Subject: Where Logic Fails

Scare Ma and Pa America into voting Republican? For a guy who has the unique distinction among the Bush cadre as an evil genius (I’m sure to his maniacally laughing glee), he isn’t thinking this whole “imminent terrorist attack” thing through. The track record of the Republican Party for keeping Americans safe would make a season ticket holder for the LA Clippers wince.

Let’s see, catching the Anthrax terrorist-----failed. (Suggestion from government for all current and future biological attacks: trash bags and duct tape)

September 11, 2001, protecting our citizens from a terrorist attack from a foreign enemy on their own soil (the first in over 50 years)------failed.

Finding and bringing to justice Osama Bin Laden, the suspected orchestrator of the biggest terrorist attack in 50 years------miserably failed.

A “quick” war to topple Saddam Hussein, find and destroy WMDs and bring democracy to Iraq----Mission Accomplished? No.

Protecting our troops by providing ample life-saving gear, ensuring those who serve are treated with the respect and generosity due to them after they fight, and making absolutely certain that there is indeed an imminent threat to the lives of American citizens before deploying any troops------Failed, failed and horrifically failed.

Prevent the destruction of a major US port city by way of flooding and protect half a million people from losing their family members, livelihoods, homes and trust in the government------Horrible failure.

What about stopping economic terrorism? Has the Republican Party helped more Americans to live above the poverty line (especially children)? Hell no. Major failure.

Has the Bush Administration kept the debt in check so that the American dollar is competitive in the global market? No.

Has Bush found ways to provide more Americans with access to healthcare? (Actually, forget MORE Americans, has the number of Americans with access to healthcare even stayed the same since Bush first took office?) NO.

Surely, the Republican Party who has a monopoly on two out of three branches of government has protected Ma and Pa Average America from losing pensions, retirement or even keeping the wage consistent with the cost of living? Absolutely not. Failed Again.

So, let’s recap. The Bush Administration and the Republican Party has directly ended thousands of American lives through incompetence and has overall reduced the quality of life for the majority of Americans. We better get a different party in office that can handle these threats. Good job, Rove! Great strategy!

“Seven states, led by California, received “A” grades, while 15, including Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, flunked.”

Kansas ranks last in science 15 states receive failing grade in institute’s report

By John Hanna - Associated Press Writer

Topeka — Kansas has the nation’s worst science standards for public schools, a national education group says, condemning the state for rewriting its definition of science and treating evolution as a flawed theory.

The “F” grade from the Thomas B. Fordham Institute came after the State Board of Education approved the new standards last month. The Washington-based institute said Kansas’ treatment of evolution was “radically compromised.”

“The effect transcends evolution, however,” the institute said in a report released Wednesday. “It now makes a mockery of the very definition of science.”

Subject: Krauthammer dissected

Many, many thanks to Mike Whitney for his brilliant and incisive dissection of the ideology of Charles Krauthammer and his "ilk." First and foremost, thanks to Mr. Whitney for reading and listening to Krauthammer so the rest of us don't have to! I have to admit, my stomach cannot handle it. Whitney's comparison of the neocons' 2003 triumphalist speech to today's Rosanne Rosanna-Danna "never mind" made my day and added a lot to my understanding of neocon thinking.

Subject: Bush ... Today's "Aspirational" Terrorist Scare

Maybe Americans get a rush from being scared. Can mere gullibility explain their swallowing whole what is fed to them by obvious liars? Unable to pick up true emotive waves, we seem to welcome any opportunity to follow lock-step those who gush and bellow phony emotion ... to happily, blindly join murderers' games ... stuffing our faces with food and drink, watching mindless, vacuous T.V. and movies ... reading only when we sit on the crapper and then reading only surface crap ... ingesting phony emotion, phony tears, phony everything, nothing of value all the way down the line ... no inquisitiveness, no desire or capacity to learn anything meaningful, no desire to test ourselves, to stretch, to open our arms to more human ideas ... no ability or wish to challenge the given "truths," the myths that have crippled our humanity.

If our sighs and sobs were deeply and truly felt, if our emotions hadn't been crippled eons ago, if our fears didn't so quickly so gladly turn to hysteria, to butchery, if our historical path wasn't already strewn with blood and bone, then surely we wouldn't have so blithely picked up our flags, saluted and joined the parade into the abyss of an idiotic war behind so clearly doltish, mindless, murderous leaders.

Subject: My letter to Senator Schumer

I sent the following letter to NY's Senator Schumer after reading on BuzzFlash that Schumer might support 'Joementum' Lieberman if Joe runs as an independent in the CT senate race:

Dear Senator Schumer,

They tell me you are the head of the [Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee] – yet you have not pledged to support Ned Lamont should he win the upcoming CT primary.

Joe Lieberman is a Democrat in name only. His support for the Iraq war has helped facilitate thousands of tragic deaths on all sides in this completely unnecessary conflict. George Bush’s countless lies have been repeatedly exposed yet the Democrats are still too cowardly to confront his administration head-on, 24/7.

Your ambivalence over supporting the DEMOCRATIC winner of a DEMOCRATIC primary – your willingness to stick with the party establishment instead of the people you supposedly represent – is exactly why the Republicans are running amok. Until you grow some guts (politeness prevents me from using a more accurate part of your anatomy) you should either resign from your DSCC position – or failing that, from the US Senate. Until things change, I will not be giving a CENT to the Democratic Party, the DSCC or the DCCC; my contributions will go to individual candidates who show true courage – like Ned Lamont.

Several of your fellow Senators have already said they will support Lieberman should he run as an independent in November – which will very likely result in the election of a Republican; perhaps your colleagues should just leave the party and join the GOP. Simply put, the Democratic Party and the US need more Ned Lamonts and fewer Joe Liebermans. You and your fellow Democrats in Washington must roll up your sleeves and fight the GOP with righteous determination – and let Joe Lieberman know that if he is a real Democrat and should lose the primary, he will fully support Ned Lamont. Until that happens, Karl Rove will continue to make fools out of you and paint you as weak-willed cowards – a process you seem to be all too willing to participate in.

With regret,

JS

Subject: I Have Seen the Enemy, and He Is Us

I’ve been talking to a lot of folks over the 4th of July about what’s going on in our country and have come to some conclusions. It seems we are all looking for a “savior”, someone to come along and make it all right again. Folks ask me, “When will the “Democrats” run somebody who will lead us out of this cesspool?

Why hasn’t a candidate emerged who will:

· Hold legislative officials accountable for their legal and illegal actions · End the war in Iraq and bring our troops home · Hold business leaders accountable for their legal and illegal actions · End lobbyists influence and control of our government and congress · Provide incentives for developing clean energy alternatives like solar, hydrogen, ethanol, wind, wave · Eliminate the “electoral college” so that every vote counts and the majority really does win a national election. · Set an example of intelligence, wisdom, courage, and leadership for the world at large · Provide universal healthcare for all Americans (just like the Congress has) · Secure our borders and provide a legal path to citizenship for illegal immigrants · Stop the outsourcing of American jobs and put America first · Assure that the environment is safe and clean for the next generation · Provide equal protection under the law for all American citizens (race, creed, color, religion, age, and yes sexual orientation.

Instead, they say, there is no leadership from the Democrats or the Republicans. The Congress, they say, debates inflammatory issues (no pun intended) like “flag burning”, gay marriage, and scare use scare tactics like “potential terrorist threats attacks” to distract us from the real issues that threaten our nation.

Folks, there is no Santa Claus, no “savior”. As Pogo, the cartoon, has said, “I have seen the enemy, and he is us”. If you want change and agree that the issues listed above must be implemented then we must focus Congress and demand they change or loose their jobs.

Democrat and Republican congressional representatives know, however, there is a 98% chance they will return to office every two years. Let’s shake these bastards up and vote them all out of office.

This will be our Revolution. Once they realize that the American people are serious about reform they will start listening to the people, change, or loose their high paying, cushy jobs in Washington. Leadership must come from the People. Remember ours is (for the time being) a “Government of the People, by the People, and for the People. We…are the People.

Lead, follow, or you deserve the cesspool you are or will soon be living in.

Subject: Terrorists To the Left of Me...

”FBI thwarts terrorist plot against NYC.”

It seems that terrorists had planned large-scale New York tunnel bombings designed to cover Manhattan with Hudson River water and wash away the World Trade Center site and Wall Street, along with the American economy.

They must have researched George’s half-assed-glass-half-full reports on the economy, which was like building their plan on sand instead of rock. Economy-crippling is one mission he really did accomplish.

As BuzzFlash pointed out on July 7, “the idea of the Hudson River flowing UP into Manhattan defies the laws of physics.”

Bush Must Have Come Up with Today's "Aspirational Terrorist Scare," Because the Idea of the Hudson River Flowing UP Into Manhattan Defies the Law of Physics

So, to prove that the Sears Tower plot wasn’t a fluke of incompetent terrorists and total lack of imminent danger, the FBI had to release their latest contender for fish tale of the year. After all, what is a war on terrorism without terrorists?

Maybe the NY terrorists were caught by Bush’s great spy net trying to order boots or flippers from Sears which, of course, would be included in the previous information collection.

Either way, the plot is now history; not revisionist history, more like fairy tale history. However, George was furious that he will have to wait for the next hurricane to demonstrate how he holds back water with a staff.

I think what we have now in America are faith-based whoppers. Bush has faith that anyone who can still stomach his three-words-at-a-time speeches will swallow anything including a line with a fake worm attached.

All of this excitement is to prove that widespread, illegal domestic spying is worth abandoning our privacy. As Cheney said, if spying had been in place earlier, 9-11 would have never happened, despite Bush being handed a hard copy of the threat on August 6, 2001.

But oops, Bloomberg News reports charges filed in federal court papers stating that AT&T was asked by the NSA to assist with domestic call monitoring 7 months before 9-11.

Spy Agency Sought U.S. Call Records Before 9/11, Lawyers Say (bloomberg.com)

Unless this group is planning a surprise “third time’s the charm” attack because we have been lulled by their rank stupidity, it’s time to return to wrapping fish and chips in newsprint instead of reading it.

I just can’t wait until Totalitarian Day. Then I can return to genealogy. I prefer finding illegitimate relatives to an illegitimate government.

Subject: We Undermine the President's Credibility at Our Nation's Peril?

Lieberman fawns over Bush at debate: "We undermine the President's credibility at our nation's peril." 7/9

Wrong, Senator Joe. The peril to our nation is in not undermining the president, because he's taking us down a dead-end straight ahead. But it isn't too late for you, Joe. You still can save the day for yourself by calling for troops out of Iraq now. That would be comparable to what Willie Brandt did in Germany after Hitler took power in 1933, when Willie spoke out against the Führer and the Third Reich. Of course he had to flee Germany to escape imprisonment and torture, but his patriotism and heroism wasn't forgotten by the German people. After WW II he returned to Germany and subsequently found himself elected Chancellor (Prime Minister). You do an about face now, Joe, and who knows, maybe you'll wind up being president of the USA. And if you do it right away, most likely you'll escape imprisonment or forced exile. So what'll it be, Joe? Hanging onto our fascist president's coattail or coming out for we the people? But you gotta do this right away, Joe. Otherwise you're gonna get a swift boot (not boat) next month by Connecticut Democrats. Ouch!

Subject: The One Percent Doctrine -- Applied to Environmental Disaster??

The most striking thing that hit me in reading Ron Suskind's "The One Percent Doctrine," relating Cheney's edict that even a one percent chance of a terrorist attack on America justifies certain action, was imagining Cheney or Bush applying the same logic to the much greater chance that global warming may have a catastrophic impact on Americans.

I was bowled over laughing at the possibility of a scene of Cheney saying to Bush, "George, if there is even a 'one percent chance' that this global warming will cause great suffering and death of Americans we are bound to take action as if it will."

Since it is clear that Cheney and Bush are only concerned with a 'one percent' chance of terrorist attack from an area of the world in which they happen to seek oil dominion, and have no concern whatsoever with the much higher percentage chance of human and environmental catastrophe from the effects of burning oil for private profit, I came away from Suskind's book with a rather different and ironic sense of the title. Namely, that the term "One percent doctrine" really means the doctrine that is best for the 'one percent of the ruling elite.'

Oh, excuse me, I said Paris
Remember how they became our enemy
just because they knew Bush was full of shit?
Have we passed a constitutional amendment
to rename her American Hilton?
Or to rename the New York Times
the New York Traitors?
When did we start having to ok our news
through the White House?
The news has to be truthful
What does this administration know about truth?
Powell lied so much to the UN
he left his office in shame
Condi? The only thing bigger than her credibility gap
is the one between her front teeth.
Rummy is an old Nixon aide
Enough said there
We saw how upfront Cheney was about shooting his friend
Though that may have been the liquor talking
Of course, King George is off in his own little world
In that world, no one may own WMD
Well, except for us
Funny, now everyone wants them
to keep the US from invading them
We don't have to abide by the Geneva Convention
because we have no prisoners of war
We rename them enemy combatants
and we can hold them forever and never bring them to trial
If an American is imprisoned, Bush calls them a hostage
and puffs out his chest as he talks like a cowboy again
The Republicans send most of their party
to Florida to fight for the rights
of one poor brain dead soul
all the while sending thousands of able bodied Americans
off to become maimed, disfigured and killed
Our phone calls are monitored

Homeland Security can enter our house
search it, and leave no record of their ever having been there
Yet the CIA group hunting down bin Laden has been disbanded
What's the bigger threat?
Osama bin Laden
or the fact that I checked out "Green Eggs and Ham" in 1968?
It's been said that Bush has signed over 750 laws that he has since
ignored
The law means nothing to him
Two stolen elections should have clued us in
Lying about WMD should have clued us in
Lying about the outing of a CIA agent should have clued us in
We are in a war, he says.
9-11 changed everything
It certainly did.
It changed us from the crown jewel of the world to a lump of coal
From the envy of the world to the laughingstock
From the land of the free and the home of the brave
to simply the home of the brave

Subject: What the Pope Says About Gays

The Pope says that God created man and woman to be the only ones to love and marry each other and that people of the same gender are inherently disordered and not capable of love and devotion. Well who the hell is he to decide this? On what authority? God created me Homosexual, to love a person of the same gender and to feel natural and normal about it. Just because he chooses to trump God's actions by his bigoted beliefs doesn't mean he is correct. This man can not stop me from being homosexual, because God Created Me This Way, and this man can not stop me from loving whomever I am attracted to. This man is trying to pass laws to take my freedom to be who I am away from me, but I refuse to let this happen, and will speak out, every chance I can. I am equal to the pope as a man, and I am equal to the pope as a sexual being with the freedom to be attracted to whomever I need to satisfy my desires. Why is anyone listening to the Pope Anyway?

Having witnessed friends waiting from ten in the morning till four in the afternoon to vote (and then some hearing ..." Sorry ... there are not enough ballots ..."), having heard of the PRI dumping ballots here in the state of Oaxaca (and Lopez Obrador WON here, remarkably, in this PRI stronghold), and knowing that the North of Mexico, controlled by the PAN, is famous for corruption and controlling the vote .. Added to the mix the Bush advisors that have been working with Calderon, and the fact that ChoicePoint has been working in Mexico since 2000 ... I say COUNT THE DAMN BALLOTS!!! I don't think the Mexicans are going to accept this without a fight ... maybe we can learn something here...!!!

Subject: Why Does Bush Hate America?

Hi Buzzers,

I think this is the question we should be asking right-wingers at every turn. If destroying our military, letting an American city die, crippling our economy, taking away our rights and any other examples that come to mind isn't hating America and Americans, then what is it? If they say he's protecting us from terrorists, why didn't he stop 911 and why doesn't he secure the borders? Why did he stop looking for Bin Laden, and why did he blow the cover of a CIA operative? These are the actions of a traitor, not an American president.

Subject: Obrador Should Learn from Gore's Mistakes in Election 2000 7/9

Nowhere in this article is there any suggestion that Obrador's key to victory by a legitimate recount is not to concede until it is fairly, accurately, and constitutionally achieved. To hell with Calderon, courts and the media.

Notwithstanding his objection to the greatest malum prohibitum crime in American History, the Felonious Five's Bu$h v Gore decision, Al Gore's concession chilled it into legitimization. If Gore had stood his ground and refused to concede, even a corporately purchased MSM couldn't ignore the outrage of 60 million voters that would have resulted. And as much acrimonious vitriol and blame that would have been targeted on Al Gore, Bu$h could never have obtained the presidential legitimacy he has imperially abused to the irretrievable demise of our nation. In fact Bu$h probably wouldn't be in power today.

National unity is only achieved under Constitutional law. Today, the national unity that Al Gore had hoped that his concession would have engendered is farther from reality than ever.

Obrador must not concede.

Subject: Clinton Is at It Again!

During the 2004 Presidential Campaign, Bill Clinton advised the Democrats not to bash Bush. Instead, he advised to run a campaign as though nothing was wrong in this country. Unfortunately, the Democrats followed that advice and it led to an election disaster which could have been won.

Now, Bill is kissing George Bush's ass and telling him that he supports his immigration policy. If the Democrats support that policy they will lose again. The Republicans running for Congress are smart enough to run against the President on this issue.

Meanwhile, the Republicans will hold hearings across the country on the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill. There is no doubt that the result of the hearings will show that the American public is dead set against this bill.

Democrats have everything going in their favor, but they can throw it all away by supporting this bill. Clinton led the Party to one disaster, let's not let him do it again.

Subject: Republicans Becoming Democrats?

In response to your joy regarding Republicans switching to the Democratic party, I would suggest caution. Republicans understand the poll numbers are down for their party, and suddenly becoming a Democrat may indeed win them some votes. But will it change their future voting habits? It may be the smartest move the Republicans can think of to maintain power. It may unfortunately also be one of the biggest shockers to the Democrats come time to vote on a bill...any bill.

I don't like having to throw cold water on your exuberance, but just because they change parties doesn't mean they change ideologies. After all, what is in a name. "A rose by any other name... etc. etc." Is there any evidence that these three "former Republicans" have really come over to our way of thinking about what this current government is really up to -- or are we simply welcoming more Republicans (who are still Republicans) under the Democratic umbrella? This is a good question to consider ... considering the undisputed fact that rats do tend to leave a sinking ship. Personally, I would welcome some hard evidence along these lines as I have seen none as yet.

Subject: George Neville Chamberlain Bush

Regarding Mr. Carpenter's article, "Chicken hawk admirers target John Murtha, " (mcall.com), I was struck by one line in this article:

... the Bush family's dear pals -- the corrupt and despotic royal family that runs Saudi Arabia. (Where did most 9/11 terrorists and financing come from? Why, it was Saudi Arabia, Iraq's chief economic rival.)

Years ago I remember reading an article about how George H.W. Bush was always more comfortable with Saudi Royals than with average middle-class Americans. The theory was that Bush and the Saudi Royals had the same privileged upbringing, went to the same elitist prep schools and universities, made lots of global business deals together, partied together, had many of the same views on the inherent entitlement of the super-rich, etc. Watching George W. Bush holding hands and kissing the visiting Saudi Prince after they attacked us on 9/11 did nothing to dispel this theory. It also made me want to puke, but maybe that's just me.

I've thought of that article and Bush holding hands with one of the men responsible for 9/11 quite a bit since then. Mostly because, while it seems to have passed without notice in the American press, George W. Bush is a man whom I think history will remember as a far greater appeaser than Neville Chamberlain could ever have aspired to be. Since the 9/11 attack on us, Bush has given the most extreme Islamic Fundamentalists in the world -- Osama, Al Qaeda and the Saudi Royals -- everything they have demanded from us (the sole exception being that we have not yet completely abandoned Israel).

With the taking of the Iraqi oil fields, Bush's corporate buddies and the Saudis now control the vast majority of the world's remaining oil. (Iraqi oil is now US property, since Bush declared, by way of a Presidential Executive Order, that all Iraqi resources are part of the US Treasury. Spoils of war, I suppose. Think about that you pay over $3.00/gal. for gas.)

Think about the demands that Osama made after 9/11.

Osama demanded the US military leave Saudi Arabia. Done.

Osama demanded an end to secular Arab countries. Bush is helping turn the biggest secular Arab nation in the world, Iraq, into a Fundamentalist Islamic partner with Iran. Osama and the Saudis hated Saddam. Not because he was evil; evil is a prerogative of power to them. No, they hated him because he was running a secular, increasingly westernized country. Bush is helping meet Osama's demand with the blood of our troops.

Osama demanded a worldwide jihad against us. Bush is doing everything he can to help him there, too. More terrorists, more terrorist attacks, more global instability than ever before. More recruits for Osama and Al Qaeda. While American military recruitment is at an all time low, Al Qaeda has more recruits than they can train.

Osama said he would bring down America, not by winning militarily, but through violence and fear. Together, Osama and Bush have made great strides towards attaining this goal. Bush has used fear of Osama and Al Qaeda to strip us of our rights and change the very nature of our country and our government. Who would have guessed ten years ago that an American President would grant himself the right to strip any American citizen he chooses of their citizenship, imprison them without trial or representation, hold them indefinitely, torture them, and even murder them? And that he would get away with it because the media and Congress are too scared of being labeled unpatriotic to challenge him.

Can anyone imagine what would have happened if Clinton, Bush I or Reagan had tried this? Can anyone imagining any of them disrespecting America enough to even consider it?

It took an attack on our soil (just what the PNAC suggested) and a president willing to shred the Constitution for his own bizarre combination of egotistical self-aggrandizement and simplistic religiosity, two qualities Bush and Osama have in common, to do it. Osama and Bush, with help from their old family friends, the Saudis, have done in 5 years what nobody has been able to do for over 200 years: dismantle our democracy.

How it is possible that Bush went from "wanted dead or alive" on Osama to, "I just don't think about Osama any more," to the closing of the CIA office dedicated to finding Osama? Easy; Bush, and the Saudi Royals, don't want Osama caught, he is so much more useful as a threat to keep us frightened and malleable than he would be as a dead martyr.

Osama is winning this war, Bush is his top lieutenant and the Saudis are laughing all the way to the bank.

Subject: Missile Defense

After North Korea threatened to fire their missiles last week, the Washington Times announced that the Pentagon missile defense system has been activated and will consider shooting down the missile. Government spokesmen also announced that a limited missile defense system is in place. The truth is somewhat different. The missile defense system is a continuation of the Star Wars system proposed by Ronald Reagan in 1983.

Since then $92.5 billion has been spent and there has never been a satisfactory test of the system, which is intended to shoot a rocket into space which will intercept an enemy warhead. Some sources predict a total cost of $238 for the full program if it is ever completed. Testing has not yet been completed and feasibility has not yet been established even though the first ground-based missile interceptors have been installed in a silo in Alaska. In the past years of testing, program managers have never run tests to prove the system really worked unless special conditions were set up -- such as using special beams to exaggerate the radar signal of the test missile, testing at low speed or in daylight. As stated by an article in the Washington Post last week, “the system has not successfully intercepted a missile in its current configuration.”

The Secretary of Defense has limited congressional and public access to information concerning costs, schedule and performance and the Defense Dept. has initiated a procurement philosophy which allows future development to be based on future testing. In other words they will continue to spend money and hope the system works. The Pentagon has not announced new test schedules and the public has not been receiving any information about this fiasco.

Are we being properly defended by our government?

Subject: Why Not Republican Terrorists?

I ... commented about a wing nut making a big stick over the "capture" of "terrorsts" plotting to flood Manhattan by blowing up harbor tunnel.

NYC Tunnel Plot Just Online Chatter (alternet)

For an excellent example of home grown terrorism and conspiracy, let's examine the coordinated Republican attack against the telecommunications infrastructure of the New Hampshire Democratic Party. The alleged terrorist behind this attack is Republican jihadist Sean Hansen who says he had U.S. Executive branch clearance to terrorize the Democratic Party call center by jamming the phone lines and taking down their call center. You can read more about it at senate majority.

The District Court filing is there explaining it all in PDF.

What? Just because they plotted to incapacitate the network of American citizens without the use of explosives, you don't think its terrorism?

Taking down a piece lifeline telecommunications infrastructure to impose a political agenda is a terrorist act. If the Republicans did it, then Republican terrorists did it. It's a felony that can be prosecuted as terrorism under the Patriot Act. And if the Executive authorized terrorism in an effort to disrupt democracy, those involved should be brought forward to accept their punishment under the very laws they created to protect democracy. That would be justice.

Subject: Stealing the 2006 Election

VOTERS BEWARE

Wake up America. It is not Bush’s affability that makes him likable. If you are truly honest and check the things this man has done personally and politically, there is not too much affability about him. It is the spin and totally biased news that keep telling you what a nice person he is, over and over and over. When you go back to the 2000 Presidential election (being from Palm Beach County, I still have trouble getting over it), try to get hold of tapes, audio or preferably video of the debates. Bush was thoroughly trounced by Al Gore. The instant polls made Gore the decisive winner. The same held true for Kerry in the 2004 debates. Almost unanimously, all instant polls favored the Democratic candidate.

Within minutes the spin started. Having almost complete control of the media, the Conservative spin doctors whittled away at a decisive Democratic victory until the loser became the winner. It had nothing to do with affability or charm and especially intelligence. It was all in the spin.

There is no conscience when they keep spinning different reasons and lies, every week, for why we went to Iraq. More lives lost, who cares? It’s the spin that counts. My hopes in 2000 were revived when the two parties argued before the Courts.

Again, try and watch tapes of the proceeding. The Democratic lawyers were much more eloquent and informed and more importantly, correct, than their counterparts. Again, it made no difference. The Conservative spin and courts gave it to the Republicans, making a sham of the whole election.

Think what the world would be like today, if they had ruled for Gore.

Now, in November, we come to what is probably the most important election in the history of our country. We can not give the Bush Administration any more gifts, in light of how they have behaved for six blatantly corrupt years. The harm caused to our Constitutional values would take decades to correct, if ever.

I keep reading and hearing we have to get the Democratic vote out in overwhelming numbers to make sure they don’t steal another election. What makes anyone think, even if the Democrats win 70% of the vote, they still won’t fix the vote with their highly suspicious electronic machines? These people have proven they are shameless and if they change an overwhelming Democratic victory again, what can we do? Who do you think the Courts will side with? They’re stacked with more Bush lackeys than in 2000.

Ask yourselves why they want to stop proven reliable exit polling and more importantly the paper trail. You’ll get the phony spin about cost and reliability. Go look at bank deposits and ATM machines and grocery stores. You get receipts and many of the machines are made by Diebold. Yet you’ll hear the usual biased spin about cost.

Supermarkets and banks can afford a paper trail, but when it comes to our most precious Constitutional right, it costs too much.

The only reason they fight exit polling and the paper trail is they hope to steal another election. The Republican spin makes outhouses smell good.

Wake up America, time is surely running out. Speak out about your right to have your vote actually count. Without verifiable counting practices, this most corrupt of Administrations will steal your vote, no matter the turnout.
