools, where there was the most critical need for teachers in the first place, in a worse position than they were in before. You would have thought that Bush would have thought this through before taking a hammer to schools which were already struggling to find teachers.
I watched Phil Donahue tonight and his guest was the surly Ann Coulter-and the cat just smoked her right and left-I've never been so damn proud-he didn't give a word in edge wise and he was up to date with every question -she didn't stand a chance -about all she could get in was "I'm here to promote this latest book" and boom Phil would hit her with a most penetrating question that would leave her speechless-if the cat was running for president he would surely have my vote and AMERICA at long last we have a voice-I dare all you little sissies to tune in and watch his most apropos gun slingin' show- man it's about time somebody with some informed balls took the damn stage!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have info about Ann Coulter's background? Has she ever been hospitalized for mental instability? What about her family.....what do former friends and co-workers have to say about her? I honestly think that the woman is mentally ill!! She has a strange look about her, she wears these short (itty, bitty, unbecoming) clothes, and she makes up lies without blinking! Of course her new book is number one because right-wingers support one another (unlike independents and Democrats). The fact that so-called reputable news organizations have her on TV is despicable. Of course there is the possibility that she is just EVIL! Regardless, the woman is sickening.
hey buzzflash folks --
congratulations on bringing the good stuff every day. if you could spare the space may i suggest promoting the http://www.extremeashcroft.com web site. a few days ago a friend told me about the site and the petition to president bush demand a resignation from our spooky attorney general. i have been passing the url on to everybody i know; there is quite the "buzz." gracias.
Just wanted to thank you for efforts in getting the real news out, and for keeping some pressure on the shrub.
The Bush Administration wants us to give up our rights, in the fight against terrorism. Now it is time for the Bush administration to give up some answers.
My question came to mind, at the same time it came to most people of reasonable mind, when the second jet hit the twin towers. I kept scanning the sky on the television screen looking for the Air Force
So before this administration takes our right to question government, here is my question to the commander in chief, "How is it possible for a small group of men to gain command of the skies over America for one and a half hours?
This should be easy to answer, since I and most would believe that it is the first and foremost failure of government since the moment that the second jet hit, and we all knew that America was under attack.
Bush is commander of our air national defense, NORAD, so the buck stops with him, he cannot blame Clinton for this. And he cannot buck this responsibility. It is not something anyone would enjoy having to do, but it is his responsibility, and he is the one who stole the job. So I say, buck up to the plate and explain to the American people why, when we were under attack and looked to the skies, all we saw were enemy jets.
So tell us commander, . . .commander . . commander. Has anyone seen - oh no, is he AWOL again?
If he doesn't come back and answer this question, I suggest we all use one of our remaining rights, one that we can truly use to fight terrorism; our right to petition/demand our representatives to represent us by impeaching this unquestionable servant of the people. This might be the biggest blow to terrorism.
This would also prove what I've been thinking for a long time -- we as Americans cannot fight or defend anything by giving up our rights. Our might comes from our rights and the American people need to learn this because, I assure you, the Bush administration knows it.
Buzz, if you desire, you can post this message, it would be an honor for me to join you in your efforts and give this administration a dose of my right to freedom of speech.
Thank you, most sincerely,
Just read Nicolas Kritof's "Case of the Missing Anthrax"....doesn't beg the question a bit?
Isn't the Army the source of the rumor of anthrax in Iraq? Aren't they also the party most likely responsible for the anthrax missing/used in DC?
Isn't it obvious that the Army (and who knows who else in the DOD) had a hand in both?
Isn't that why they won't/can't investigate? Isn't that the reason this has become a dead issue in the press?
Now, if I were a dittohead I would say, "I am sure they (the army) would come forth as freely as W., Dickey, general White(wash) and Kenny boy, had there been an inappropriate act committed! Wouldn't they?"
Wouldn't they now?

I fired this off to The Washington Post columnist, Jim Hoagland, last night after watching him on the Charlie Rose show.
David Podvin's article on the stock market is probably the most incisive and important article I have ever read on the topic. I recommend that you upgrade it to "MUST READ."

[BuzzFlash Note: Thanks, we did.]
Do you have any neighbors that you don't like?
Well, now you can get rid of them.
Go to this government site here www.citizencorps.gov
Sign-up and you can get rid of all the folks you want to.. it's easy!
And if they do pick-up that pesky neighbor, don't worry about retaliation. They won't get a lawyer and many times they are not even allowed a phone call.
Even if their family inquires to the authorities at Homeland Security, they don't even have to tell them if they have the person in jail.
So when your asshole neighbor disappears and the kin folk come around asking questions, just say.. 'nope, haven't seen her.'
And that's it! All problems are solved!
Ain't America great!
PS I hope no one is pissed at you, though.

Ann Coulter's persona on several interview shows that she has appeared on, reminds me of a Martin Short character on Saturday Night Live. I recall an extremely anxious, perspiring, chain smoking defender of a corporate evil doer struggling under tough questioning, to justify his client's evil doings. Kind of like Ann, defending the right sided, former evil doers in the Bush administration doing to the taxpayers exactly what they did to the investors in their corporations.
[BuzzFlash Note: If memory serves, the scene of which you wrote was a parody of 60 Minutes.]
My theory re: bush's monster paper clip is it is an attempt to keep the class clown from smirking and/or laughing. Having no self-control, he needs a physical aid to keep himself in line.
