Bush's war cabinet is drawing up a secret plan to topple Saddam

would bet nine or ten months would be more like it -- they could kill
two birds with one stone. Get Saddam & get all those "war"
votes in the mid-term 2002 election. I know, it's the old, familiar wag
the dog story they labeled President Clinton with -- we'll see.
wonder just how many years of war and loss of life we have to look forward
to? A couple of years ago I would never have given that a thought. Yes,
times have sure changed - I just wonder how all those people who give
Bush such a high approval rating don't seem to notice?
Non-Evildoers of No Evil,
excerpt from a link I hit off BuzzFlash today (Silent treatment isn't
working for White House, http://www.sundayherald.com/21651):
when reporters asked Bush about his relationship with Lay, Bush claimed
he had never met Lay before 1994, and that Lay had supported former
Texas Governor Ann Richards, a Democrat in his 1994 run for governor.
In fact, Lay had first met and helped Bush financially back in 1978
during his unsuccessful run for Congress. And Lay and his wife personally
donated $47,000 to Bush's 1994 race while Enron donated another $146,000.
Richards received just $12,500 from Lay."
point here (and a further reference below): it seems Kenneth "Kenny
Boy" Lay supported George W. "Smirk" Bush in his 1978 bid
for the US Congress!!!!
could we all possibly put our widdle heads together, research this like
there ain't no tomorrow, and when we got the Whole Truth and Nothing But
the Truth hit this angle with a concerted effort (to paraphrase Bob Wills)
"like a team of mules pulling a wagon out of a bog hole"? It
seems to me that this angle is HUGE -- of COURSE Bush lied re: Lay supporting
Richards instead of him, and while that's been pointed out as far's I
can tell no one at least seems to give a damn. However, if indeed Lay
supported Bush in 1978 then this becomes not merely a lie but a HUGE lie.

anyone remember the S&L Scandal or that Neil Bush was a big player
in that. Now let's see how many in the S&L debacle went to jail in
the White Collar Crime country club section of our prison system: hardly

amount of them were over 65. I thought for sure that people would rise
up against that, I thought the people would never ever stand for having

This is blatant, this is fraud and I wouldn't believe in a million years

What a delicious treat to open my email this morning and find a long awaited
"Media Watch" piece by my favorite pundit pulverizer - the peerless,
perspicacious, plucky, and piquant - Gloria LaLumia!! Although her "World

missed my weekly dose of Gloria's excoriating, and oftimes decapitating
(metaphorically, of course) of America's most
deserving "talking heads!"
Please say that "Media Watch" is baaaaaccccckk for good!
Buzz, for simply being here...

Today, on Martin Luther King Day I would like to say to those of you who
work so hard trying to expose and justify the stolen election and who
work so hard for election reform--thank you! Also, I would like to thank
all of you who work so hard to protect our good earth and its environment,
to save the lives of the innocent not only in War but in poverty and starvation.
Thank you to those of you who work to protect everyone's religious freedom
and civil rights. This is your day.
Thank you to those of you who work so hard to protect the hard working
people, the working poor and their health and the health of women and
children not only here but around the world as well! To those of you who
work so hard to protect the human rights and justice of those who are
imprisoned and/or sentenced to die, abused and neglected children and
the elderly-- I say thank you. This is your day.
You should be very, very proud!
I am also sending you the words (below) of Martin Luther King Jr, a man
of true honesty and integrity who stood courageously, as you do, for fairness,
equality and justice, hoping that they may inspire you in his memory to
continue your GOOD FIGHT!!! I pray every day that you will NEVER be satisfied
until peace, justice and righteousness prevails on earth!
we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls
down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream!" -- Martin
Luther King Jr. (1929 - 1968)
you again for all of your hard work!
Nancy Lynn Nagy
Please, for me, forward to all of our friends!
DISCLAIMER: To those of you who may think that I purposely left out our
US Military who are risking their lives in Afghanistan and other areas
around the world, for whatever reasons you may assume I have, I would
like to explain. MLK Day is the day to remember MLK's fight for justice,
equality and fairness. MLK was a man who worked through nonviolent, grassroots
movements to achieve his goals, very similar to those grassroots movements
I have mentioned above. I believe that during this time in history our
government, local, state and federal, are ignoring (certain) grassroots
movements of the people for various disturbing reasons, mostly to advance
the causes of their campaign financiers and for their own personal and
political quests for power.
As I am one of those who participates in certain nonviolent, grassroots
movements I understand their frustration and hard work and I appreciate
greatly all that they do. I want to thank them. And I pray that they will
NEVER be satisfied until peace, justice and righteousness prevails on
earth! This is their day.
Also, please remember that the Constitution of United States gives the
people of this country the right of peaceful assembly as is written in
the First Amendment to the Constitution. (below) In my opinion what these
people do is just as 'Patriotic' as any military person or member of government.
According to our Constitution this country belongs to its people.
I: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of
speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,
and to petition the Government of a redress of grievances.
for posting The Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Amendments BuzzFlash.
Every American citizens should re-read them and insist their representatives
in government comply to the democratic system of our government (as in
these documents) they swore to abide by at the time of their oath of office.
If they can't comply with their oath...they should not hold office to
represent citizens in this country.
I agree with your mail bag post by John Machado's quote "In the face
of corruption, silence is treason." regarding Enron. Especially when
politicians cover criminal activity by private companies to rob us.
My belief is: "Democracy is a very fragile system of government and
every citizen should be on constant vigilance to make sure it is preserved."
Those with power and money want to take away ordinary citizen's rights
(and now pensions, etc.) for their own profit. I believe this is even
more relevant for this administration.
hope all these "good ole boys" now know how the Bush clan does
business. Hands out for the money when times are good, leave the ship
with the rest of the rats when it's sinking. A lot of people will bear
the brunt of the Enron debacle, but it certainly won't be any of the Bush
clan. They did their favors, took the money and then ran. Wake up to the
fact that the Bush people believe in making the "little people"
pay for the lavish lifestyle to which they have become accustomed and
if you lose to bad for you!
not a sudden "profile in courage" for demanding gov't papers
from Bush; he still wants to pursue his monomania--going after clinton

I happened to read the Flashback link to the 1999 article about GW Bush.
Interesting, but this paragraph / section below jumped out at me. I never

Bush's stock sale, Harken's audit committee - Bush, Watson and another
Harken director, Talat Othman - met on June 11 with Faulkner and auditors
from Arthur Andersen & Co., Harken's accountants. Jordan, however,
said the committee "did not discuss operating losses that might
be coming up, because that would be in the realm of conjecture and speculation."
The minutes of the meeting, Jordan said, "show that."
for a copy of the June 11 minutes or permission to inspect them, the
company, through Jordan, again declined to make the records available.
Jordan said company officials felt that granting the requests would
put them on "a slippery slope."
giving Bush clearance to sell his stock, Jordan said that company counsel
Cummings "checked with Mr. Faulkner at least and maybe others"
to see if there was "any material, undisclosed information out
there that would prevent the sale." The answer was no, Jordan said.
