To Bob Herbert & The NYT Editors:
The only bond that is developing between President Bush and the American people is one of complete distrust and overwhelming outrage!
We wonder how much damage he will do to our country before he is thrown out of office by the voters? You, NYT, can keep shilling and whoring for these Nazi imitating thieves and liars, till your throats grow hoarse and your eyes become crossed, but the American people are not the fools you think they are! We are paying careful attention and we easily recognize your campaign of propaganda to elevate this corrupt and power hungry moron to respectability.
You are putting your greedy, financial self interests above the interests of our once great nation and in doing so you are becoming a huge EMBARRASSMENT, to yourself, to journalism, and to all Americans. It is becoming just as painful to read your paper as it is to read the rest of the recycled trash everywhere else!
The accurate slogan for the NYT should read "ALL THE NEWS FIT TO PRINT AS DIRECTED BY THE WHITEHOUSE PROPAGANDA SQUAD."
Do you not find it disturbing that this administration needs terrorism and the war to maintain popularity?? To continue to promote their agenda they continually sound alerts and warn the public to be vigilant. The big question is what will happen when vague threats and empty warnings no longer interest the public?? Will we find ourselves in a situation where the "Lemnitzer" proposal will look good to this administration? After all these are the same people who believe the end justifies the means. The Florida recount is a good example as to how they conduct business. Secrecy and cover-up is the theme that runs this well oiled machine. Promoting fear is another basic premise for them, remember how they sounded "warnings" about the economy, they said it enough to bring it about--I for one find their methods disturbing to say the least and we should all be vigilant for terrorism from within as well as without, after all these people have trouble eating pretzels and fear calico cats.
I have a suggestion for John Ashcroft. Maybe he should cover those nude statues in the Burkas(sp?) that Afghan women had to wear.
[BuzzFlash Note: Or, perhaps, John could just close his eyes and return to that rock he crawled out from under.]
Let's get this straight. The fake prez is spending 3.4 mil of taxpayers' $ to buy advertising ON FOX? In other words, they're giving our dough to Rupert Murdoch. Ah, treachery......
I am just curious; do you have any idea how many hours Mr. "do as I say, not as I do" Bush has performed of community service? Call me cynical, but you can imagine my guess.
[BuzzFlash Note: We weren't able to verify the amount of time he says he did community service, but we did find this interesting tidbit: Bush up to his arse in allegations!.
Subj: Ashcroft and the statue
Headline should have read: Too many boobs at the Justice Society.
Well, maybe not.
[BuzzFlash Note: Hey, we thought it was funny . . well, and true . . . and kind of sad, all at the same time, which is disheartening and, well, ya know, you're probably right. We'll try and forget you mentioned it.]
It was nice to see Janet Reno released from the hospital today.
When asked how she felt after fainting, Ms. Reno replied, "At least I don't have a bump on my face."
CNN edited that zinger directed at Mr. Salty Wenron Smirk, temporary occupant of 1600 Pa. Ave, out of later replays of her interview.
I hope that someone will ask a very basic question in the coming weeks: Why was John Walker Lindh, a little nobody on his spiritual quest, able to waltz around the Radical Islamic networks of Pakistan and Afghanistan, have multiple meetings with Osama, while for untold billions $$ the CIA, DIA, NSA, DEA, FBI were apparently unable to place intelligence agents in the same places and were clueless about 9/11? Your link to the Daily Brew approaches this question. Keep up the good work.
This just gets me.
Endorses Corporate Tax Break
Ah....but it's not enough. When asked about the prospect of Sen. Tom Daschle's economic stimulus package getting passed, which among other things would "extend unemployment benefits by 13 weeks and give out a new round of rebate checks to lower-income people besides the depreciation and Medicaid provisions," Sen. Charles Grassley, an Iowa Republican said:
"There's got to be something in there for Republicans to vote for."
I'm so sorry that the items mentioned above are apparently Democrat-exclusive and are akin to kryptonite for the average Republican. How sad that unemployed people might get additional benefits and how awful that poor people might actually get tax rebates. I mean, how dare we look out for the more unfortunate members of our society! The nerve of us.
ABCNews.com's Political Morning Note said, in referencing a WSJ article, that Bush's statements about the axis of evil "...were a clear blow to Secretary of State Colin Powell and his top aides, who had been hoping to keep alive the option of an eventual dialogue with Iran, and possibly North Korea as well."
So what do you think? Will Powell jump ship before the year is out? He was on the losing end of the POW-Detainees/Unlawful Combatants label debate with Rumsfeld and Cheney. The Pentagon's money needs/future plans may usurp the diplomatic efforts of the State Dept. And now the "axis of evil" rhetoric. How long can Powell put up working with these guys?
Ah….but the following story gives me hope, especially since this is my other home state:
Alabama map gives Democrats chance to pick up additional U.S. House seat
You were right -- STMS and ROTFLOL. When I calmed down, I sent the following to the WP:
Hooray for James Carville!! The Democrats need more James Carvilles, we need his backbone and his smarts. He tells it like it is and he is a loyal Democrat. The Repuglicans need more of their own kind of politics "in your face." Good for him and I hope he sends more memos. If nothing more than to see the Repugs running around all red faced and pop eyed, it's worth it!!!!!! The Repuglican posture is so pompous and self-righteous that to see them bamboozled is awe inspiring. Bring on the memos Capt. Cueball I love it.
I sent the following letter to Chris "Tweety" Matthews and to Tom "Sycophant" Brokaw,

With all the investigations going on into the influence of money on our democracy, could you please post this so that others may see the true AXIS of EVIL controlling the Rep:
am a very concerned citizen and wish that other would become concerned
about this also.
