Everybody reported that Bush made a joke about Cheney "peeing" but this Post article makes it seem as if the joke was much more off-color. Note that when a man pees, he looks down at what he is doing, not through a peephole.
[BuzzFlash Note: A man with a heart condition shouldn't be exerting himself like that.]
Below is an open letter I'm sending to CBS News today:
So Karen, Laura and Jenna are going traveling.
It's a sure bet Hughes has an agenda and Laura/Jenna are the cover.
This may not have the draw of recent "campaign" to the Washington Post ... God Bless MWO!
some people might take a moment to let Yahoo News know that we count too!
And, we would appreciate their noticing.
Remember seeing the Dolt-in-Chief carrying Bias? Check this out. Too funny in the most pathetic way
here: The New York Observer (from WH Correspondence Dinner)
Today on TV I saw "Dubya" twice....once he reached out and shook hands with a little black girl and then he also picked up a little black girl and hugged her.......do you think this is playing "the race card" Is he "USING" the children of black parents........hmmmm just wondering?
How about a link to Fritz's zingers at Rumsfeld? Basically, on the topic of Defense spending, with Fritz trying to influence spending:
This article shows that itches and scratches are being exchanged between the office of Katherine Harris and the Bush administration (who heartily thank Ms. Harris for their current positions) and further shows why the public trust has been eroded.
Let it be known that the Bush Administration has done yet another "bait and switch" tactic. On Friday, the Bushies had to act like Rumsfeld was against the Crusader (lie lie lie) and they had to act like White was in deep shit (another game) - with this obfuscation, they could get rid of someone that may have been bothering them - KENNETH A. STEADMAN, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS
this link to see what concerned Mr. Steadman:
Your readers need to understand that whatever this group of thieves is out to sell them will ring as more hollow lies. If they say they are "for" something, watch for whatever "it" is to disappear. If they say they are "against" something, wait for it to happen.
The truth about these people, is they are dishonest and are a bunch of pathological liars.
From Susan Threadgill's monthly column "Who's Who", The Washington Monthly Online May 2002:
If we all concentrated our thoughts and prayers, could we gin up a good tsunami?
Worth a try.
On September 11, 2001 America suffered the single most devastating terrorist attack ever perpetrated on our nationís soil, enveloping our citizens with sorrow, fear, and anger. America showed her usual strength as we pulled together in denouncing the barbaric attitudes of those who could carry out such a hateful plan.
In the months that followed, as Americans had time to contemplate the enormity of the planning involved in such a well-coordinated attack, the natural thought progression led to serious questions. However, few had the courage to speak of their questions or doubts regarding the details of the attack as released by our government or reported by the media. Patriotic Americans did not come to these positions easily. Indeed, Americans have firmly believed in the principles that have characterized this nation for generations, reasonable actions taken by reasonable men and women elected to office by reasonable voters.
Gradually, courageous individuals began to ask forbidden questions. Ordinary citizens, elected officials, and some in the media became inquisitive about the details, questioning apparent inconsistencies, and calling for Congressional investigations. These individuals were met with cries of "traitor, anti-American, terrorist sympathizer, conspiracy nut, or loony" which, in a free society, should chill the very heart of every citizen. Vitriolic attacks such as these should be recognized for what they are, a subversive way to discredit inquisitive points of view and disrupt the efforts of those who support investigations.
When did America change so? When did it become wrong to speak out? The very essence of Americaís democracy hinges on the right of all citizens to speak freely, openly, and, yes, critically. An open government should not only want an investigation of the terrorist attacks, it should vigorously pursue one Ė even demand one! Too many unanswered questions remain, not the least of which is the intelligence failure that allowed this to occur on our soil. Only through rigorous scrutiny of these attacks can we ever hope to prevent more in the future. This is not a matter of being unpatriotic. This is a matter of common sense, self-preservation, and the preservation of our beloved America.
The Bush administration, rather than welcoming an investigation, has attempted to subvert the efforts of Congressional leaders to establish investigative committees. If Watergate, Iran/Contra, Whitewater, Filegate, Travelgate, Monicagate, natural disasters, plane crashes, etc. warrant public inquiries, why doesn't a terrorist attack of this magnitude? What possible reason could they have for opposing an investigation? Why would anyone oppose such an investigation? Is there something to hide?
American citizens who express our desire for this investigation do so
with loving hearts swelled with patriotic pride, for we have experienced
the very essence of the best of American citizenship and we hope to do
so again. So, donít pin any undeserved labels on us simply because we
ask for the right to have our voices heard regarding the truth of this
tragedy. To do so would be the true unpatriotic act, for it would dishonor
all the heroes of our past who have challenged America to be its best
and brightest throughout her history!
A little more on Newt and his annulment request. Not a lot, but Marianne is writing a book, we can only hope it tells all. Plus this story says he was cheating on Marianne for 7 years, not 6. Kind of runs in the republican family, but for them it is ok.

[BuzzFlash Note: Here it is: The phony crisis]
Bush has once more proven that he cares nothing about the American people. He will continue to bow to corporate America and special interest groups. The ones that "brung him to the dance" and paid for his rise to the presidency are the only ones that count at the Bush White house. His interpretation of the Constitution that makes it easier to get guns and "bear arms" is totally reckless and irresponsible and is proof positive that he is repaying the N.R.A. at the risk of American lives. Instead of tightening standards, he has once more lowered the bar to please his campaign contributors. These are dangerous times in America and Bush has done little to protect the American people. This latest act is a complete disregard for the safety of all of us.
This is more than absurd, its Blatant!
MWO got another plug on CNN's Crossfire, and yet again, CNN LIES about the website!
What is it with CNN reporters and their total fear of a media accountability website?
First CNN reported to their viewers that Mediawhoresonline.com was 'media horse'. Then after the media accountability site was quoted again on Crossfire, CNN reported the website to their unsuspecting audience as 'MediaHorizons.com'.
MWO gets quoted on Crossfire again, what does the crack news staff at
CNN do? ...
This is too much.. we have GOT to do something about this!!!
Why is the Cable News Network so afraid of a media accountability website that they cannot and will not even say their NAME?? CNN is obviously terrified of anyone who holds them accountable.
We have got to do something! Consider this our own 'war on terror', that is.. CNN's 'terror' that they may be held accountable to tell the Truth!
TAKE 5 MINUTES and DO THIS....
Send an email to the CNN, ask them why they have repeatedly lied about anyone who holds them accountable.
Ask CNN if they are charging unsuspecting viewers money for their transcripts that are EDITED with repeated FALSE information?
Ask them if it is now routine CNN policy to lie and cover up any website or person that scrutinizes their reporting?
EMAIL TO: email@example.com (CNN President Walter Isaacson)
Email CBS 60 Minutes Program: firstname.lastname@example.org
Ask them if they plan on following CNN's lead, and Lie about anyone who criticizes or holds the media accountable??
After you send your emails, I urge you to check the MWO site, the latest quote of MWO was by James Carville, in a classic slam dunk of little Tucker, who was calling Clinton the latest Jerry Springer.
Carville had said previously that you should 'check out MWO, everyone in Washington reads it'.. well its obvious from the latest, we Know Carville reads it.....
it out at http://www.mediawhoresonline.com/
We have GOT to hold these people accountable, its obvious they cannot be trusted on their own, its up to me and you folks..
Please take a few minutes and send those emails out,
guy has lost all credibility and doesn't deserve the time of day.
So, shaddup already, Newtie Boy! You are disgusting.
Is that "know... possibly" as in "have knowledge, maybe" or as in "would like you to believe?"
Whoa!! folks. We're beginning to sound like the other side. Now is the time for all versions of democrats to come together. Proud liberals, aggressive progressives, and all other stripes who want support freedom and democratic processes, stand together now. Yes, we finally get to stand up and cheer for a LOUD LIBERAL voice on Crossfire, but don't be cutting the legs out from under those with softer voices.
We've gotten ourselves into a mess the likes of which most of us never dreamed possible. We've got a fellow in the White House, who couldn't pass a 4th grade proficiency test. We've had a valid democratic election overturned by a group of hired hands. We're stuck for another 3 years with a "family values" freak who isn't real upset when his twin daughters get busted for underage drinking. We've got a fiscal responsibility fan who's never earned a living or a paycheck. We've got a guns guts and glory nut who dodged the draft and played AWOL on his daddy's name. Oh my God!! It's worse than I thought.
But remember, if it's this bad (and it's really worse), we need everybody pulling together to pull every vote available. The way I figure it, we need to win next time by a solid 20% majority before they start counting. Remember, they count votes real funny, and they still have the Supreme Court.
I confess to having never seen the famous Hannity and Colmes duo, (my stomach simply won't allow me to watch Fox), but not everybody can or should sound like James Carville and Paul Begala. Much as I love those boy's they do preach to the choir, and we need somebody to represent us in the lion's den.
Good luck Mr. Colmes. I'll try to watch Fox again, but first I have to get my Tagamet prescription filled.
I wanted to suggest a link for BuzzFlash:
think the endless Republican bashing of our public schools is an important
lie to fight against. It's clear that as in so many areas, their agenda
is not to "fix" the schools, but to endlessly run them down
to convince people that the only answer is to send all kids to religious
and private schools that won't teach the "wrong" things, to
impose rote-learning evaluations for 'accountability' to produce unquestioning
little workers who don't have the
also another facet of the Republicans as the 'punishment' party. We'll
solve the drug problem by punishing drug users and producers, we'll solve
crime by ever more draconian sentencing, we'll solve terrorism by punishing
anyone we think is connected to it (or anyone we strain to connect to
it because we'd really like to punish them already), and finally, we'll
improve the schools by 'punishing' failing schools. It's so much simpler
than dealing with the messy conditions that might actually *do* something
about it. What, you say that people who claim to want to 'run government
like a business' ought to realize
Thanks for the good work, and keep on Buzzing!
