That’s why he didn’t swear Gonzales in. Now he’s just guilty of lying to Congress without the perjury charge attached. The man who created the Magic Bullet for the Warren Commission is still screwing over this country.
Ginny Subject: A Compendium of Abuses I have been a BuzzFlash reader and contributor for several years and first of all want to express my appreciation for your site as one of my primary sources of information. As I read through your headlines about the abuses of this administration and the Republican Congress which is intent on allowing them to continue unchecked, I was thinking that there is no way to keep track of ALL the crimes and abuses that have occurred over the last 5+ years. It seems like we get such a continual onslaught that it's hard to remember what happened last month, let alone last year or before. I would like to ask if there is some kind of compendium of these abuses to which those of us who need reminding can refer, as well as to present to our less-well-off and somewhat ignorant Republican friends and family to help them understand what has happened to their country. If not, I'm sure your contributors could put something together that provides a thumbnail listing combined with links to more detailed reports that we could send out to people. I really believe that part of the strategy for the republicans is to have so many violations that people are inclined to forget what has already happened. I know it's hard work on your part to keep us up to date, but this might be an excellent tool to help sway independents (are there really still people on the fence about these guys??) and true conservatives who are questioning this administration's policies. Anyway, if there is such a site or source as I have outlined I'd like to know about it. Thanks again for everything you do, and I'm sure I'll be contributing to your site again soon. Sincerely, A BuzzFlash Reader [BuzzFlash Note: One resource from us is our searchable database that started in August 2005. (Go to: http://www.buzzflash.com/search/ and enter your key words.) I HAD to respond today to Marie France-Germaine's letter "shrill and angry." Dearest Marie, First of all THANK YOU SOOO much for your support of those of us who see what is happening and doing everything humanly possible to stop the rise of the second Hitler in the White House. You mentioned a lack of anger and I wanted to say We ARE angry. George Galloway spoke to PACKED houses with amazing crowds who gave standing ovations and cheered when he spoke the unvarnished TRUTH powerfully and eloquently calling it like it is in regards to his government and ours. When he called the Bush Administration and Tony Blair murderers we CHEERED. ........but you'll NEVER see it on Fox News or CNN or any of the other mainstream media outlets. Those outlets are owned and controlled by Cheney and Associates (Clear Channel, etc.) Marie, last year, as best as ANYONE can guess, over THREE MILLION people marched in the streets in PROTEST of the continuing atrocities in Iraq........but nobody could be really sure because Corporate owned Mainstream "media" gave the story as LITTLE coverage as possible and quickly went on to other "NEWS." We'll never know how many people were there but I saw pics taken by one blogger and there were people of EVERY economic, religious sector one can imagine. There were angry vets, to furious grandparents to everyone else our great Melting Pot has to offer. Marie, just, a week and a half ago, I heard a little tiny bleep on "Fox News, Fair and Balanced," that in response to Bush giving our main ports to UAE, teamsters were threatening mass strikes and protests. Marie, I have searched high and low for more on this story and it has DISAPPEARED. I can't find it anywhere I have looked. Please don't think we aren't angry and furious. I have talked to many, many people and we are so furious we can hardly see or talk straight, it's just that we are being BLACKED out, silenced, jailed, and IGNORED by those in power and those at the top. COMPLETELY IGNORED by BUSH AND the MAINSTREAM MEDIA. Thank you again for all your support Marie. We need all the support and prayers we can get right now in our struggle for our country, rights, and freedoms. I ache for perspectives from other countries of what is going on right now. Bless you, Sincerely, A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: Democrats' Voting Records Over and over since 2000, we have witnessed Democrats betraying their constituents as they voted for destructive Republican measures, (and those favored by their wealthy corporate donors). Votes to invade Iraq, award tax breaks to the wealthy, allow our national parks and forests to be exploited, reauthorize the Patriot Act in the absence of Civil Rights Protections, are but a few examples. I wish I'd kept track myself, but it has been so constant and so depressing that I have been in chronic shock. Can you point me to some group that has kept a record of these major votes in which Democratic leaders have abetted the Republicans? I would like to confront my own Senators with this list and ask for their explanation before November. If there is no such record, perhaps, BuzzFlash could find some willing to create one. It would make a good BuzzFlash premium offer. Thank you, A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: Andrea Mitchell/Chris Matthews Hardball 3/2/06 Chris Matthews asked Andrea Mitchell if the Dubai ports deal could cause another "cartoon" situation in the middle east? She said "absolutely." Why she knows people who are not just offended but "deeply offended." I guess the Sunnis and the Shi'ites are going to stop the civil war and join together to protest if this deal isn't approved. There will be demonstrations all over the world over. I know I'm scared. I certainly hope the Bush administration plans to denounce this type of hysterical rhetoric the way they did with Newsweek. Oh, that's right, she got these talking points from Bush himself. If he's so concerned about the Arab world's feelings, maybe he ought to stop torturing their people! Barbara Pariot Subject: Do What We Can I understand the frustration of the BuzzFlash family member who wants us all to cancel our cable, turn off the damn boob tube and just use our computers to find out the truth about what is going on in this country we all love so much. I understand but that isn’t the way that is right for me. I watch cable. I watch Lou Dobbs on CNN and Keith Olbermann on MSNBC. I tune into Hardball once in a while just to watch Chris Matthews make a fool of himself. I email his station about it. If Liberals don’t watch and support those few voices honestly trying to project some actual fairness onto the air waves how can we honestly complain? Mr. and Mrs. Average American are too busy or quite honestly too disinterested in politics to do more than check a few news programs for their information. Those of us who are “political junkies” will always find a way to get the truth. The majority will not. I write letters, I sign petitions, I plant signs in my lawn and windows, I attend meetings and always, always I vote. I’ve been doing these things for forty years and will do them as long as my body and my mind allow me to keep on keeping on. I watch Lou Dobbs, Keith Olbermann and listen to Air American every day. Do we honestly think people who support Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly are going to stop listening? Where will we turn when there are NO voices speaking for us instead of just a few? We can rant and rave and tell each other how bad things are but unless the average American who doesn’t know the rights contained in the first Amendment but knows all contestants on American Idol knows and understands, well we’re just so screwed. So, yes I will continue to watch a few television programs. If we were all supporting Keith Olbermann as the blog the Daily Kos tells us to do he would have higher ratings. If he had higher ratings those fools in media who care about nothing but the bottom line would not be tempted to cancel his program. We all want the same conclusions. We just will find our way there in our own way. That’s the best thing about being a Liberal. We allow everyone the right to be their own person. Disorganized? Sometimes. Wimpy? All to often. Can’t get our own party to all agree on anything? Frequently. So? That’s who we are. If we all agreed with our movement on all occasions no matter what we felt we would be Republicans. Ugh! What a lousy alternative. Marjorie L. Swanson Subject: Senator's Response Here is my illustrious Senator's response to my request to support H. Res 635, which calls for a Congressional inquiry to investigate the grounds for impeachment of Bush. Text follows:
A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: Fineman: George Bush, the un-explainer-in-chief
How could anyone have ever seen it otherwise? I’ll tell you...because of idiots like Howard Fineman. Now the same Bush-enablers in the “media” are slowly trying to write themselves out of the fact that they not only supported the Cowboy-In-Chief all along, but their writings and musings about his “certitude” and “machismo” were central in getting America into the incredible mess we find ourselves in today. Seriously, if you take a look at the majority of Fineman’s writings on these subjects over the past four years, you would be hard-pressed to understand or imagine a schizophrenic turn the likes of which he demonstrates in this article. And he writes it as if it is how he felt all along...like he’s “one of us”...the “dazed-and-confused.” I, for one, have NEVER been confused about George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, or the Neo-Conservative plan for the world. And I dare say most readers of BuzzFlash haven’t, either. John L. Johnson Subject: Matthews Shows Breaking News about Bush KNEW Katrina Damage Chance!!!!! Matthews just showed Bush being briefed about Katrina 5, repeat 5 DAYS BEFORE IT HIT and HOW BAD THE DAMAGE WOULD BE! He was told how the Levees would most likely Break. Then he tells America "Nobody expected the levees to break and the amount of damage"! Tom Subject: lou dobbs I'm watching Lou Dobbs tonight and the man is on fire -- he's all over the ports deal and has started a 45-day countdown. He's going to track this thing on a daily business. The man is upset. Now he's dumping on Bush about Katrina. It's almost as if the administration has somehow ticked him off and now he's on a mission. If Dobbs is looking for stories to report he's a rich man -- he's probably the only nationally known reporter doing what he should be doing. I don't normally watch Lou, but he's on my watch-list now. Mick [BuzzFlash Note: Keith Olbermann (MSBNC/Countdown) has been hammering away for some time.] Subject: How Can You Be Too Shrill? So BuzzFlash is too shrill for some so-called liberals' delicate sensibilities? Well, do the topics Buzz addresses justify the notch it reaches on the shrill meter? Hmmmm. Let's think about this. Since November of 2000, when George W. (for War President) Bush's daddy got James Baker to figure out how to get Uncle Ronny's Supreme Court to throw the election for him, we have been under the iron heel of the most humiliating, dishonest, inept, spendthrift, secretive, and increasingly unconstitutional administration in the history of our nation. These people have used their mythical "War on Terror" as a blanket excuse to perpetrate a laundry list of crimes which, five years ago, would have sounded like a Tom Clancy novel. Their fabricated war in Iraq has now progressed to virtual genocide; yet they clearly intend to leave our troops there rather than admit their own stupidity. Much like Hitler abandoned his army at Stalingrad. After getting caught flying under the radar with "intelligence gathering"--caught like nobody since O.J. Simpson--Unitary George and Deadeye Dick aren't turning a hair about going mano a mano with the Fourth Amendment. Not only that, they welcome the opportunity to stand up tall and announce loud and clear, like Eli Wallach, "We don't need no stinkin' Congress!" And in our latest episode, after four and a half years of convincing us that every Arab on the planet is just waiting for Osama to give him the word, and--bango!--no more Sears Tower; now Fearless Leader tells us that not being crazy about the idea of having Arabs handle our port security is giving his buddies in Dubai the wrong message. Presumably because we're, uh, tarring all Arabs with the same brush, as it were. Dear God! Hello? Weren't you the military genius who attacked a perfectly guiltless country on the bill of goods that the guys who attacked us looked sufficiently like Iraqis?!?! And while all of this has been going on, the plutocratically controlled, toadying, gutless, self-serving Fourth Estate, which is probably making the likes of Thomas Paine and Peter Zenger spin in their graves, wink at and nudge each other, and proceed to sit through the latest outrage like the three bloomin' monkeys. So. Is BuzzFlash too shrill? Mmmmmmmm....no. Not by half. We are living through nothing less than the demolition of our democracy, day by day, crime by crime, and dammit, we should be shrill. We should be screaming at the top of our freaking lungs! Somebody's gotta do it. Somebody's gotta leave the dulcet tones and the esoteric vocabulary to the William F. Buckleys and take on the Howard Beal persona. So I say go to it, Buzz. Keep nailing these bastards for the filthy murderers they are, and let the faint-of-heart get their carefully-filtered news from the collaborationist New York Times! Ellie Remore Subject: Was DP World in Charge of Port Where the USS Cole Was Attacked? I heard a caller to the "Ed Schultz Show" today state that Dubai Ports World, under a previous corporate moniker, held the same logistical authority in Port Aden when the USS Cole was bombed there that it seeks in Baltimore, New Jersey, New Orleans, etc. Does anyone have any clarification in this regard? Sir Loin Of Beef [BuzzFlash Note: We're not sure, but a quick search suggests that the company began working at that port in 2005 (http://www.dpiterminals.com/fullnews.asp?NewsID=21). The attack was in 2000.] Hi, Shirley from St. Louis - you spoke about the infamous Rudy in the 3/1 Mailbag. I just have something to add about l'affaire Giuliani. Not only did he have an affair right in his own home, but it was he who announced on national TV that he was filing for divorce - his wife was quite surprised since this was the first she had heard about it. Yep, family values run deep in the repug family. Rudy for president??? Gag me with a spoon. I've had more than enough of him. He was a hero on 9/11, but I believe Michael Bloomberg would have been just as much of a hero (without trying to capitalize on it day after day). And believe me, Giuliani is capitalizing. Giuliani and his many limited partnerships are some of my boss's clients. He's making money hand over foot as a result of his heroism on 9/11. But I don't think the GOP would put up with his socially liberal views, i.e., pro choice, pro gun control. That is, if he still holds those views. He's probably power hungry enough to give up any of his prior beliefs. Actually, the thought of him as president scares me silly. Barbara in NYC Subject: What will it take ...?????? What will it take to undo the self-centered zombie state of this country? What will it take for the core of this country to get upset about the loss of personal rights, rapidly accelerating across our Constitution? What is enough? Is it not enough that our waters and air and climate and forests are tragically being poisoned and squandered all for the not-so-mighty u.s. dollar? Do people know that they are being used, abused and played for fools by the Bush Administration? What will it take to embolden and remind Democratic Politicans that they once had some principles and integrity? What will it take to prevent this country from becoming a fully fascist land where religion and fear are cynically used as prods to manipulate a sleeping populace? And what will it take to awake this populace before it is just too late??? Barry De Jasu Subject: The smoking gun....video Now, that everyone has seen (I would imagine) the video of Bush and heckofajob Brownie....discussing the levees...on Aug. 24th....four days prior.....how can he lie himself out of this!? ...Bush is Houdini....somehow....he will get out of it! Remember the sermon ..." I don't think anyone could have imagined the breach of the levee?"...Yeah...he'll get out of it! This man is such a pathological liar....he just will. I really thought maybe this was it.....but, I have thought that too many times before. Shirley.............St. Louis Subject: UAE Port Deal: Is It About Heroin Smuggling? Just like many had predicted, post-Taliban Afghanistan has retaken the #1 spot in world opium production. Afghanistan retakes heroin crown (BBC) US News and World Report touched on the drug smuggling aspect of the Dubai port back in December. So for all the bluster about the UAE being intolerant of smuggling and an ally on terrorism, it's not difficult to put the pieces together. An Unlikely Criminal Crossroads (US News) Bush family = CIA = drug smuggling It's not like we haven't seen this script before. This time, terrorism is a very easy distraction. Afghanistan's primary source of income is the drug trade. Opium is traded there like currency. But it eventually must make its way to the customer base around the world. The top shareholder of Dubai Ports World, UAE President and Emir of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahayan, is the son of the man behind Bank of Commerce and Credit International, which expedited the heroin shipments, and return money flows of the US' first Afghan War in the '80s. The BCCI Affair: A Report to the Committee on Foreign Relations I am by no means an expert, but I don't think it's a stretch to think that a direct link between the UAE port and ours could open up a very lucrative trade route between Afghanistan and the US. If this UAE port deal goes through, I believe we will see a dramatic increase in the heroin supply in this country. A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: Mark Twain, on the Role of Press Tonight, I watched the Ken Burns/PBS documentary of one of my favourite Americans -Mark Twain. His words about the press struck me as incredibly pertinent in today's USA. I felt the need to transcribe his words, and send them to you folks at BuzzFlash. You are people who Mr. Clemens would be proud of, for the work you are doing furthers the kinder humanity he also envisioned. Mark Twain, regarding the role of the American press:
To the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Reillys, Novaks, and every other vermin who seek to pollute the minds of your countrymen for a pocket full of cash - how would Mark Twain speak about your enabling roles in this period of American history? How will history record your treasonous behaviour? Ardyjay Subject: Eye Openers Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle" and BuzzFlash.com. Any link between the two? Only that Sinclair woke-up America with his novel about the Chicago stockyards and today, a century later, BuzzFlash.com is doing the same thing by way of its headlines, editorials, Mailbag & all. What happens, this time, when BuzzFlash wakes-up America? We the people change the world, that's what. A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: Hostile To U.S.? Good morning, Buzz and all subscribers, OK, let me see: supplying the poor in the U.S. with oil from Venezuela so these people won't freeze to death is a hostile act because that country's President is critical of our President? Chavez is critical, sure, but, I've yet to hear or read that a "wingnut" from Venezuela thinks that GWB should be assassinated. Hear that, Pat Robertson? Also, the SCOTUS now says in its latest ruling that it's hunky-dory for anti-abortion protesters to perform blockades on womens' health clinics, therefore affecting the physical and emotional health of people who choose to opt for LEGAL abortions??? Oh, that's just great: so, the poor should freeze, perhaps to death, and, women should just not have sex at all, because, after all, pregnancy is HER fault (even though men can impregnate several dozen times more than women can conceive). Hating the poor, hating women, hating blacks (think Hurricane Katrina, for starters)? Is that what's supposed to make this country great??? Nice. If I had a weaker stomach, I'd throw up. Lisa Navarro Subject: Breaking News A BuzzFlash Reader Subject: Have You No Shame, Sir? Mr. Bush made a surprise visit to Afghanistan in order to use our troops for another “photo op.” The United States Military has no choice about being a backdrop in our “War President's” endless attempt to portray himself as a super hero Commander In Chief. Never have so many been used so ruthlessly by so few for such self-aggrandizing politicking. Another of Mr. Rove’s “brilliant” ideas? Is this supposed to get Mr. Bush’s poll numbers out of the basement? Is this supposed to convince the people of this country that this man is somehow a hero? No matter how close you stand, Mr. Bush, their integrity, heroism, and honor are not going to rub off on you. A good share of Americans is now wise to your cheap stunts and this latest one will just bring forth disgust, not the admiration you seek. Undoubtedly many of his faithful followers will find his latest photo op reassuring. After all, he has used the military as a backdrop so often one might almost think he was one of them. But, wait, no, he never did use that pilot’s training that cost his government a lot of money. He never flew a mission and he never fired a shot at an enemy who could shoot back. He and his attack team have fired many a verbal attack on men who really did fight for their country. He of course has kept his hands clean and let others do the dirty work for him. Typical. Quit using the men and women who are actually warriors as a backdrop Mr. Bush. They are far too fine to be used thusly and you just haven’t earned the right. You dishonor them and the office you hold. Marjorie L. Swanson Subject: Regarding How Many Dead Iraqi Children Are in PFA's MN Ads As someone who lives in Northern Minnesota, I can lend my comments about how many dead Iraqi kids they show in these pathetic and jingoistic ads. The answer might surprise you but the message that they give won't. I think, in the three or four different ads that have run here, they show one or two pictures of dead Iraqis. What they attribute these dead Iraqis to, however, is not the US or the UK or the so-called Coalition but the insurgency and, oh yeah, Saddam Hussein. The photos don't lie, though. It's quite obvious that these bodies (what's left of some of them) are not the work of Saddam Hussein or any damned insurgency but rather the "Coalition" forces. When you go to their website, www.midwestheroes.com, you cannot contact anyone and debate their lies with them. Failing that, you then head over to their overlords, the Progress for America (Orwell, where are you now?) and try to leave a comment in their mailbox and end up getting absolutely nowhere. How convenient that you can't get in touch with these truth-killers, isn't it? It's to the point where you wonder: are these really soldiers in these ads or actors that PFA hired to brainwash the gullible amongst us? Chris Grant Subject: Fasting for Peace Dear Buzz: Subject: We Need Some Money I rec a call last night from the DNC seeking a contribution. I have been a loyal democrat my entire life contributing both time and money to the cause, but this poor person reached me on the wrong night, at the wrong time, with the wrong request. After a few seconds of near hysterical laughter, I asked her if she had any idea who she was talking to. I told her I am a democrat. We are the ones whose jobs are now in Mexico or China. We are the ones who are now making less money than we were 10 years ago. We are the ones without health care or adequate day care or affordable housing. We are the ones who will no longer be able to afford "choice" when abortions are made illegal. We are the ones who not only can't afford to make contributions but soon may not be able to afford the gas or car to go vote for them. We are the ones whose unions have been crushed or not allowed to form. I am a democrat. I have no money! I asked her to supply me a list of something the democrats had done for me recently. Something that they had gone to the "mat" on to make my life better. Maybe I've missed something, some heroic effort they have made on my behalf. Maybe they really didn't all vote for the war, the unpatriot act, the nomorebankruptcy bill. Have I missed something? What is wrong in this country, why are we not all marching in the streets over what is going on here? We are standing by as we the democrats are being taken for a one way ride into poverty. Where are our leaders? Where is our Dr. Martin Luther King? Where is our party? I want to vote, I want to participate, but the choices are, in my mind, anyway, dismal. Don't call on me for money. I am a democrat and I don't have any and unless the democrats wake up and start recognizing the faces of their party once again, they are doomed to fail. Sarah Berthold Buzz, You should have warned us to have barf bags handy before reading that letter to Dobson. There ought to be a law …. Whoops, oh yeah, that's right - don't have them anymore. We are truly screwed, but we knew we would be. Thanks Dems. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/max-blumenthal/alito-sends-james-dobson-_b_16596.html I got some really distressing news last night. I got a letter from the Republican National Committee (?!?!) telling me that my membership (!?!?) is about to expire. Did I black out for a few months and join the republican party? Anyway, I must act fast. The democrats are working hard to destroy all the great things that the rethuglicans have done. So I re-wrote the letter and substituted Republican wherever it said Democrat. I substituted Karl Rove wherever it said Howard Dean. And I substituted various rethuglican congress people wherever Democrats were mentioned. And you know what? The letter now makes perfect sense. I'll send it back but they won't read it. If there's no check enclosed, they just toss it. But I may send a check with a big "F*%k You" written across it. And by the way, they have my name wrong. They use my first name, but my husband's last name. I never use my husband's last name. Pretty spooky. Well, I've gotta go and try and get the kool aid out of my system before I start turning red. Barbara in NYC Subject: Progress Report: Toward a Two-Tiered Internet (URGENT)
Dear Buzzers -- In case you think I'm paranoid (as the saying goes, even paranoids have real enemies) here's the evidence. I've been predicting this move for a couple of months now, but had no idea that Internet access would be restricted IN THE NEXT 30 DAYS. That will shut down MY voice, since I can't afford Internet access AND food for two weeks out of each month as it is. And I'm sure it will affect other Buzzers in situations comparable to mine. It will also impact BuzzFlash. Which, of course, is their intention: i.e., to shut down the progressive communication system by pricing all of us out of the "marketplace." HOW DO WE STOP THEM??? I tried to send their letter to AOL, but -- funny thing -- I kept getting "illegal entry" messages and couldn't even respond to register my outrage. Maybe, if YOU click on the links, you'll get better results than I did. We have 30 days to keep this rape of our civil liberties and first amendment rights (they've already succeeded in gutting our 4th amendment rights, as in protection against illegal search and seizure). If I had to pay for every email I sent or every email -- soon to be classified as spam -- HELL, I get more spam in an hour than I can delete fast enough; now, however, BuzzFlash and other progressive sites that can't handle the charge-for-each-email will automatically be blocked from the people (like me and the rest of us) who count on you as our lifeline and communication network. If you haven't already guessed, they're trying to SILENCE us. We CAN'T let them get away with this. I'm too upset at the moment to think strategically, but does anyone out there have some constructive suggestions? (People, including fellow progressives and liberals, laughed at me when I first suggested that something like this might happen. I've often -- hey, I was an English major, so my fellow students were acquainted with the classics -- been told that I was Cassandra, the Greek mythology figure who had the gift of prophecy (a gift granted by Zeus, who had seduced her), and since one god couldn't take away the gift bestowed by another, his jealous wife, Hera, "modified" it with the clause that no one would believe her. PLEASE let's put our heads -- or at least our strategies and words -- together before it's too late. Barbara Lee (Barb) Blazyk Subject: Speak Softly? No! Dear Buzz: frankly – I appreciate your telling the truth the way it is. I do not mind stronger words instead of soft euphemisms. Treason does not spell “omission”, “misinformation” or "I thought it was declassified". A lie does not spell “stretching the truth”. A United States President does not spell Bush either, but it is another story. Please stick with your headlines, and with your wording. I would not have it any other way, not from you. If I may ask for something, that would be even stronger words. Just say it exactly the way it is. Some headlines certainly need translation, and you facilitate it admirably well. Now for those who mind seeing things without rosy-colored glasses made in China by Bush Cartel subsidiary: Go to your soft psychedelic surreality, enjoy Paula Zahn the tooth fairy, Faux News and Rush Limpbutt, criticize only in a whisper, or better yet, disguise criticism as a lavish prize. In other words, just be RED. Greetings to all - Malgoska Buzz, My suspicions would be that these people were put up to subscribing in the first place and are part of a concerted effort to intimidate BuzzFlash. We all know that they put forth concerted campaigns to intimidate and shut down their opposition. After years of reading Buzz, I say keep up the good work. Susan Subject: WHO IS TO BLAME FOR PLAME? NO SUCH THING AS A SINGLE PROBLEM WITH AN INEPT BUSH ADMINISTRATION! There are the lies, the scandals, Dubai, Katrina, Domestic Spying, catching Osama and al-Zarqawi, torture and rendition, and a failing policy in Iraq and refusal by Bush and the Neocons, to admit what we have been seeing there has been civil war! The only thing interrelating all of them are the incompetence and the cover-ups by George and his cronies! With the hoopla about all of the above, the PlameGate has seen little attention, just like the Bushies hoped would happen. Therefore, kudos to Jason Leopold for his article, “Details Emerge in Latest Plame Emails.” Please read the excerpts below as this is a heinous cover-up and goes way beyond the appearance of impropriety. The repetitive Bush ploy of lost evidence conveniently found, when used to protect Bush, Cheney, Rove, Gonzales and Libby is obvious to anyone asking the hard questions! The “defense of “I was busy, so I forgot” would be funny if it weren’t so blatantly dishonest! Napoleon was fond of saying, “In politics an absurdity is not an obstacle!” Time after time Bush and his cronies have proved they agree with the other dictator! http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/030106J.shtml Read the whole article! The White House has turned over a ream of 250 emails, while others are lost and will never see the light of day. Remember Bush’s A.W.O.L. from the National Guard, same B.S. happened then! Of course, Mr. Gonzales and a host of White House lawyers did some protective screening before they were turned over. The media was totally silent on this development. In the article, Mr. Leopold recounts, “In addition to witness testimony, investigators working with Fitzgerald are said to have discovered the existence of the emails from computers that investigators had confiscated from the Office of the Vice President, people familiar with developments in the investigation said.” This article asks a hard question that has NEVER BEEN ANSWERED! “For one thing, it raises numerous questions: why weren't the emails located in late 2003, when Gonzales enjoined roughly 2,000 White House staffers to turn over any communication about Plame Wilson and her husband, as so ordered by a Justice Department subpoena? Do the emails provide greater insight into the campaign to discredit Wilson and identify the officials who unmasked his wife's undercover CIA status to reporters? A spokesperson for Gonzales did not return numerous calls for comment. But sources close to the investigation said that unnamed senior officials in Cheney's office had deleted some of the emails before Fitzgerald learned of their existence earlier this year, and others never turned them over to Gonzales as requested. Separately, according to people close to Fitzgerald's probe, there are some emails that Gonzales has refused to turn over to Fitzgerald, citing "executive privilege" and "national security” Bush, Cheney, and their Administration’s insolence in using “executive privilege” and “security” whenever it benefits them to cover their tracks, is an insult to the American people! The broken promise of a dishonest regime to expose who outed of Valerie Plame, in a revengeful act, should be countered by right action and by justice in holding all the culprits accountable.
