PLEASE POST FAR AND WIDE!
Well, it has happened. Bush has shot him self in the mouth and he will
slowly bleed to death. Here is how he has done himself in.
Just found you a few weeks ago. Great Job, Thanks
Here's the text of a message I just sent to Aaron Brown at CNN via their web site. I suppose there's no chance anyone of importance will read it much less acknowledge it but it made me feel better.
Is there anyone trying to organize a Moyers for President effort? If so, please put me in contact with them. I heard Moyers Jan. 4 in Austin and the man and his words needs to be in the White House although I don't want to mess up his new PBS program.

First GWBush didn't know the name of the Pakistan leader; now he doesn't know what to call the Pakistani people without making an ethnic slur.

They are so phony and two faced it's nauseating. Flyers should be made of this oldie and goodie (let's not forget their blockage of judicial nominees) to point out their duplicity.
Just wanted to let you know I'm a big fan of your site, it's one of the few places I can count on to hear what's really going on!
When I read this link on Clinton's speech about taking out the Bin Laden terrorist training camps, it reminded me - I'm not sure if it was this speech or another one, but I remember at the time that no one had ever heard of Bin Laden, and it seems to me that this occurred at the height of the impeachment proceedings. My recollection is of hearing several Far-Right Wing commentators on TV saying that Clinton's speech and the action against terrorism was "only Bill trying to distract the public from the Monica Lewinsky scandal and impeachment." In other words, THE FACT THAT CLINTON ACTED AGAINST TERRORISM WAS ACTUALLY MOCKED AS INCONSEQUENTIAL BY THE FAR RIGHT WINGERS. The same jackasses who were wasting the country's time, money and energy trying to crucify Clinton over the Monica scandals are now the ones who are blaming him for not having done anything about terrorism. They can't have it both ways.
Anyway, I don't know how to go about finding the links, but if you have any good sources to dig up what the right wingers were saying that day, both in print and on TV, I think it would make for some good reprint material. I'd love to stick it in their ear with their own words quoted back to them - let everybody see how shortsighted they were while they were sitting there being self-righteous, sanctimonious, and holier than thou!
Anyway, keep up the good work!
should know that the Ann Arbor, Michigan, City Council supported by a
significant majority (?7:2) tonight a resolution that "all citizens
of Ann Arbor must receive due process." I hope there will be a report
in the Ann Arbor News tomorrow about it. The issue relates to the arrest
of a prominent and much loved local Muslim pastor, who now faces deportation.
A huge turnout at the court helped--it was packed. The speeches were sensational
and a number of city council comments priceless-- such as one suggesting
an amendment to the resolution so that "President Bush should receive
a copy." Please do look for it and report it! Thanks.
[BuzzFlash Note: We did a little digging and wasn't able to turn up a story. If anyone sees one, send it to BuzzFlash so we can append it here. Here's a link to a story about the pastor that contains this quote from Congressman Conyers: "Attorney General John Ashcroft 'is going in exactly the wrong direction. I'm here to officially say I oppose this."]
If you go to the front page of AmericaHeldHostile.com, I have included a new Hypocrisy Watch item on Jeb Bush's signing of a tax delay last December:
James G. Wilson-
CNN recently closed their open chat room. I visited frequently and found it to be a very partisan room...mostly liberal and very outspoken about the Bush administration.
Do you have any information about why the room was closed?
[BuzzFlash Note: We don't know. Perhaps they're no longer interested in the opinions of the public.]
Call it what it is--the old Ronald Reagan Trickle Down economic theory.
Did Bush not promise to establish health clinics throughout the country for children--Where are they????
Call the Bush Tax cut the Rush Limbaugh giveaway--He will get $25,000.00 per day and the average stiff will get $1.25 per week.
does a tax credit do for someone making less than 35,000.00 year?--Can't
use it. Someone out of a job can not use a tax credit--go after this myth
So much for keeping terrorists out of the USA, if my daughter's experience over Christmas is an example.
Two weeks before the holiday, my daughter bought a Greyhound bus ticket to Montreal at the NYC Port Authority. She asked the ticket agent if she needed a passport to cross the border. The ticket agent said no, she would only need her drivers license.
Naturally, when my daughter and her boyfriend tried to board the bus the weekend before New York's Eve, they wouldn't let her on without a passport. And the ticket agent was rude! My daughter was hysterical. Finally, my daughter's boyfriend called his mother in Montreal and they drove to Rutland, VT (as far as Greyhound would take them) to pick them up. They then crossed the Canadian border in a private car and NO ONE asked them for any ID.
same thing happened on the return trip. Private car, no ID check. Logically,
terrorists can cross the border unimpeded, but to get on a lousy bus,
they need a passport. What security!
Calls to Greyhound Customer Service have proved fruitless. They put me on permanent hold.
"Mr. Bush also used the Portland speech to suggest for the first time that voicing a terrorist creed would be viewed by his administration in the same terms as committing an act of terrorism. He told the crowd that anyone "who espouses a philosophy that's terrorist and bent, I assure you we will bring that person to justice." His aides did not elaborate."
Is there any doubt that this man is becoming dangerous to our liberties? The sooner he is constitutionally removed from office, the better.
The tide does seem to be turning in our favor a little, however I recently read an article which was a total shock and really disturbing.
Of the seventeen republican senators up for reelection in 2002, five senate seats to date are unchallenged:
Political headhunters have failed to recruit challengers for these people.... William Safire, over the weekend stated the Republicans will take back the Senate. Yes, believe that's a no brainer if 5 of 17 do run unchallenged. Dems from the States in question, should flood their local DNC offices with hard questions as to just what their contributions are being used for. I mean, do we want to hand them back the senate on a platter?
When I consider the courage it took for Jim Jeffords to leave the Republican party and see something like this -- believe me, words cannot adequately express my feelings. The election is just ten short months away...come on Terry, get to work and please, for the good of our Country, make it fast!!!
Let's add Alison Mitchell, a New York Times writer, to the list of right-wing water-carriers. Please note how cleverly Ms. Mitchell SPINS her words to enlarge the stature of Republicans and shrink the significance of Democrats -- a pattern among SOME at The Times. Following is a letter I sent to The New York Times Executive Editor.
I read the article http://www.motherjones.com/web_exclusives/commentary/opinion/ashcroft.html
about John Ashcroft and the Bill of Rights, I thought....em...shouldn't
we all post the Constitution, The Bill of Rights, & Amendments on
our links page?
[BuzzFlash Note: Will do. Check the links under "Government."]
Re: Vietnam and the Bill O'Reilly Nothing But Spin Zone, A BuzzFlash Contri...
Please relay my thanks to the author of this article for saying things no one else has the courage to. As a Vietnam veteran, I go absolutely ballistic when I hear the warmongering right wing nuts like Bush, Cheney, Limbaugh, and O'Reilly, urging us to send young men off to war when they conveniently avoided it when given the chance. They don't know what war is, except as an opportunity for the current administration to excuse the sorry state of our economy because we're supposedly involved in one. Please keep up the good work.

In the grand scheme of wrongs in the universe this is incredibly piddly. But I think BuzzFlash strives for accuracy, so I pass it along. The Kent State shootings occurred in 1970, not 1967-1968 as indicated in Jackie Corr's otherwise fine piece.

I would like to share with BuzzFlash readers this passage from Paul Krugman's bombshell little book Fuzzy Math, whose implications go far beyond the theme of Bush's economic agenda:
visit to Ontario, California, has my morale at a new low. I live just
a few miles from the convention center where the guy appeared. Prior to
the visit, the local newspapers did point out that the tickets for the
event were distributed to a select group of people. It said that the tickets
were gone immediately, given out mostly to the local Chambers of Commerce.
But there was nothing in the reports today to indicate that the standing
Arnal in Los Angeles
- i got my t-shirt last week and really enjoy wearing it - you do a fantastic job and keep hope alive - somehow - i saw the portland bush protest picture - very nice - i noticed at democrats.com there were protests in california and texas too - i would just suggest that you put those and more on your website - i just love to read about people protesting our "election-stealing terrorist president" and asking for investigations about what exactly he had to do with september 11th - thanks for all you do - love that buzzflash - peace
I would like to applaud George W. Bush's recent show of approval for the Democratic economic stimulus package. In his recent speech in Oregon, he stated that "not over my dead body" would 'they' raise taxes. The 'not', of course, indicates that he won't be dead when they raise taxes. I guess, just like during Vietnam, the Resident is unable to not be a coward.
(king of spin) O'Reilly just made #7 on the top 10 conservative idiots
- Bill O'Reilly "No Spin Zone," my ass. Last week, Bill "not
a conservative, honest" O'Reilly wrote a fascinating opinion piece
suggesting that Bill Clinton acted unwisely by sending $70 million in
aid to the people of Afghanistan. "Boy, that was money well spent,"
sneered O'Reilly. "Did the Taliban ensure that the money got to the
poor folks? Did you check out Mullah Muhammed Omar's compound in Kandahar?"
It makes you wonder what
Bill (king of spin) O'Reilly wrote this in his column at www.townhall.com:
Full Story Here:
Yet not one frigging mention of the $43 million Bush sent to the taliban in may of 2001, how is that for misleading the people ? Here is the story showing bush gave $43 million to the freaking taliban in may yet not one word from o'reilly about this in his biased article.
Just saw your link to the BBC news flashback about the 1997 meeting between the Taliban and Unocal in Sugarland, Texas.
It might be worth remembering that Sugarland is Tom DeLay's hometown and he was a Representative to US Congress in 1997 when that meeting was held.
I received the following E Mail from Vote.com.
I went on the site and voted. The votes against Daschle were about 90 some and the ones against about less than 10. They will E mail these to the Congress. This will then be used against Daschle. You should think about asking BuzzFlash viewers to vote.

As I'm sure you are aware, right-wing allies of President Bush have been unleashing an extensive propaganda campaign to conceal the President's gross negligence that led to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on his watch. The central component of this campaign is to blame former President Clinton while concealing the deliberate indifference, blunders, and numerous ignored warnings during Bush administrations first nine months.
I would like to strongly urge you to give more prominence to the numerous published instances of Bush administration failure to prevent the terrorist attacks. There have been well over a dozen such reports from respected news sources over the last 4 months that predictably are censored and avoided by America's conservative-dominated media.
BuzzFlash can provide an invaluable public service by giving them greater exposure and urging readers to lobby the major news media to give such reports the same level of coverage as criticisms of President Clinton.
One example is emerging right now: the Times of London today published a report claiming that on 3 different occasions, President Clinton declined to take bin Laden into US custody (at least one of these instances was reported previously). Already, The Drudge Report and Andrewsullivan.lie have been giving this story prominence; you can be sure the usual villains at FOX, CNN, MSNBC, etc. will flog this story for the next 2 days.
At the same time, the Orlando Sentinal reports today that the Bush administration failed to act on a tip from a jailed Seminole County man who warned of the 9/11 attack (you've provided a link form BuzzFlash). This report (surprise) is being virtually ignored.
It's critical that we promote this story and others to neutralize to the Times story and use it as an opportunity to challenge major media to stop giving Bush political cover by blaming Clinton. Consider giving the Sentinel story headline prominence and keeping the link for an extended period.
Keep up the great work!
