Did you notice this Bush quote from the CNN article on Karen Hughes?
"MY government"???? Did poppy buy it for him?
Unbelievable. I can't believe Daschle is allowing this to be voted on. Democrats need to raise Cain on this. The estate tax is often the very FIRST time that the appreciation on stocks and expensive assets are taxed. (Normally, they would be subject to capital gains and/or gift tax if given to the kids during their lifetime. The estate tax makes sure asset appreciation is actually taxed ONCE, when it is transferred to the heirs. It is pure BS that most of the estate tax is income that has already been taxed once. Rather, most of the estate tax is appreciation that has NEVER been previously taxed.

Are we ever going to hear about this Taiwanese slush fund, some of which was directed to Bush? I guess CNN, MSNBC, Fox, of course, and the major networks are seemingly keeping it under cover. If it were Clinton, you can believe they would be shouting it from the rooftops.
The standoff between the state of South Carolina and the Department of Energy is about to reach (pardon the pun) critical mass.
Where Southern Democrats once vowed to stand in the schoolhouse door, we now appear willing to stand in the reactor core.
More on this as it develops,
As you keep forgetting, BOY GEORGE is a contemporary international Artist that's still performing. He no longer has the exposure that he enjoyed with CULTURE CLUB in the REAGAN eighties. However, his PUBLIC RECORD STANDS TO SCRUTINY. He's a legitimate Artist. There is NOTHING LEGITIMATE about the Chimp masquerading as pResident, the OIL-SLICK on democracy. So, please refrain from mixing up the names of TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. Other than sounding dated and out of step with the times, you do an outstanding job of putting THE CORPORATE ELITE MEDIA to shame.

I found it interesting that in France, all the other candidates are backing Chirac in order to prevent the election of right wing extremist Le Pen. The Green Party candidate, Noel Mamere, was quoted as saying, "To block the extreme right, we must . . . vote for Chirac in the second round."
How different from the American Green Party, which did everything it could in 2000 to ensure that right wing extremist George Bush would win the White House!
I'm pretty excited to learn that Bill Clinton will be returning to New Zealand in May for a public speaking forum sponsored by BMW. The ticket prices are expected to be around NZ$600.00 The general consensus appears to be that this is a pretty good deal, and at this price they could fill the venue many times over. Tickets will be snapped up, and everyone the length and breadth of country is looking forward to hosting a man we all hold in high regard. The only negative comment has come from either visiting or residing Americans phoning radio talk-back shows, claiming they "wouldn't cross the road" or "wouldn't spend a dollar" to hear Bill Clinton speak. Geez guys!! With friends like that, who needs enemies!!
Re: 'I Heard America Singing'
Thank you for this wonderful description of a wonderful event I am sorry I had to miss.
Dubya missed it too, as he hid in Camp David, avoiding the sight and sound of joyful people having a great time celebrating peace! Why has no reporter at any press conference asked Dubya for his opinion on the Peace Rally?
Several cartoonists have depicted the post 9/11 Mr. bush as Caesar. Is it time for the American people to revisit the image of Julius Caesar? Shall we ponder the words of Caesar in light of Mr. bush's never-ending war on terrorists and Mr. Ashcroft's actions towards dissenting voices?
What will it take for the American citizenry to stand up and say, "enough is enough?" When will our voices become so loud and clear that they will be heard in Washington, DC? If I were a betting woman, I'd bet on November 2002!
