Subject: Voter Lists

hey buzz,

great interview with greg palast...it's time to do some pre-election investigating...get a hold of every county voters list and mail everyone on that list...a week later mass mail everyone, yeah everyone, asking if they received proof that they were on the list...supply a toll free number that will direct them to their local registration office...re-check the list and continue the process right up to the week before election day...it's a long extensive and expensive project, but i'm sure the republicans are spending more to keep voters off the lists. this shouldn't be necessary, every american citizen has the right to vote. you need an independent federal elections office to protect and guarantee each citizen the right to vote.

Subject: Church Bells To Ring--2,500 U.S. troops Dead

DemocracyRising.us has called for a ringing of church bells across the nation, to mark the tragic milestone of 2,500 U.S. deaths in the Iraq War. The Louisville Peace Action Community contacted dozens of churches in Louisville with this message: Ring your church bells 25 times, at 12:00 noon, on the day after the 2,500th soldier is killed in Iraq. Please contact churches in your town or city to do the same.

We expect this bell ringing to be on Thursday 6/15 or Friday 6/16. Ironically, on Thursday 6/15, the House GOP leadership will introduce a resolution "to support the effort in Iraq." This is, of course, a thinly veiled attempt to undermine anyone who dares question the War. We need to contact all members of the HR to counter this GOP resolution and demand a legitimate resolution on the War that challenges Bush's statement that the "war is worth the high price to America."

Call your Representative and all Senators & Reps for free: 1-888-355-3588.

Thanks,

Subject: Asymmetrical Psy-Ops

I think the military shows a lot of honesty in insisting that the prisoner-of-war suicides in Guantanamo were an act of asymmetric warfare. This is equivalent to admitting that you have fought an engagement with your prisoners and lost. The enemy combatants obviously succeeded in the suicide itself (a tactical victory), and that act achieved the apparent objective of producing international condemnation of the United States (which, incidentally, is of no great concern to the Bush junta but does constitute a strategic victory).

So, what our generals are saying is that they were unable to win a sophisticated psychological operation waged against the United States by their own abject prisoners. I think it takes a lot of guts to admit a few slaves in dog cages can defeat the entire U.S. military in a well-planned engagement both tactically and strategically.

Of course, that news doesn't make me feel too positive about that same military's innate competence. They failed on 9/11 and they've failed now to protect us from the presumably willful and politically motivated suicides of a bunch of helpless people in cages.

It would seem that the military is not the answer to many of our problems, except possibly the problem of what to do with an awful lot of money when we don't want to fund schools and a humanely universal health care system.

Subject: Grover Norquist on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday

(a letter sent to ABC, ATR, George F. Will, and others)

Re: Grover Kafka's "The Cockroach II: Happy Birthday to Me!"

On ABC’s "This Week" this morning, George Will sat down to a mild discussion with Grover Norquist of the conservative anarchist group Americans for Tax Reform (ATR). Norquist’s opinions on a number of issues were elicited, although Mr. Will tactfully avoided any mention of his guest’s deep embroilment in the Abramoff corruption scandal. Most interestingly, I noticed that Mr. Norquist at one point reiterated a metaphor he had tossed about at the beginning of this year - a flawed metaphor that I at the time felt provided valuable insight on the most crucial errors plaguing modern right wing economic theory:

"If you put the birthday cake under the sink the cockroaches will find it. Get rid of the cake and you will get rid of the cockroaches." (January, 2006)

Firstly; why cake? Well, basically because ATR suffers from the same faulty grasp on social mechanics and lack of class empathy that caused Marie Antoinette to quip, "Let them eat cake." Norquist used this image due to its symbolism of excess and frivolity, ignoring the fact that even in a metaphorical world any type of food will draw "cockroaches" - apples, corn flakes, baby formula - if they are left in moist darkened enclosures where due diligence cannot be exercised. Of course any short perusal of Norquist’s writings will show that in using this metaphor he is indeed recommending that we recklessly discard the apples, cornflakes, and baby formula along with the cake. But what happens once these items are symbolically deposited in the garbage?

Norquist’s proposed cuts of essential government services would ensure that metaphorical trash collection would not occur - at least not on any dependable schedule. This would offer the cockroaches a massive, threat-free smorgasbord in the hallway, alley, or on the front sidewalk consisting of all household necessities that could have otherwise been sensibly protected for the benefit of the people living there. Refrigerators, elevated cabinets, transparent "tupperware", and common sense (i.e. don’t store food under your sink!) could all be purchased at some shared expense and used to protect such victuals from any species of scavenging vermin. Additionally, a regimen of vigilance and appropriate technology could be simultaneously employed to exterminate the loathsome insects right down to their nests, burrows, and think-tanks.

So a backhanded "kudos" to Grover; he has in fact provided an excellent metaphor for the unhindered, legislatively-enabled corporate looting of our nation's wealth and institutions. "Deregulation" is an absurd myth: humans unavoidably interact following rules - and it is up to society to decide whether those rules will make any sense. By removing democratically derived restrictions on economic behavior society puts itself at the arbitrary mercy of those who have the motives, power, and resources to set and rescind these rules at their opportunistic whim; to their own benefit; and to the detriment of greater society.

The lesson to be learned from Norquist's metaphor? When the cockroaches tell you where to store your food - squish them.

Subject: Zarqawi

KJ Lovell...and all else who find this almost too weird to even mention...we have three different stories now...he was found dead in the rubble...he moved and/or stirred on the gurney when he was being taken to the medical place (this might be the silliest lie)...does anyone really think they would take him to any place that would help? Now, the story is even better...he lived for about an hour! I am waiting for the fourth story...why does it matter? Because the more they lie the more they get the lies wrapped around their stupid tongues. He, I think, is another plaster or rubber masked face...like Uday and Qusay! I wonder if dems just look stupid because we all bought the 911 story? I realize they must...because this is done to raise Bush's ratings...so that he can do the original plan...carry this war on, until the next president has to deal with it...and it will be all his fault! I feared this for a long time!

Subject: Just a Brief Response

Someone responded to my letter about my belief that focusing on individual Americans and "telling them" what I think of them and their government is wrong. In fact this person believed that I was over reacting... Well, let me just clarify.

As a nation, Americans clearly don't care about how their governments conduct themselves. Through blind nationalism, the rest of the world is forced to swallow American imperialism and cruelty. It's time for regular American citizens to be told how proud they shouldn't be about what they've become as a nation.

When Americans say things like: "We own Canada" (California oil man) and "You should just fly our flag," (US NAVY SEAMEN) and "If it wasn't for us winning WWII Canada wouldn't even be here," (Two Jar heads in a Toronto bar), I feel I'm justified in conducting myself by vocalizing my displeasure at individual Americans.

If it wasn't for people calling American soldiers "baby killers" during the Vietnam conflict, the war may have dragged on longer. If people didn't call American politicians and police "pigs," the war may have dragged on longer. If American students hadn't protested violently, the war may have dragged on longer.

Perhaps my beliefs and my tactics may seem overwhelming and somewhat unfair, but so, too, is it unfair when police opened up and killed students in Ohio "to make a point." So, too, is it unfair that American guns were found in the hands of the alleged Islamic/Canadian terrorists. So, too, is it unfair that America condoned Pinochet's genocide. So, too, is it unfair that since 1991 America has systematically tried to starve the people of Iraq. Wait, here's a good one! How fair is it that Bush et al. have arrested Cindy Sheehan for having an opinion?!

Wake up! Learn to deal, my friend. I am but one man, with one voice. The fact that you may have taken offence to my assertions means that I have also offended or piqued the interest of others, and you know what that means? It means that people are listening. It means that as long as I have a voice and I'm upsetting you with it, people are thinking about what I say. I encourage all kids, all parents to protest at airports and campuses and on sidewalks in front of recruiting offices. You're Americans, start acting like it.

I have no malice towards any individual American, but until that nation starts acting like a nation again, until christian fascist philosophy is removed from TV and print and from government, I simply have to voice my opinion.

My protest by the way isn't typically Canadian. My protest is just one small way for me to make a difference. Oh, and one more thing... You're in New Zealand. Try living next to these "American Idiots" and tell me you wouldn't do everything you can to make a point.

"Save the world. Flip Americans the bird" (Insult is always worse than injury. Bush knows it and now; so do I.)

Subject: Zarqawi

It seems to me this country's behavior toward the dead body of our enemy Zarqawi has been vulgar and uncivilized. How do you suppose Moslem people react to this treatment--if their opinion of us could get any lower? How do we react when our soldiers and citizens are beheaded or their bodies displayed and maltreated?

Even my favorite Jon Stewart did this kind of thing on his show last night. I had to turn it off. Perhaps next we could go back to public hanging as entertainment.

Subject: The #1 Con

Wow, it's hard to keep up with the #1 con. I listened earlier [Tuesday] of news that he was meeting in Camp David with top advisers with a video conference link to top dogs in Iraq. NOW, I see on msnbc he made a surprise trip to Iraq. Can't they get the stories straight? And enough already on these poor sad pictures the leftist media is showing lately on #1 con. Like he is so sad and so concerned about what is going on. Has anyone else noticed?

I read about propaganda in the 50's in schools, and maturing, never thought I would see it so rabid in my own country, America. We have to save America.

Subject: Lessons Learned (Alberto Is Coming!)

Less than a year ago, we were swamped by hurricanes that cut a swath up through Florida, into Texas, on into Louisiana, Tennessee and up the coast; not once, but over and over and over again. The Big One, Katrina wiped out a city of millions while Bush attended a birthday party and strummed a guitar while almost two thousand citizens died. “Brownie, you’re doin’ a heck of a job.”

The fallout from Bush’s inattentive government was seen worldwide. The photos of mostly black citizens on rooftops, clutching children and signs begging for help, bore witness to an event the government could not hide. As late as a couple of months ago, bodies were still being found in houses and rubble still blocked streets and roads. Even the Vatican’s emissary told his boss, the Pope, that what he witnessed was shameful.

So you would think with this first hurricane of the season, a lesson had been learned. Even if there is no concern, you better pretend there is, right?

WRONG! It’s business as usual at Our White House - at least the business of war. Media articles tell us that Bush, obviously “celebrating a good week for the cause of freedom” took off for Camp David to convene a “war counsel” to discuss the best way to continue the Iraq occupation because, after all, al-Zarqawi’s death was not expected to stop the violence in Iraq but to increase it.

We began receiving tropical storm warnings about the same time Bush departed for Camp David. At the same time polls began popping up asking if we felt the government could handle this new hurricane season which expects at least 6 major hurricanes. The results were not good for the Bush administration. And, just about the same time, the “media” released an article stating how relieved Mr. Bush was that “Brownie” had taken the brunt of the criticism over the Katrina debacle instead of him or Homeland Security’s Chertoff (who ultimately controlled what “Brownie” was allowed to do.)

And while Bush throws himself into preparations to meet the challenge of a new al Qaeda appointee to Zarqawi’s vacated position, the other “war” conducted by Nature is upon us again.

As Bush was consulting his war team, Alberto was born. Evacuation calls went out because even 70 mile an hour winds in an area already hit by 3 hurricanes can still do a lot of damage. Not a strong one, this time, but Alberto was on the way by a Florida route that would eventually encompass most of the coastline and involve 5 states. Once more we see silence from Bush; too busy with his war plans and his assassination victory of al Zarqawi to notice a little thing like Alberto launching itself at Florida.

But this year, just like last year, the hurricane season is far down on Bush’s list of “things to do.” Like the ordinary citizens of Iraq still waiting for their cities to become whole again, New Orleans citizens wait for their cities to become whole again. And like the bombs keep falling in Iraq, the People of New Orleans are told that their new levees will not withstand a strong hurricane, that families still living in makeshift housing will have to evacuate again. That FEMA will not be their first rescuer, again.

The arrival of the first hurricane, after the record setting season last year, has been shoved off the news by what can only be considered another grandstanding photo op to assist the slight “bump” in the polls “media” reported after Zarqawi’s death.

The “breaking news” is that, on the day meteorologists expect Alberto to make landfall, George W. Bush is in Iraq taking care of the “business of war” instead of the “business of We the People.”

So now that Alberto is here we have the answer to the question that has been asked since before the flood waters receded from New Orleans; are we prepared? And the answer is: Nothing has changed. It is still up to We the People to save ourselves.

But couldn’t he at least PRETEND to care?

Subject: Rove

Today was the end of the Republic and the beginning of the reign of Bushus Augustus. I have given up hope on America and I am going to write an epic poem in praise of GW Bush called the Bushiad. Subject: Summer Reruns of the Bush Dog & Pony Show

Things must be pretty desperate in Republican Land if someone was able to convince Bush to go to Iraq. We all know that Mr. Bush thinks the sacrifices in Iraq are perfectly fine as long as he doesn’t have to be one.

What with Rove not being indicted Republicans should be picking up steam. No indictment for Rove, Zarqawi’s dead face shown at every conceivable opportunity, and now our usually fearful leader flying into Iraq, things should be a P.R. paradise.

Mr. Bush has shown time and time again that he has absolutely no idea how to govern, even if he is the “decider,” but that he’s just peachy at photo ops. (Under lessons learned we can be pretty sure that there is no rubber turkey aboard Air Force One on this trip.)

Rove can now concentrate on all the slimy little Rovian things he is so good at doing and we’re off to permanent Republican dominance of our country. Or so they hope.

The problem is that like all the other summer reruns, the electorate has seen this show before. It wasn’t all that good before and it is definitely second rate when repeated. For all the folks applauding Karl Rove as a genius he is nothing but a rather sad little sleaze who lies, spins, and slimes for a living.

The only bit of sunshine on the Republicans' horizon is the Democrats. Still no unity. Still no message. Still no guts.

Facing opposition like this, no wonder the Republicans and little slimy Karl Rove look like such winners. They are not all that good. Their opposition is just mostly that bad.

Thank goodness the grassroots are starting to make their voices heard. That is the only hope of this country. It may not be enough. It may not be now. But someday, Americans will take their country back, and if the Democrats are not a part of that movement? Oh well.

Subject: Election Credibility

Until we can reasonably guarantee the honest outcome of elections to be staged in '06 and '08, nothing will change. That's what I'd tell Howard Dean as he is reinvigorating the Democratic Party at the grass roots level. You can do all the organizing in the world, but if everyone's ballot is not counted, what do you have?

I suggest that if there is massive fraud in '06 all of us of the progressive stripe hit the streets like the Ukrainians did when their election was stolen.

Subject: We've Got To Stop Wasting Time

At a time when these fascists have our three branches of government wrapped up and in their coat pocket. How could there have been any doubt as to the outcome of this so-called investigation of Karl Rove? We're tying ourselves up in the same old same old business as usual status quo and, surprise, nobody's paying any attention to us. Unless we begin right away to put out a vision of the just and peaceful world that is not only possible but a must do, instead of our merely complaining about how bad this one is, we better start explaining to our children and grandchildren why it is that they'll be competing with one another for real estate at the North or South Pole on account of the fact that we did nothing to stop and/or reverse global warming, let alone this so-called war against terror.

Subject: Are They Serious?

Okay, you can say I have a rather bizarre and twisted sense of humor at times. Hell, sometimes, I don't even know where it comes from.

I broke out in hysterical laughter when listening to the big "news" about Bush's weekend out in the woods at Camp David to have an Iraq Strategy Pow Wow with his henchmen (oops, sorry Condi) to come with an effective strategy in Iraq.

So, these questions cross my mind:

1. Well, thanks for finally admitting that you had an ineffective strategy. The time for a strategy passed as soon as you sent our soldiers there for a reason that you still haven't been straight with us about.

2. An effective strategy? Okay, I didn't see the faces of any of the retired career military officers who have been very vocal of late in their criticism of you and your running of this illegal War on Iraq.

3. I did, however, see the same old faces there of the people who planned this idiotic stunt of yours for attention -- yep, there's old Darth Cheney, Donnie Rumsfeld, and, of course, there's Condi with her new "do" and her $500 shoes.

4. Oh yes, and why was everyone casual, but Condi was dressed up? Why can't she wear a casual shirt and outdoor gear?

5. So, why this coverage of this fruitless PR stunt? None of you really strikes me as a real outdoorsy type of person. Sorry, shooting quail or lawyers at short-range doesn't count.

Is it just me? Or, is this administration one of the most bizarrely funny things you've ever seen?

Subject: Bush Still Lying in Baghdad Today 6/13

"The successor to Zarqawi is going to be on our list to bring to justice," said Bush, who called the Jordan-born extremist's death "a major blow" to Osama bin Laden's group ... —George Bush as reported on Yahoo news.

C'mon, we all know Zarqawi was barely connected to Bin Laden and there's not even any evidence that "Al Qaeda in Iraq" was his name for his group. But we went to war to get even with the mastermind of 9/11 even though the source of that connection was never even stated.

The Bush gang NEVER mentioned Iraq or Hussein without referencing 9/11 in the months before the war. We made the Pavlovian connection ourselves and Bush is still ringing that bell!

I hope someone important picks up on this continuing manipulation.

Subject: Crooked Polls or Gullible Public?

Dear BuzzFlash:

So the US kills a terrorist - that's good, although we ought to know that there's plenty to take Zarqawi's place. Then George "surprises" us by showing up in the Green Zone. Some polls are showing a small jump for the Idiot-In-Chief, but what has he done to deserve the boost? His leadership? His bravado? That's politics for you. If things go well, take the credit - if not, find a patsy quick and deny everything.

What I wonder is how people's opinions can be swayed so easily. Even if it is just a couple of points, the fact that Bush gets a nudge in the polls for a war and genocide he started in the first place just because we see a dead terrorist all over the news is beyond me. And how quickly we forget Katrina. Either these new polls are rigged, which is highly likely, or people's attention spans and general understanding of what Bush has done is so short and shallow that they're easier to sway than a stalk of wheat in a tornado. This is also probably quite likely.

Now with Rove off the hook, we can look forward to more election fraud and theft this fall. I seriously doubt any Democrat has the balls to fight if they fail to gain control of either House to investigate voter fraud. We let the Republican career criminals steal the last two elections, Diebold is shoving them money and we still don't have a clear mandate to offer the public.

I had high hopes for 2006, but my own Senators won't return my correspondence. I won't hold my breath on Election Day.

Subject: Ann Coulter Wants the Best Victim Award

Ann Coulter is unhappy, actually she is rabid over the fact that the 9/11 widows have a reality based claim to being "victims" who are rightfully concerned about our government's lack of competence on National Security issues. Ann, being the Champion of claiming Victimhood for right-wing righteous republicans and their issues, where there is no factual basis for the claim, is throwing another tantrum for the "best victimhood award" on behalf of her partisan republican right-wing friends, who always seem to be the self-absorbed "Victim winning" butts of some hideous "liberal" Godless attack on them.

Examples: Stem cell research couldn't "just" be science attempting to find a way to eradicate terrible diseases...NO...according to the religious right it is the outcome of the GODLESS atheist Scientific community who are evilly undermining their Christian beliefs.

The all inclusive greeting "Happy Holidays" is really an "ATTACK" on Christmas and Christianity.

Gay marriage isn't just about human beings who love each other wanting the same rights to celebrate and express that as everybody else, and the same equal legal and civil rights to go with it...NO...according to the Christian right Conservatives, it is a conscious effort to DESTROY the very foundation of civilization and the institution of Marriage and family by the evil gay abominations! Another ATTACK on Christians and GOD.

VICTIMHOOD!

The right-wing extremists see them selves as VICTIMS of every one who isn't one of them, sharing their particular beliefs in everything.... and they turn everything into their personal Victimhood for their self-righteous selves.

I recently read that some of them are calling Al Gore a NAZI, for his "Inconvenient Truth" stand on Global Warming. Yes folks...trying to care for and save the planet and make it a better place for all, doesn't fit in with their fundamentalist Christian belief that this planet is a temporary place that God is going to destroy to punish the Godless heathens, any day now...so Al Gore must be an evil Nazi, trying to mislead God's FAITHFUL into thinking WE can make the world a better place.

Now Ms. Coulter is for some strange neurotic reason, upset and resentful that the 9/11 widows (women) are receiving any "special" respect, and support, or "media attention" as the result of 9/11 and the death of their husbands. Somehow THAT makes Republican Victims, less victimized then the 9/11 widows, in Ann's bizzare mind, and she wants to CLAIM the right to, and the attention of "equal Victimhood" opportunity for all. Her strategy...self-righteously VILLAINIZE the 9/11 widows!...SWIFTBOAT those "Broads"! Make THEM the evil doers who are actually hurting/victimizing COULTER'S far right friends by claiming any right to critically speak their minds...

Ann's goal? Regaining the best VICTIMHOOD platform back, for herself.

MUSN'T overshadow the great republican VICTIMHOOD CHAMPION ANN COULTER, and eat into HER exclusive neurotic "REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVE VICTIMHOOD" BOOK WRITING profits....might push her insecure, jealous, button and feel her very hateful, baseless in reality, twisted, and oh so superior, INDIGNANT VICTIM of the "Godless Left" money making wrath.

Subject: Karl Rove Ensures Another Dem Loss in November

Warning, this article contains some language that may not be fit for all ...

As much as I despise the scum ball and sleaze bucket that is Karl Rove, One has to give him credit for knowing how to win.... and winning, yes winning, is everything.

Unfortunately there are too many democrats, and progressives, and Independents, that don't seem to get it, and they don't seem to understand...and couple that with Karl Rove knowing which buttons to push, and knowing what to have his little puppet do...the guy knows what it takes to win.

What he did this time, and people like many in here, and most of the wimpy assed democrats leading our side haven't got the balls to do, is to kick Rove, and Bush, and all the rest of them right in the cajones and then, as I have said many times...piss all over them...Rove wouldn't hesitate in a minute to piss all over every one of us in here (figuratively speaking, of course).

So, what has Rove done now to ensure Republican victory in November and the retention of congress?

Very simple. He sent little Georgy out on the IMMIGRATION TOPIC, and in so doing has backed Dems into corners that they will never get out of.

He told Georgy....Go out there and preach your Guest Worker Program. Yeah, I know it's amnesty, but don't call it that...just keep calling for tough borders AND YOUR guest worker program for all the nice Mexicans that are already in the country.

Yeah Georgy, I know...your buddies in the house won't go for it, in fact they already have a bill to defeat it, so in essence you will be beating a dead horse.

But, guess what Georgy...you can get all those nice little republicans in the congress to stand up AGAINST YOU on this thing. They will look real good to their constituents while those dumb ass wimpy democrats are out there preaching amnesty from McCain and Kennedy, and they will lose, lose, lose, in any attempt to unseat one of our guys. In fact, they may even lose their seats.

And don't tell anyone Georgy, but your good buddy John McCain is in this thing with me.....and he really conned that drunken bastard Kennedy this time...making Kennedy look like a fool. hehehehehehel

So, don't worry Georgy, you go keep preaching your Guest Worker Bill, even though we know it will never get out of the house...let's watch the Dems sink even deeper come November.

Then, when we control congress again, you won't have to worry about being subpoenaed and we can get all of our nice little bills passed to benefit all our nice donors and all the nice CEOs and BIG companies, too.

So, go to it Georgy...look like a nice guy, and get out there and screw them dumb dems once again. Damn, it is so easy with those wimpy assed bastards. They are so friggin dumb. heheheheheheh

And that is it in a nutshell my friends...once again, Dems wimp out, and lose...think not, guess again, you can already smell it.

But, if they change NOW, and go all out and attack, there will be hope. Do they have the balls? I doubt it.

Subject: Kennedy and His DUI

Is it just me or can you say media spin? What I am talking about is many many RETHUGlican scandals, most notably is Rove's attorney saying that he won't be indicted and the MSM responding with a 5-second sound bite on this while they spend the entire F****kin' day speaking about a Democrat's brush with the law (Kennedy).

I am sorry, but I find illegal spying, leaking a CIA agent's identity, dumbya saying if someone leaked they would get fired, and phone jamming, not to mention the voter suppression in Ohio, stolen elections, lobbying scandals, torture, illegal spying on innocent Americans and last but certainly not least - American soldiers playing soccer with the decapitated heads of Iraqi people more important than that of a Kennedy driving while under the influence. Heck, I have seen many, many RETHUGlicans run stop signs and kill motorcyclists and make less of a media blip.

When are the American people going to wake up and take this country back to the safe, freedom loving, peaceful nation that it was before the horror of 2000?

It seems that racism is alive and well. The MSM spends more time reporting on Gay Marriage and Illegal immigrants than the crimes (war crimes and domestic crimes) of this so-called administration. Dumbya's call to hate over the immigration issue and gay marriage whipped up the racist, uneducated voters into a rabid lather. But the uncovering of the corruption in this misadministration seems to do quite the opposite.

I guess dumbya's no child left to hide behind has worked wonders for the dumbing down of America.

All these years I never understood how the German people could have turned a blind eye to the crimes of the Nazis, and as of 2000, I have been living their lives.

Unfortunately for all of us, we are in one way or the other the "Jew" that took the worst that the Nazis had to offer.

Will you stand up to this corruption when someone is playing soccer with your neighbor's head? If not, don't expect anyone to stand up when your head is the ball.

Do not let these Nazis in power here in America kill all the progress of democracy that our forefathers planned for and provided us. There is a reason there are checks and balances in government. It is because our forefathers in their infinite wisdom knew that those in power may not always be good, caring and kind people. Their checks and balances made a system that works, and one that corrects any injustice.

Remember, as Rev. Martin Luther King said: "An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

Also remember a terrorist may not always be someone that is from another country that blows things up. A terrorist is someone that works to instill fear in people. Therefore it follows that a terrorist can be a person in your very own country in a position of extreme power.

As a child George W. Bush used to insert firecrackers in frogs and cats and set them off. Now just remember that most little boys that abuse and torture animals don't grow up to be president. They usually grow up to be serial killers. Food for thought.

Subject: Virgin Republican Icons

Hey Buzzers,

Since both Ann Coulter and Condi Rice have never been married and they are Republicans who MUST favor abstinence since they've never spoken out against it, it follows that they must both be virgins.

Let's refer to them henceforth as The Virgin Condi Rice and The Virgin Ann Coulter. (Also The Virgins Ken Mehlman, Josh Bolton and David Drier.)

Maybe Ann dresses so slutty because she doesn't want to be a virgin and he/she's hoping someone will take an interest.

Wouldn't it be great if they were asked by journalists if they supported abstinence-only sex education and then were directly asked if they were virgins?

Republican = Hypocrite

Subject: What To Do?

To the writer of "What to do?"

I felt I had to respond to a writer who seems to mirror my own feelings. I too remember the ducking--under--the--desk drills, so we must be of a similar age. It is up to us--the people who have lived through so much, to provide an example for the less informed of the younger generation (brilliant Buzzflash types excluded, of course!) I think the writer's most troubling words were:

People talk about the Democrats winning the next election, all the time forgetting that the GOP controls the voting machines. So, what good will it do to vote?"

And always I ask, what can we do? How do we stop these creatures? Sometimes people talk about "revolution." And I ask, HOW? WHERE? But no one ever has an answer.

I am one small very insignificant unimportant powerless very-far-from-wealthy person who is utterly scared to death and has no idea how to stop them.

I previously sent a list of things we could do to make an impact. Educate yourself? Talk to people? I agree that you need to educate yourself, but you can talk to right-winger holy rollers until you're blue in the face, and you'll get that blank stare. They follow a formula. They do not think! They will not think! Better to talk to LIKE-minded people. Make sure they DON'T feel insignificant and helpless like the writer quoted above.

I believe we must hit the pocketbooks; theirs and ours! Give only to those who are defending our voting rights and standing for all Americans in need of a clean environment, health care and a fair chance at some reward for their hard work. Decide which Democrats deserve your support and give until it hurts!

And their pocketbooks? I once wrote in about cutting off the cable company. No, not completely--just subscribe to basic cable-- you can still get CNN (whatever that's worth!). What did I hear from another BUZZFLASH reader? Something like, well I sign every petition on the Internet, and I enjoy my TV. Oh, really? Guess what--the Internet petitions are about to be cut off completely. Haven't you heard? We're going to have to start writing real letters!

So what else can we do? Revolution? I don't think so! Did anyone see them carry off Cindy Sheehan? Try to take a public stand and you'll be drawn and quartered, or at least shot! But keep in mind, they do need our money! Buy Blue--there's a web site. Don't buy that irresistible piece of garbage from China; try garage sales or e-bay.

I feel for people like Shirley, who find there is some kind of gene in their own families and among their friends for right-wing wrong-headedness! We gave our "friends" the cold-shoulder for a couple of years. Seems now that Bushie isn't doing so well they want to "catch up." They had always attacked and abused throughout the Clinton years and during the last two elections. We feel their friendly overtures are a form of admission that maybe, just maybe they were wrong about Bush.

We have outclassed them by NEVER attacking, only responding to statements they make. Thus they have received a strong message about their own idiocy!

Know what else works? Laugh at them! I must have watched or read Stephen Colbert's speech to the press corps 20 times! You can catch Jon Stewart at 8:00 am or pm--no need to stay up too late. Laugh your ass off at them because they are indeed, utterly ridiculous!

We must use every possible means to stay strong and never turn away. The minute we do, our freedom is gone.
