Dear Buzz,

LOL... the Media Research Center is going all out, I guess.

If anyone can stomach it, why not join them so at least you know what the opposition is saying and what kind of lies they are believing in their propaganda?

I have been subscribed to them for a month or so, just to see what's up with them. I find I disagree with the majority of their views, but at least I'm aware of what they think is true.

We do need to know what the the opposition is saying, if not to counteract their beliefs or actions.

Thanks for the great work you do on giving us something to read instead of what's being shown on traditional media.

Bill

Dear Buzz,

Subj: What would earlier patriots say?

As we struggle through this period of fanaticism and neo-fascism, it might be useful to remember that tyranny is not new and the yearning for freedoms and liberty are not new either; the struggle has been waged before and will be waged again. Right now, it is OUR turn to fight the good fight if we wish to retain our Constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms and liberties. If we do not stand up and meet the challenge, we need only look to history to tell us what the result will be. The militaristic, the power-hungry, the greedy and the prevaricators will always be among us; it is OUR choice if we decide to let them have free rein.

"Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech." -- Benjamin Franklin

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

"He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself." -- Thomas Paine

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt.

Were our nation's earlier patriots wrong? NO, I think they knew something we have forgotten –- the true meaning of patriotism.

Dear Buzz,

Add this one to your list of "lies."

Apparently the GW Bush campaign lied to the American people when they told us that the Band-Aid and other lumps visible on Bush's face (temple area and forehead) were cysts. I guess they didn't want anyone to know about the PRE-CANCEROUS LESIONS before Bush's position in the Oval Office was neatly secured.

Dear Buzz:

Thank you for posting the eye-opening article by Florida journalist and mystery writer Carl Hiassen "Utah Developers win the Winter Olympics." www.miami.com/herald/content/opinion/opcol/digdocs/069355.htm

This 1.5 Billion dollar grab from the federal till should put to rest the falsehood that Republicans don't like to tax and spend. Apparently they do when it benefits them and their friends in the GOP state of Utah. Now I know why they wanted the Olympics so bad. To rob us.

Everyone should read it, to throw back in their faces when they whine about wasting money on unimportant things like education and unemployment benefits.

Dear Buzz,

I sent this to the Kalamazoo Gazette in response to Mr. Dunham's letter.

Re: Mr. Dunham's letter "ACLU": The Anti-Christian Legal Union".

Hoowee...ain't the worldwide web a wonderful thang? How else could a good ol' boy from south Alabama be alerted to Mr. Dunham's rant (www.buzzflash.com "The Right Wing Nut Opinion of the Day") from far away Kalamazoo?

Them ol' lefty ACLUs are almost as much fun to whup up on as anyone with the last name of Clinton. However...(there's ALWAYS a "however") I spotted just a couple of teeny little mistakes and just knew you'd want the record set straight.

In the Rev. Jerry Falwell's legal battle with the Commonwealth of Virginia over taxation of his church real estate, the bad ol' ACLU has actually filed a "friend of the court" brief in support of the Rev's position. This from the folks he accused of being at least partially responsible for the 9/11 tragedy. Talk about your Christian virtues, and turning the other cheek! Unbelievable, hunh?

Oh...and it's not actually a democracy. It's a republic. A democratic republic, I'll grant you, but there are some important differences, nevertheless. You could look it up.

Y'all have a good day now.

Dear BuzzFlash,

RE: Bush Has Noncancerous Lesions Removed From Face 12/18

Hey, why did it only get disclosed when a reporter noticed it (one of the last paragraphs in the story). How come they're not giving us this info as it's available, like they should. The right wing complained about that when lib'rals are president!

Jeff Schwarz

Dear Buzz,

As a Christian, I am glad you posted the "right wing nut" story. I was unaware that the ACLU was being called the Anti-Christian Legal Union. I wonder if the writers of that satirical label realize that the American Civil Liberties Union has a good point. There is retribution, but no justice, by military tribunals. Did my Christian friends forget that Jesus was executed by a military tribunal and that his disciples were too afraid to speak out. All the American Civil Liberties Union is saying is that freedom of speech and other freedoms guaranteed in the Bill of Rights should be protected. Is that Anti-Christian?

Dear Buzz,

Re: A BUZZFLASH NEWS ALERT: Right-Wing Media Research Center Targets ANYONE That Disagrees With Bush

Clearly, this organization's mission is totally political in scope, and therefore they are not eligible for 501(c)(3) status. There should be an IMMEDIATE congressional investigation of this organization and any ties to the Bush administration. These people should be shut down now.

Dear BuzzFlash,

Re: A BUZZFLASH NEWS ALERT: Right-wing Media Research Center Targets ANYONE That Disagrees With Bush

This says contributions to them are tax deductible? How come they get away with that, but Buzzflash and other liberals can't? Why isn't the IRS clamping down on this? I'm pissed.

Jeff Schwarz

Dear Buzz,

I'm not surprised that Osama bin Laden is nowhere to be found in the Tora Bora cave complex in Afghanistan. The man may be sinister but he's nobody's fool.

With the concentration of anti-Taliban forces along the Pakistan-Afghanistan boarder, flight into Iran is the logical route for the fugitive terrorist leader. Even though bin Laden is a Sunni Wahabist, his anti-American political agenda must resonate with some few hard-core Shia fundamentalists and the Sunni minority in Iran. He will find friends there.

Yet it is President George W. Bush who will benefit the most from bin Laden's escape.

Since the September 11 attack, the President has not shown any concern that bin Laden be captured alive and brought before a court of law, whether in the United States, the world Court in the Hague, Netherlands or any other jurisdiction. A dead bin Laden can not reveal any potentially embarrassing new information about the cozy relationship between the Bushes and the Saudi Royal Family; this consideration is perhaps the rational behind the call for secret military tribunals.

Like his father's foil a decade ago, Saddam Hussein of Iraq, a living bin Laden gives the younger Bush a villain in opposition to his hero. Alive bin Laden gives Bush a boogey-man with which to continue frightening the American people into forfeiting constitutional rights in the name of "homeland security" while surreptitiously focusing on his real agenda: the rape of the nation's wealth.

Buzz,

Re: A BUZZFLASH NEWS ALERT: Right-wing Media Research Center Targets ANYONE That Disagrees With Bush

If The Media Research Center can be a nonprofit tax deductible organization, I don't see why BuzzFlash can't do the same thing! After all, you are doing the job that The
Media Research Center is doing, just looking at the other side!

Dear BuzzFlash,

In regards to Marlene W's fine points about exactly WHY politicians of today are not embracing the e-mail standard, I believe that she may have missed the KEY reason...

Letters, sticky notes and notebooks can easily be shredded, burned or hidden in a musty old basement (..tapes too, Dick... you narcissistic dolt...). E-mails sit dangerously pristine on some disinterested system admin's hard drive/tape backup "somewhere," just waiting to crop up and provide techno-"smoking guns" for a special persecutor with an agenda.

For good or ill, this is why I believe e-mail is being "selectively ignored" by our elected elite as a means of communication in the information age.

Cynically yours,

Hi Buzz Flash,

I thought Eric Alterman wrote a superb article on the White House thief until I got to the part where Alterman again repeats the mainstream media's lies that Bush would've prevailed if the felonious five hadn't stopped the hand count. This is totally false. I've written an article that explains how the media invented this Bush victory that's posted at Online Journal's web site and dated 12/15/01. I would appreciate your posting this article at BuzzFlash. It's crucial that we get the truth out that there are no scenarios that Bush would've won under had the felonious five not stopped the counting of legal votes in Florida.

Thanks for your help.

Dear Buzz:

Re: A BUZZFLASH NEWS ALERT: Right-wing Media Research Center Targets ANYONE That Disagrees With Bush

The item you sent about the Media Research Center is of course disturbing. Perhaps the worst part however is the last line of their sales pitch:

The Media Research Center is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit corporation. All contributions are fully tax-deductible.

Why is it that an obviously radical right organization qualifies for tax-deductible status while the righteous Buzzflash does not?
