Subject: What We Need Now Is a Bloodthirsty Shark Democrats, progressive or not, are now taking great delight in junior Bush's in the toilet poll numbers. Good. Celebrate and get it over with. Some are already acting as if the November mid term elections are a shoe-in and that the party will retake the House and the Senate. Not so fast. If this administration does anything well it's rising from the ashes. They've done it over and over again. Just when you think you have them on the ropes, they knee you in the groin. Things may work out differently this time, however. For a long time Democrats have needed a hatchet man, someone who will play rough and slit throats when the need arises. I think they've got one in Rahm Emanuel, congressman from Illinois and a former policy advisor to President Clinton. Along with Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, they head the party's efforts to retake both houses in the Fall. Emmanuel is a shark. The smell of blood in the water invigorates him and ignites his lust to crush opponents into dust. I believe Hunter Thompson would have liked him. This is just what the Democratic party needs right now. We don't need "Bush lite" or people who tack to the left or the center or the right based on the morning polls. Emanuel is a guy who plays for keeps. He'll f**k with you and beat you down. But best of all, he wants to win. Right now he's busy telling Democratic congressional candidates that they better get out there, beat the bushes, meet the people and raise a specific amount of cash. If they don't, Emanuel tells them not to expect an infusion of cash from the party. That's the only thing he knows they'll understand, and he uses it. He's sick of being the minority party. Frankly, I don't care what Emanuel does as long as he lights a fire under the lame and lazy asses of the Democrats. Those of us who've voted Democrat all our lives have been looking for someone like a Rahm Emanuel for a long time. The party doesn't need a savior, it needs a pragmatist who knows how to get things done. We don't need any more freewheeling discussion about issues. We don't need any more of those useless form letters and emails to the president. If I even see another email asking me to add my signature to an "Open Letter to President Bush," I'm going to go postal. Talk about a useless waste of time and money. All the open letter format does is give someone the feel good illusion that they've actually accomplished something. We don't need any of this right now. We need Rahm Emanuel, someone who works to win and gets pissed when he doesn't. We don't need any more lofty rhetoric. We need a bloodthirsty, hungry shark. Bill Chickering Subject: More Impeachable Offenses Ignored by Congress More reasons to impeach Bush for abuse of power: He doesn't believe in Separation of Church and State. He uses our tax dollars without Congressional approval (Rumsfeld, too). They haven't been excused of criminal prosecution by the UN, World Court, or US citizens.
The Moon King of Paraguay: Protected by U.S. Troops (brazzil.com) and this..... http://www.consortiumnews.com/archive/moon.html We Americans said after Nixon, we did not want to interfere in other countries' governments and even passed a Freedom of Information Act so we could discover what was going on. These criminals are now the same group as we put out of power all those years ago. This President has denied access to thousands of previously non-secret documents. He has sent our troops to foreign lands without Congressional and citizen approval. It's obvious he is up to a lot of illegal actions and it's not to bring democracy to the S. American people (or us). It's plain robbery and tyranny. He had taken too much power allowed in a democracy. It is our government and he is only an employee not a king. Or is he? States have started demanding impeachment. I say start a petition campaign in your state. A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: Re: No More Bushes or Clintons Thanks to Jeff Cohen for his thoughtful and insightful article bemoaning the fact that we continue to have Bushes and Clintons offered to us for national office. Surely, America has other qualified men and women to offer for the presidency. The Bushes have been ineffectual and downright dangerous. Although I admire Bill Clinton, offering Hillary for the presidency is a waste of time and votes (and I was a member of the so-called " First Lady's Club" when Bill was in office. ) America and certainly conservatives will NEVER go for this, even though Hillary is as close to Republican-lite as a Dem can get. Hopefully the Dems can offer someone better.....if not maybe the Greens will do it. Dee Turner Subject: FBI puts SOA Watch, Human Rights Group, Under "Counterterrorism" Surveillances (The Progressive) And this is how George W. Bush and Porter Goss keep America safe ... and throw more taxpayer monies out the window. Goss said the trust, confidence and latitude that Bush placed in him "is something I could have never imagined." Could someone try to wake the Democrats out of their hundred year sleep? A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: This Nutty Nation Last night, after Ray McGovern spoke his mind, I was proud ... it did my heart good! Being a former CIA agent he had information behind him. Then this morning I awoke to Patrick Kennedy getting lambasted in the news ... and they went back over his entire fight with drugs ... all the way back to when he was three. Now he is off the first page of news ... and gee, whilikers ... it is Porter Goss ... Now we have to find out if he is or was involved in hookergate? Gee ... what next? My mind cannot take much more of this. Shirley ... St. Louis Subject: Racist Republicans I see you're running yet another article bashing the conservatives because they don't want to open the border and let unlimited numbers of uneducated, unskilled people from a country that has embraced a culture of crime into our country. Being that I am a liberal, I'm amazed that media liberals can't see this situation objectively and realize that there is a down side to the illegal stampede. These people use the same tactic as the evangelical christians. They break the law, then when they face accountability, they claim persecution. In reality, they aren't PERSECUTED, they're facing the prospect of being PROSECUTED for premeditatively breaking the law. It's just a power grab, promoted by an administration run amok with illicit power and related by marriage to President Vincente Fox ( Jeb Bush is married to Fox's sister). Liberals didn't see the power grab coming from the religious right, and now, we're ushering it in from South of the Border. I read an interesting comment on Alternet yesterday in which a blogger wrote that Bush wants the illegals to stay here so the Repugs in the House passed that stringent felony/fence bill just to bait the Democrats into supporting the president's objective. It's worked beautifully, don't you think? Liberals have become so reactionary, they pounce on what looks like a chance to frame the Republicans as racists. Meanwhile, the Republicans have framed the Democrats, once again, as the "hate America first" crowd that's weak on national security. I do have to wonder about the agenda of the Left on this one. Are liberals really too stupid to see that there's a real down side to letting lawbreakers, willing to do anything for money, come into this country? (I love how they have taken a cue from Bush and they get out in public and insist that they haven't committed a crime and they have a right to be in this country, which can only be arrived at through some very convoluted thinking and huge support from corporations). Can liberals not see that we're in a time when state and national resources are strained and disappearing? To see that Americans are being forced to subsidize a slave labor force for corporations? To see that we're already supporting Iraqis and now we will be forced to support all the illegal hispanics the corporations can smuggle in here? I thought liberals would be smart enough to realize that labor must be regulated all over the globe before we can just open the border and let everyone from the third world come in our country and rely on the American taxpayers, who are losing jobs to the cheap illegal workers, to float them. But I guess liberals are just as tribal as conservatives and just as willing to pander to the corporations to get votes. (The Republicans will outsmart us on that account, too. Illegals are owned by American businessmen who pay smugglers to bring them across the border and they'll vote Republican, if they get to vote). A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: An Open Letter to Al Gore, Citizen and Patriot Dear Mr. Gore, I am writing to you, the American Citizen and the American Patriot. The time is NOW! The United States Citizens need you NOW! I won't go over all of the hundreds of reasons that 68% of U.S. Citizens no longer trust the bush Administration to do the job of pResident. We are well aware that the Supreme Court and 1,000 pro-bush lawyers in Florida's 2000 Presidential election, stopped the recount that would have earned you the 2000 Presidency. That is now an undisputable fact. More than 50% of the voters voted for you in 2000. Less than 50% voted for bush. The Electoral College elected bush not U.S. Citizens. I have a dream ... Before I tell you my dream, let me tell you why the U.S Citizens need you NOW! You are a U.S. Citizen, a Proven Patriot, a leader, and a man whose words and deeds have been proven trustworthy. My dream is that you Mr. Gore call a press conference to lay out your plan for Independence Day eve July 3, 2006. Your plan as dreamt by me is as follows: 1. Appeal to other Patriots in the Secret Service, Federal Marshals, and approx. 1,000,000 U.S. Citizens to meet with you around the White House compound on July 3, 2006. Once all arrive, you, sir, simply knock on the gate and invite bush and cheney to have a little chat. 2. Tell them that you are there on behalf of 68% of U.S. Citizens who are more than happy to provide safe escort for bush and cheney to his home in Crawford, Tx. 3. Start fixing everything bush and cheney have destroyed. Sincerely yours, A Dreamer P.S. Then on July 4, 2006, we can truly celebrate America's Independence Day. P.P.S. We need you NOW! America can now longer wait till 2008. A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: Media -- For Barbara Barbara, You wrote [in Barbara's Daily BuzzFlash Minute]: "What the management at CNN doesn’t seem to realize is there are more liberals in America and the world than there are conservatives, and by turning their back on the liberal population they’ve flushed themselves down the proverbial ratings toilet!" The media moguls don't give a s**t about ratings. Corporations bought into media interests to control information being disseminated, pure and simple. They don't own media for profit, or ratings. They own media to control, mainly news about their corporations, and secondly, the political machine (Bush and Repugs) feeding their corporations. Regards, Kevin K. Subject: Thank You BuzzFlash thank you for the service you try to provide to rational, intelligent adults who give a damn, not only about this country, but also about this world. i have been visiting this website daily for i don't know how many years now, so it saddens me to report that I JUST CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! i cannot continue to read about the unchecked corruption of the repuglican party or about the spineless do-nothing democrats, or about the corrupt and spineless american press. all i can do is throw my hands up and scream 'big f---ing deal' to everything i hear and read when it pertains to the government. there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that the common citizen can do anymore-voting doesn't matter since the machines are pre-programmed, the media will always shill for the politicians who pay the most, and the little guy who thinks that anyone has a chance to succeed in this great country will always have sand kicked in his face by wealthy corporations. the religious right has succeeded in dumbing down the populace so that the majority of 'good christian folk' couldn't think an independent thought if their lives depended on it (which actually, is now the case-let's nuke iran and get on with the rapture...yeah!). i am totally disgusted, and though i hate to say it, i give up. A BuzzFlash Reader [BuzzFlash Note: You're saying things we all have thought ... but we don't think our efforts are in vain ... we see positive signs and possibilities for change. Stick with us! What a lunatic? All those people deserved to die for any damn reason Dubya and her dad came up with. I won't be reading this book. This idiot would sell her soul to start another war. Speak up or they assume you agree!!! ABB Karen Webb Subject: CNN Like Fox "Paula Zahn cross examining Ray McGovern about his heroic Rumsfeld heckling 5/6" I'm disappointed that you use the same phrase as the rest of the enabling media. I think a better way to put it would have been "his heroic demand for truth from Rumsfeld." Tom Marshall Subject: Moussaoui Gets Life in Prison Moussaoui may have been tortured or even has a mental problem. One doctor said he was. He could not have done all he says. Now the judge orders him never to talk? Isn't that inhumane and useful for a cover up? I don't believe anything about 911 from this government. It was all a "dog and pony show" for Empire. No the Islamics are not out to destroy us. It is within and it is for profit and power... Fascism. Wake up those who are ready to blame everyone but our own leaders for all this evil and destruction. Judith Stevens Subject: Re: Goss Resignation and Negroponte
... Or maybe Negroponte wanted to do things even Goss was not capable of to his own country? Negroponte is capable of terrible things which the Congress knew when they approved his appointment. Seems the abuse of power and destruction is not just "over there" but here at home. A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: Negroponte has a BULLSEYE on his ass! Dear BuzzFlash friends: How big is this FUBAR White House mess going to get? My sources in Washington, DC are telling me that "friends" of Porter Goss have put out an All Points Bulletin on John Negroponte!! There was never any love lost between those two from the outset and it now appears that Goss's leaving was not of his own personal accord but he wanted to put distance between himself and Negroponte to attack him on the outside as well as some higher ups in the WH who sided with Negroponte. Can you say "WH Civil War?" What a fiasco! This is just going to get uglier and nastier, day by day, stay tuned. Peace. Ron Gordon Subject: Happy 6th Anniversary Congratulations on staying true to your vision and expanding it in a way that is consistent with your core values. That's a tough balancing act when so many are so willing to sell out. Keta Hodgson Subject: CNN...they report...you decide I saw a reporter on TV talking about how the pentagon wanted to use a tape in which Zarqawi appeared confused by a particular gun as propaganda to embarrass him. I thought to myself maybe not such a wise move, sounds kinda like BRING EM' ON. Then I changed channels and saw CNN's Kyra Phillips laughing and joking about the tape calling Zarqawi Barney Fife. Clearly getting her talking points from the Pentagon. Then I saw that right-wing Paula Zahn grilling that former CIA agent about asking Rumsfeld the questions the media should be asking and won't. She acted as if he had no right to challenge Rumsfeld! As an American citizen I was appalled and offended! Karen Massey Subject: Water The people who gave us the Nestle boycott (formerly Infact, now Corporate Accountability International) are starting a campaign to keep water safe worldwide and expose the bottled water scam. For more information go to www.stopcorporateabuse.org. And spread the word. Thank you. Selma Goldberg Subject: Desecrating Flags or Our Civil Liberties A Senate panel recently advanced a proposed constitutional amendment to ban flag desecration, while ignoring the fact that George Bush and his cohort have been defiling our civil liberties since Saudi led terrorists attacked us on September 11, 2001. In the considered opinion of the ultra-conservative Cato Institute, George Bush has abandoned his oath to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." The institutes's recent White Paper charges that the Bush administration has devolved into a regime that supports:
Which begs the question: why doesn't the Republican controlled Senate Panel respect our Bill of Rights as much as they do the flag that cloaks the treacherous machinations of the men "behind the curtain." Walter F. Wouk Subject: CIA Head Spook Out Gee, Duke and Dusty and Foggo and Goss at the Watergate with Hookers, cigars, poker, and bribes. Gannon making outcalls at the White House. "Turd Blossom" with a high level security clearance running political campaigns from the White House, and on the public's dimes. What a totally fu**ed up madhouse. Suzanne Subject: Rumsfeld & McGovern in Atlanta Audience members in Atlanta who booed Mr. McGovern are probably Klan descendents. In his radio interview with Amy Goodman Ray McGovern said their reaction was scary. As in politically ignorant, I interpreted. They are so used to bullying blacks that it comes as a shock to them to be up against a person in the right who's argument can't be refuted. Sounds like the same batch of sore losers that broke up the Florida vote recount in 2000. Liz Walker P.S. Regarding the Patrick Kennedy 2:30 a.m. "vote attempt": Do you remember Colin Powell saying he uses Ambien and doesn't everyone in Washington? This may be the best big clue yet explaining the sleepwalking fog they're all in over there! Subject: Brand Bush Your editorial of May 5 makes some valuable comments. It is true that Bush is nothing more than a marketed brand, and that Republicans have no problem with playing that game to the hilt. It isn't a new problem, of course. They have been doing that since at least Nixon, though I wouldn't argue that they haven't perfected the art recently. Regrettably, you veer into untenable territory when you seek to blame Democrats for not getting this simple game. Democrats are not strangers to marketing, and they too have become much better at it. The difference is one you shouldn't have trouble seeing. Democrats are marketing reality, while Republicans are not so constrained. I don't think you would have Democrats begin to play the game like Republicans, without regard to evidence or reason. What Democrats are marketing as their brand is "competence", and by definition that's a little boring, but it has the redeeming quality that you don't have to lie or dissemble to sell it. Moreover, once sold, it has a much longer shelf life. Once you get a taste for meat and potatoes, there aren't enough ads in the world to get you to go back to dog food. And, if polls are any indication, the pitch is working. It is true, as you point out, that we have been playing on a rigged field. The supposed referees, the media, call the game in favor of the corporate team, the Republicans. But it is a much larger problem when presumed members of your own team start taking unjustified cheap shots at your coach. At the very least, have the courtesy to suggest a positive alternative the next time you want to bang Democrats for "not getting it." Mark Subject: Thank You for Being Here BuzzFlash, I want to thank you for being here when I needed you the most. A senior citizen, who believed in *every vote counts.* After the darkest days, of that stolen election, that brought us the Pretender, 2000, I didn't think I could ever get through the anger, and the feeling of disbelief. How could this happen in America? Well, it did, and I didn't know what to do with those bad feeling, that overwhelmed me. There you were! I never wrote a letter of discontent to anyone, especially a letter so many others would read. I wrote to you afraid to sign my name. You wrote back and said, "please sign your (my) name." You said it in such a way, I did sign, as a BuzzFlash reader. But only after so many courageous readers did so, before me. The Pretender, brought so much fear into our lives, it took you and other readers to help me feel it was our right to fight injustice, with our freedom of speech. I was with you then, and I am with you now. I support BuzzFlash, and always will. Not with big bucks, sorry to say, but with what I can. Like Howard Dean made it known, that every little bit adds up. By the way (at this time I don't remember), have you been asked to be the Honoree of the WINGS OF JUSTICE? If not, let me suggest that you deserve this honor for yourself, and those who help you bring BuzzFlash, to us. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Sincerely, Angela ... Philly Subject: BuzzFlash's Sixth Anniversary Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Bushco-exposing, liberty-loving, Constitution-supporting, Bill-of-Rights-affirming BuzzFlash, Happy birthday to yoooooooooou. (And many more.......) Jon Krampner Subject: Weapons Just read (Yahoo) about the downing of the helicopter in Basra and the ensuing riot. The story mentioned shoulder missiles, rocket-propelled grenades and other weaponry. Wouldn't it be helpful if the news sources, like KR, Yahoo, AP, Reuters, etc. mentioned where the weapons came from? Were they sold to Saddam by American or British firms, or perhaps looted from unguarded ammo dumps? It would be a sad irony if British or American troops were killed by British or American ordinance. The soldiers' loved ones have a right to know. As Rumbo, my new nickname for that bastard, said, "Stuff happens." Patty Coombs [BuzzFlash Note: "Rumbo" is good, we like it! And you're right to question the source of munitions (have you seen "Lord of War"?). Those familiar with such stuff might be able to judge from news photos.] Subject: Democrats Winning the House It is a great article about Dems being poised to win the House. I do not think we will win anything until the voting is fair. I don't think America is conscious of voting problems. I used to hate the wet blanket who used to blog during the primaries in 03 about how we had Diebold issues, but she was right. We lost because of them. It was not because we had to "reorganize" or "create our message" or any other media lies. The Corporate media was told not to discuss the voting fraud, even among themselves. That has to be the main battle cry. mev Subject: Democrats Okay now what are the dems waiting for to jump on a golden opportunity to win back some voters that have abandoned ship? I for one cannot believe that someone with some sense doesn't step to the forefront and start pointing out the tricks that have been played on the working people of this country. For the last five years the powers that be have screwed the people of this great nation and the next three to four generations with no response from the other party but bending over for more of the same. Either they're all afraid to have anyone looking into their backgrounds including their families or they are afraid they're going to hurt someone's feelings. One thing is for sure, the repuglicans sure don't mind piling on when they get a chance. Come on, dems, start telling the truth about what goes on or you will be letting this crowd run this country the rest of the way into the ground. J T Davis Subject: Melissa Rossi's Fine Book Dear BuzzFlash: I am currently reading Melissa Rossi's book What Every American Should Know About Who's Really Running The World that you offer in your book section. This is money well spent and I'm glad to be a regular contributor to your site, although my modest income doesn't allow me to contribute as often as I'd like. I strongly urge every BuzzFlash reader to get this book. Now. It isn't a happy read - in fact it is infuriating when you realize that for the most part, Armageddon crazed neocons and the industrial complex are the real powers in the U.S. Far from a conspiracy themed book, it's point blank, full of references to support the facts, and, in the face of Bush, the Patriot Act and his myriad spy agencies, a brave effort. The country is dancing on the edge of a razor blade waiting to see if Bush attacks Iran, which he will, and what happens next. If the polls are a good indication, hundreds of thousands of Iranian civilians, if not a million, could perish if Bush nukes them. When that happens, it'll be no doubt in contempt of Congress, who will have no choice but to impeach him. It's their political asses or his. Attacking Iran without a formal war declaration and killing so many is such a horrible trade off to get rid of this lunatic, but that's probably what will happen sometime this summer. This book outlines the neocon outlook and such a scenario seems more inevitable than ever. Of course, I imagine Ms. Rossi, the entire BuzzFlash staff, myself, and anybody who ever dared to write to you is on some computer base somewhere, so some paranoid agent can keep an eye on us subversives. I think every person who wants this country back should make it on that list. Scott Subject: Bush Brand-Horse Meat As usual you are correct Buzz with your piece on Bush and the Media. It actually started before the 2000 debacle and the Bush family was declared the "darlings of the media." In my sixty one years I've never witnessed the shameless and twenty-four-seven promotion of a President and his cronies that we are subjected to today. They have literally crammed this excuse of a President down our throats! Also when Bush is not plastered on the screen it's usually one of his loyal circle defending or promoting his brand of politics or holier than thou reasoning. The so-called news persons or program hosts also almost to the tee promote Bush's lies, policies and double speak as fact with their delivery. We have never been spoon-fed so much Bushsh*t type propaganda in our nation's history. Apparently we are so dumbed down and complacent that we accept this type of coverage as gospel. But I believe Bush has always had low numbers with Americans, and the media and pollsters are just beginning to tell us the truth for whatever reasons. Lawton Watson Subject: Fishing for Accomplishments I had to write a haiku about Bush's "best moment" in office.
Thanks! Mad Subject: Sign Petition to Investigate Big Oil Let your voice be heard, investigate the oil industry for profiteering and price gouging. http://staceyforcongress.com/petitions/pnum287.php A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: Bush Appointees First we had Michael Brown, then Harriet Miers, then Samuel Alito (and dozens of other nominees who have yet to fulfill their destiny). I don't know anything about this Hayden character, but given Bushie's track record on picking "Losers," I believe there are ample grounds for this nomination to be met with great skepticism. http://www.abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=1934306&page=1&WNT=true Tim Krause Subject: The Most Incompetent Person in the World I have a simple question. Why is Bush still allowed to make any decisions regarding our government? I've never known one decision he’s ever gotten right in his entire life, unless you count choosing the right parents; but he’s been completely wrong ever since then. Everyday, we can be absolutely assured of only one thing, he will be more wrong tomorrow. It would be interesting to see the scores he gets on the computer games he’s been known to spend so much time playing. I'll bet his frog gets killed every time. But just to dig a little deeper into my simple question; by his own belief in running it like a CEO, wouldn't he have been fired long ago? Any other CEO would have been fired for how this guy glazed over when it was whispered in his ear that we were under attack. By his own words, he said that it was much more important not to cause any discomfort to those children who wanted to hear him read about his pet goat. I wouldn't even mind if he took the biggest outa’-here-bonus in history. We who want him gone would quickly donate, and he will probably reap a very quick billion dollars! That would be on the cheap for what he’s costing us now. Why do we let him continue to sign laws (that he refuses to honor and protect), choose judges, State Department Secretaries, and CIA leaders that are consistently found incompetent? Would ANY other organization allow him to enter the building? He shouldn't even be allowed to choose which shoe to put on first; that’s way over his head! I would be very happy to see him make only two more decisions … which day next week will he get his sorry ass out of the White House for the very last time, and which lawyer he will choose to run his defense. I have complete faith that he will screw that one up too. Everett English Subject: Bush/Rove Everything about Bush, Rove and this administration, including the radical right wing republicans is PHONY, and totally misrepresentative of the American Way Of Life. They are a fascist dictatorship with theocratic determination to bring on the rapture if the PNAC can't get the oil.......If we don't recapture the country in 06 (and with diebold in place this will be impossible) then we are doomed to become a banana republic under the control of organized religion.....(not all religion, just their brand). These people are maniacal. Dr. Bob Subject: Hayden as CIA Chief When someone is nominated for a position, such as, Director of CIA, are they under oath? Since they say that Hayden is one of the instigators of the wiretapping, how can you get someone to ask this question? "General Hayden, did president Bush authorize wiretapping of private citizens, such as, democrats running for office, and anti-war groups? Remember, General Hayden, you are under oath"? Could be that would start the ball rolling. Marge Subject: General Hayden Hi Buzz..... I just saw a picture of General Hayden....Is he by any chance a twin to Karl Rove? Hmmmmmm, perhaps another push for a Bush administration robot? Genie Subject: Is Rove Doing "Bait and Switch"? I need all your help to find out what Karl Rove is really up to? And it ain't Iran. So far these are our shared common knowledge assumptions: Firstly, we all know that Rove et al. are busy plotting an October Surprise. After all it's the Republicans' only option for electoral success. We all suspect that the October Surprise is somehow connected with bombing Iran. It's the same successful electoral strategy as used with Iraq, and it's the only obvious possibility on the radar screen. Yet it is precisely the fact that it is so obvious that makes it all the more suspicious. Do Rove et al. really believe the American public (let alone the rest of the world) would fall for the exact same trick one more time? Call Rove many things, but I'd never call him stupid. He may be ethically bereft, but he is a tactical genius. I suggest the whole Iran story is simply a diversion tactic: Let all eyes turn towards the horrific vision of a nuclear holocaust in the Middle East, while simultaneously the Bush Administration prepares its own legislative holocaust on the home front. Remember, this Administration is looking at jail time once they lose power. Think they're going to hold back on any and all dirty tricks when their backs are against the wall? So come on BuzzFlashers, and Americans in particular. Let's connect the dots! We have to be smarter than the Machiavellians on the other side. Keep your eyes on the biggest picture! What is the Bush Administration really planning for October? From a New Zealander living in Germany. A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: 25th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States
I hope that the Plame investigation removes Cheney first, but at this point, we do not have the luxury of time. Get Bush out immediately with the 25th amendment, then impeach Cheney. Now. A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: More for Colbert More for Steven Colbert at the Washington correspondents dinner in my head The essence of political humor is not timing, but timeliness. It has to be topical, up to date, up to the minute. For example, if I say, “that John Adams! What was he thinking of? Those Alien & Sedition Acts. How can anybody so powerful – I mean he’s the President, for God sakes – be so insecure!” (Pause) See, not funny. Too stale. Here’s another example: If I say, “now where are those weapons of mass destruction? (Mimics the President, looking under the podium, etc.) I know they gotta be around here somewhere.” (Pause) See, not funny. Too stale. Now it was funny the first time, two years ago. That’s why we all laughed. It was topical, it was edgy, it was relevant. But it takes a comedic genius like our commander-in-chief to get it just right. You see my point. I can only say, what can we say about a President who is better at being a comedian than even professional comics? How about this: thank you, sir, thank you for inspiring us all. Thank you, Mr. President, for leading the way for all of us – from clowns to the deadly serious to the seriously dead – in the best way possible: by example. David Heckman Subject: Dems Taking Back the House Buzz, "When Democrats take back the House....." "Dean says....." How stupid! We keep telling you "they" own the voting machines, (as well as everything else) and you keep not listening. No wonder so many people write to the 'mailbag' and say "Let's save our democracy." How cruel to keep perpetuating the myth that we still have anything resembling a democracy! Again: THEY OWN THE VOTING MACHINES. A Buzzflash reader anyway....(to get the news) A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: GI Joe Should Be a No Go Bush and his reich masters want as many of their, kill-at-all-costs people in charge of our country and they do not care what you think about it or say about it. They are going to do it to you and your children and their children. Gi Joe in charge of the CIA is not a surprise to me when it comes to the 4th Reich's thinking. Jack Straw got the boot because he spoke up against the Führer Bush over in jolly old England. Porter Goss, now that's a rich kid's name, if I ever heard one! PORTER - the butler has your tally whacker, it was in the pool! Goss was found to be incompetent and he could not keep a good thing under wraps, being, hookers under the poker table in the Watergate Hotel. The Bushtag wants hard-nosed criminal elements to run their ops and no one tainted with freedom or investigations tailing them in charge of said ops. To me and my America, this 4-star freak Hayden is a Bush lackey to the max and will do anything the Führer wants. Remember, now, it's just a god damn piece of paper -G W Bush. Get it? Tom Koop Subject: Fourth Amendment as Revised by the Deciderer The people don’t understand the fourth amendment to the constitution. All information collected shall be classified as top secret and used in a manner determined to be reasonable by the C-in-C of the war on terror and drugs and perverts and other stuff. 9. They may be questioned and/or subjected to measures as necessary to solicit the truth to any question put to them according to the way the C-in-C reads the Constitution. These procedures shall remain in effect indefinitely until victory is declared by the C-in-C. The C-in-C is the sole deciderer of what constitutes victory. Joe |
