The BuzzFlash Mailbag

we inadvertently announced George the winner of the race because Fox did.
I really appreciate your gathering of the real news every day. Thank you! I must say, though, that what I love the most about your site is the mailbag. I learn so much from your readers and really enjoy their very intelligent comments. Most recently, you had two excellent letters. Nancy Lynn Nagy's letter regarding Bush blaming Clinton about the Middle East violence and DM Reid's letter regarding the rest of the world's perception of the U.S. were so great that I forwarded them on to some of my friends so that they can enjoy them, too. Thanks again for making my day every day and thanks to all your readers who write in and educate us further. I will look forward to participating in your discussion group.
What do you think are the chances of amending the amendment that only
allows a president to serve for two terms? I'd sign a petition in a minute
if I thought it would get President Clinton reelected. I miss him and
am appalled by the dishonesty of the press and the overall stupidity of
the American people. Does anybody else find it strange that immediately
after the current administration was outed for their little "shadow"
government, we learned that there was a nuclear threat against New York
that even the mayor didn't know about? Was that supposed to explain the
secrecy? I'm sick of the fawning, the lying, and the laying waste of our
environment and our freedoms. I watch no news on any channels anymore
and subscribe to no newspapers. You, and other sites like yours, have
become my only source of keeping abreast. It is time for us to demand
service from our elected (hired) representatives. They work for us; we
pay for their elaborate lifestyle. The least we can expect is a little
courage. And yes, I'm talking about the Democrats. Get up off your knees.
This is not a fiefdom - it is supposed to be the United States of America.
During an interview with Senator Daschle on Fox News Sunday yesterday, Tony Snow was attempting to make the Majority Leader look uninformed, but was spinning bad information. As Daschle was explaining how the Bush administration's tax cuts have led to deficits which has kept long-term interest rates high and how that could have an impact on housing, Tony Snow piped in with:
"Right now housing is going through the roof, so evidently they haven't gotten the memo yet."
Well, evidently it was Tony who didn't get the memo. The Commerce Department reported last week that new home sales PLUNGED 14.8 percent in January.
That was the largest decline since January 1994.
Lott Accuses Daschle of Ripping War Effort
I remember all the flak that Clinton got for bombing the Taliban and Lott refers to him (Lott) being wrong for criticizing the bombing of Iraq. And look at what they use as the headline of this article. Why isn't it, "Lott's Big Mouth Spun Out of Control One More Time!"
RE: DM Reid's Comment in 3/4/02 Mailbag
Did not mean to give the impression to vote dishonestly. I did say it quite by accident (pushed the button, again without realizing - I do have a problem with buttons). My suggestion was for liberals to visit these polls while on the web and vote. I always do, and I only vote once. The intent was to let everyone know that these polls can be skewed and in my opinion are skewed from the right. Hopefully by participating the media will start to realize the public is not made up of conservatives only.

A spoon? I need to be gagged with a huge gravy ladle!
Now all the Bush-lovers are suddenly flying their American flags....the honor and dignity in the White House has shown us the way back to patriotism! I have flown my flag every single day, on the front of my house since the early 1970s, and when it wears out I take it to the American Legion to be properly disposed of, (I believe they burn it) and I immediately put up a new flag.
Would you believe that a particularly nasty Repukelican had the gall to ask me "well, now, it's 'bout time all you Commie Hippie fag Liberals started burnin' the American flag again, and usin' it for underwear, ain't it?" Evidently this genius is unaware that burning the flag is the proper way to dispose of an old one...............as for underwear, I doubt he even wears any......
JAS....Proud to be a Liberal Democrat.
believe it or not, Bill Simon may actually win the Republican gubernatorial
primary in California, proving once again that Republicans will vote for
a scarecrow with sawdust instead of brains if you buy enough TV ads telling
them to do so. Bill Simon has never held public office, rarely voted,
and is a lamo who overuses the first name of the person he's talking to
and claims to have traveled up and down the state talking to "the
people" who told him their number one concern is "leadership."
Yeah, tell me another one -- I'll believe anything.
Interesting (totaling $340M) contract awards from the Dept of Interior - since when do they operate out of Ft Huachuca AZ??!! Forest management? NOT! And they are identical dollar values issued on the same date, but not listed in the DOI contracts pages...nor do they make the daily DOD awards newsletters cuz they are supposedly not DOD. I wonder what pool of money in the budget this $340M comes from - this years money or next years money... curious, huh. And a curious time for contract award announcements to be getting an e-business revamp - making it hard to really keep up - the Commerce Business Daily is no more...

Just a quick fyi...
is visiting Minnesota under the guise of being the "education"
pResident. Conveniently, though, there just happens to be a repuglican
senatorial hopeful [Norm (Bush will return his calls) Coleman] who will
attend the pep rally. Senators Wellstone and Dayton were not invited to
attend. Just as astonishing (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) Bush will attend
a political campaign fund raiser for Coleman. Hmmmm.....who's paying for
Keep up the great work!
Subj: Ah, our "government" only said it had stopped its disinformation campaign. So what is this, PR?
Then there are almost identical articles planted in these sites. Hmmmm.
up the good work, BuzzFlash.
Since when are 401(k) dollars tax free as Bush claimed in his speech?
Those dollars are pre-tax and the tax is levied at maturity (retirement) as the money is withdrawn.
If withdrawn early the tax hit is 20% to fed taxes-5% to state and a 10% penalty for early payout.
Hooray for Senators Kerry, Daschle, and Reid!!
Dem Senators FINALLY call a spade a spade, call GOP agenda to account for deceptions, omissions, arrogance; and anti-democracy secrecy, closed hearings, and carte-blanche for corporate pollution and tax evasion...!
And let me add a little [non!] bipartisan Vitriol of my own: Any cowardly news commentator (such as matthew's, russert, etc.) who tries to join in gop character assassination of these leaders deserves to be TAKEN OUT AND....! !
After all, while G.W. Bush runs around telling country he is "leading the war" on terror, hardly ANYONE mentions that Daschle PERSONALLY survived a murderous Anthrax terror attack, DIRECTED DIRECTLY against his person and office - and that to date, the Bush admin. and Ashcroft Justice department have been REMARKABLY UNFORTHCOMING, whether about the pace and progress of the Anthrax attacks, or to provide reassurance that that administration will no what to do with billions more for "the war on terror" even as it practically neglects the anthrax attacks.
The American public has a right to be reassured about progress in "the war on terror"; but SO TO does the American public have a right to know they will not be poisoned by domestic manufacturers, the energy and nuclear industries, or from other sources that industry would prefer to stamp "Top Secret - don't ask, and we won't tell..."
